@jaguar: how many more days til transfer? hoping everything goes amazingly smooth for you!!

preeetty much looks like a BFP today on the first response (posted in POAS) excited/anxious/nervous/deliriously tired right now. I have that yuckky throaty gut churning feeling going on.

my daughter has caught a bug off my niece, been up all night coughing/spewed/feverish and being a general pain in the butt wanting to watch pyjanimals at 4 am there goes my sunday, hubby got up with her at 8, and has just gone back to bed.

@jaguar: I'll be thinking of you, Tuesday is my birthday so i'll sneak you into my birthday wish

I've been pretty trepidatious with hubby over the last few weeks, playing it down, not overly excited etc over the test. he's been worried that if it goes the other way that I might freak out (which i'm more likely to do internally). keeping it calm, and being patient with the days passing and keeping anxiety in check.

    How was everyone's weekend?

Mine was decent. Got AF yesterday, but it wasn't a surprise, I realized earlier in the week that things weren't working out. DH and I met some old friends for brunch and games, then we went to one of those painting/drinking places, then dinner, then a comedy show. Tomorrow we are leaving to go visit my family for a week and lay my gma to rest (she passed 2 months ago, took awhile to finalize the funeral).

Due to yet another long cycle and some lower abdominal pain, my obgyn had me do LH, FSH, and thyroid bloodwork on Friday, day 36. I have a ultrasound scheduled on CD12 to see if I still have ovarian cysts and to measure my uterine lining. I'm so glad to get some more info.

Thinking of you as you get closer to your hopeful transfer date, @jaguar! I imagine it is monday where you are, any news about your embies? Like you said, I think/hope no news must be good news.....

Finally got a quick reply from the nursing team:

    Hi Aly,

The scientists usually would contact you if there was an issues, from what we can see on the database they have only thawed 3 embryos on Friday. As for how many are still developing at this stage we can't answer this question, so it must be all good news so far. Hope this helps a little bit!

So for now.... I guess it's on tomorrow?

@DesertDreams88: Sorry about AF but glad you had some fun with DH and friends. Good that you have some next steps scheduled. For me, it always helps to have something to countdown to.

@jaguar: Yay, fingers crossed today! I'll be thinking of you!

AFM, my weekend was supposed to be spent working on our basement so we can get it finished but DH got called in to work Saturday. But good news is, I've ordered the tile and I think I've picked out the paint color. So at least I can start painting before the tile comes.

So far I haven't found anyone I know who can answer this, but has anyone here had something delivered to your house by tractor trailer?

We had to order 45 boxes of tile for the basement and my tracking info says it will be delivered by one. I live on a small side street where lots of people park on the street (thankfully we have driveways to park our cars). I'm interested in seeing how they will get to us!

    @FannyMae: Congratulations!!!

    @jaguar: All the good luck!!

@DesertDreams88: I'm glad you have some next steps in place! I hope your results come back ok.

My weekend was busy, but not as productive as it should have been. I got home Friday and DH had been working on the house on his day off, so I immediately picked up a paint brush to touch up some of the painting he'd done that day. We ended up painting together until midnight going back over what the painter did last week (he missed quite a few spots!) and going over a few places DH had patched. We talked to our realtor Friday and we're on track to list in about two weeks. AH!

I had a crochet meetup on Saturday which was fun, but the cold I came down with earlier in the week got worse while I was there. I got some cleaning done at the house Saturday night and yesterday, but not nearly as much as I'd hoped to do.

And I had a huge meeting at work this morning and found out that life is about to get WAY more busy in the next couple of weeks (which is so convenient because of the house going on the market and my thesis being due in about 2 weeks too...)

  12. HappyBluebird

    clementine / 957 posts

@MaryM: Yay for listing the house in 2 weeks! That's exciting! Have you started looking for new houses?

Also, I was super bummed about missing this past weekend. If I would have known DH would get called in to work, I would have made it. Hopefully I can make it next time

  13. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

@HappyBluebird: I'm completely overwhelmed with the house stuff. I can't even get excited yet.

We're meeting with our Realtor this weekend so he can see the changes we've made and go over the listing agreement. I think then we'll talk more about when to make time to look at places to buy.

The work news will make it harder for me to get off on random week days, so it will likely depend on when DH has time off on weekends and our relator is also free.

I think it stresses me out the most that our realtor is confident that our house will go fast (most in our neighborhood are under contract in 20 days). I'm not sure DH and I are capable of finding a place we agree on that quickly!

  14. HappyBluebird

    clementine / 957 posts

@MaryM: Yeah that would be stressful. I was renting before I bought our house so that helped with timing. Well I hope that it all works out time wise to get it listed, sold, and that you are able to find a new house.

