So I went to work and kept having contractions. Then we had a group lunch as a farewell to another coworker, and I had some awful contractions through that but didn't have a way to time. By 2pm when I got I got back to my office on was timing them at 3 min apart and they were awful. DH and I headed to the hospital and got admitted around 4 and was 4cm, 50%. They broke my water at 5pm and my contractions suddenly became way way more intense!!! I was not in a good place mentally so I asked for an epidural around 6:30. I am now feeling much much better and will hopefully have a baby not too long from now. I'd say there's a pretty good chance he comes on his due date (tomorrow) at the rate I've been progressing

We'll I've been MIA while we finished our renos and got moved into our new house but that's done now and after 3 months of it we're definitely ready for this weekend to relax at the lake. My blood pressure had been high this week so I've had 2 appts but no protein in my urine so just keeping an eye on it. I have a list of symptoms to watch for where I'm to go straight to l&d for a non stress test and probably induction (since I'm full term) so just taking it one day at a time.
So exciting that it's August and we're all gonna have babies in our arms soon!

James Paul arrived on his due date at 12:09am weighing 7lb 8oz. We are completely in love with this little guy! Right now we're working on learning to feed and recognize his cues and getting as much rest as possible.

Our 4 year anniversary is next Thursday; I'll be 37 weeks. We asked the ILs to watch LO1 so we can go out to dinner. Trying to figure out where we're going to go! We always have 50 restaurants we want to try but when we have a chance to we draw a blank. LOL Right now a local farm to table / charcuterire restaurant about 30 minutes away is a top runner. It's in a cute town too so maybe a bit of post dinner dessert exploring?

@locavore_mama: That will be nice to get out for an evening alone! We have the same problem - always talking about where we want to go eat, but when it's time to go out we end up at the same spots
I think Sister is dropping - I woke up with incredibly sore hips/butt/crotch (and it's not my bed, that bed is amazing!), and a whole new waddle. Plus I can breathe again - yay!
I'm starting to get really antsy now that it's August... I've been fine this whole time, but now it's really hitting me that I get to have a sweet squishy baby soon!!! It's a good thing work is SO busy (ugh, 50-60 hour weeks) otherwise I'd be losing my mind.
How's everyone (that's left!) sleeping? Total pregnancy insomnia now

50-60 hr weeks?! Take it easy lady!! I have a deadline this Friday then final project document submissions next Friday. Hoping next Friday will be my last day. But I'll drop by if needed to tie up loose ends.
Anxious to talk to the partner re whether there's a permanent job offer or not.

ETA: @swurlygurl: I'm so scared to say this, but I haven't had real sleep problems in this pregnancy. I don't wake up having to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, though, which seems to be the main issue people have.

Oh man, the last couple of days, I have been feeling a lot more pressure down there. Then last night I was getting really sharp pains in my vaginal area. It felt like she was trying to push her way out! Anyone else feel that kind of pain? I don't remember this with DS.
I'm also super anxious to have this baby. I'm driving myself a little crazy and I'm starting to get to my DH. Every little cramp I feel, I'm thinking my labor could be starting. DH isn't going to believe me when my labor actually starts. Ugh, I'm so over being pregnant.
@swurlygurl: My sleep has been actually fairly decent. I just wake up to go to the bathroom but fall back to sleep pretty quickly. It is annoying trying to switch sides to lay on tho.

@mrskc: yeah, sadly shooting vagina pains are common for me! I've gotten some that stops me dead in my tracks and I have to stop and breathe! I also am getting a lot of BH contractions; some quite close together.. They even mentioned it when I was in L&D Saturday night.

@mrskc: I am having these pains as well. I had them maybe once for twice with my first pregnancy and all the time with this one. They get me excited, thinking it's time, and then nothing!

) but I've never seemed to make it on your due date list (I'm on another one- I think there are two?) I'm due on the 8th, and would love to be added if you have time.Sending out good thoughts to everyone!
For non-first time moms: I'm super weirdly achy whenever I walk around and tend to get a contraction with some crampy-like feelings, but they don't continue or get steady. It's been like this for a few days and I feel like I'm losing my mind. This sounds so goofy, but is there anyone willing to describe what their contractions that led to birth felt like? Thanks in advance!

@mrskc, @locavore_mama: ditto on the pain! last week, I thought I might actually have to go to the hospital bc i was writhing in pain for almost an hour... and then.. they just Went away. I was like.. What da heck was that?!?!
@swurlygirl: Sleep... oh how I wish I could get even 4 hours of straight sleep a night. I'm sure I'll have the same wish once the babies are here. haha.. Except at least now, I can fall back asleep after I pee, deal with the cramping, and put my wrist braces back on (for carpal tunnel).
I still want to hit DH with a pillow when I see how peacefully he sleeps away.. lol -