  15. DesertDreams88

    grapefruit / 4361 posts

@marym: Wow, when it rains it pours! At busy times like those, I always console myself by saying that at least in X number of weeks it will be over! Regardless of how it went, it will be OVER! What's your thesis on?

  16. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

@HappyBluebird: I was homeless before I bought my house, so time didn't really bother me. My lease ran out and I lived with a friend for a month or so, then I stayed with DH for a couple months.

  17. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

@DesertDreams88: Deadlines usually help me feel better too, except the only thing with a hard/fast end date will be my thesis! The work stuff will be busy through the fall, and who knows how long the house stuff will take. I just hope it'll be over fast!

My thesis is on the role of communication in supporting an organizational culture (and thereby increasing employee morale). My research is done, I just need to finish one transcript and pull it all together.

Well, we are transferred and in a TWW now. It was the most miserably, day behind embryo... so I virtually have written this off already. So disappointed. I was so hopeful that because it's taken SO EFFING LONG to even get a shot at a transfer, a chance at getting pregnant, we'd have a good embryo to put back, but no. I'm so over this.

It's been quiet in here lately, how's everyone doing?

  25. DesertDreams88

    grapefruit / 4361 posts

Mixed emotions over here. I'm spending my spring break with my family, which is good, but it's for my grandma's funeral, which is obviously not good. It's been bringing up a lot more feelings of loss and reminding me of my miscarriage more often, so..... that's been harder. Add into that that AF came the day before we left for this trip, and it's just a confluence of not-so-great-things. I will be giving her eulogy at the funeral on Saturday and I hope I can hold it together and honor her the way she deserves.

@marym, that sounds like a really interesting thesis I work at a school where there is TONS of turnover due to low morale and insufficient/ineffective communication from admin, so.... it strikes a chord with me haha. What field do you work in?

@jaguar: I read your blog so I saw your pics and I understand your concern. So frustrating and sad, to wait and wait and have hopes dashed over and over, and now to be caught in between waiting and hoping again, but desiring to protect yourself from more hurt. I hope you have some good, wonderful things to take your mind off of it while you wait to test.

@DesertDreams88: ((HUGS)) That sounds like a really rough time.

It's funny you mention that you see what I'm writing about at your school. I work at a university, and part of my reason for writing about this topic is that it's become a huge concern lately (the president even said it had come to his attention last fall). Our prof wants us to write about things that might help us advance in our careers, so...yeah...it's a MAJOR topic here (and probably in all of academia).

@jaguar: Will you be meeting your nephew soon? Congrats and hugs. I was surprised how not upset I was when I met my niece (until her baptism when every single one of the women there except for me where breastfeeding and/or pregnant).

    @HappyBluebird: Hi!

AFM, I finally gave in and went to the doctor for my cold. Either I just so happened to pick up pink eye (from god knows where) while also having a sinus infection, or the infection was close to my tear ducts and caused my eyes to get incredibly disgusting. I still look like I'm totally high, but at least they aren't swollen like yesterday.

My beautiful little nephew is lovely, but no, we can't meet him. He's in the NICU on c-pap machine, because he's got pneumonia, the poor little bugger. He's got no name yet, because his parents haven't been able to have much cuddle time and they want to bond first. It's been a tough few days, and he'll be in hospital a few more days yet.

I remember how hard this was with Georgia (she was in special care for 8 days after birth) so I'm giving them lots of space.

Just got word that my bloodwork suggests pcos. I have an ultrasound scheduled for Wednesday but I won't know the results until April 8th, when I meet with with my doctor. I'm still hoping that maybe my hormones and such were off because I was taking too much B complex and so maybe that's why the bloodwork results suggest pcos, or that I'm on the less severe side of pcos. So I am bummed but still a bit hopeful. They only tested LH, FSH, and thyroid levels.

  36. DesertDreams88

    grapefruit / 4361 posts

@jaguar and @marym: I remember you mentioning you have PCOS. I will be seeing my doctor on CD 19, do you think I should request/mention a CD21 progesterone test, in addition to the other bloodwork I've done and the ultrasound?

  37. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

@DesertDreams88: if your doctor suggests you come in on CD 21, I would remind them of your long cycles. You should actually test 6 dpo.

Since your cycle was 30+ days last cycle, I don't think CD21 testing would end up helping them see very much.

When I was diagnosed, it was done via blood test (hormone/thyroid) and cycle charts. I wasn't TTC at the time, so I didn't have as much worked up.

I had 6dpo testing due to excessive spotting (which points to low P). Since it can also lead to long cycles, I wouldn't be surprised if your doctor suggests it.

  38. jaguar

    pomegranate / 3764 posts

@DesertDreams88: Yep, I'd be asking for it - just to hopefully scratch something off your list.
