Could you handle the number of kids your parents had?

They had 2 and I think we could handle it if we wanted to.

No way in hell. My dad and mom had 4, and then my dad got remarried to someone with 3, and all the kids were in the same house. No way. 2 is my absolute max.

My parents had three and that's what we plan on.

My mom one ups me with it all the time, though! Any time I complajn about being tired or worn out, she says, "imagine how hard it was with three! And your dad worked every third night. And we had no family around!"

Okay, mom, you win. I always want to point out there was a point she only had two, and they weren't 17 mo apart!

My ILs had four. We could handle it but plan on stopping at three.

My parents had four. I always thought I wanted four as well. Now I know better. Three would be my max.

@jedeve: that's totally annoying. My mom always just sympathizes with me...I have 1 and she had 6!

My mom and dad had 3, and my dad had another after my parents split. I think we could handle 3, we are at 2 now.

@jedeve: my mom likes to one up me, and everyone else, all the time! If I complain how tired I am, or the house isn't clean she'll go on about how she had 3, and closer together than mine(mine are 15 months apart. My brother is 12 months younger than me and the other is 17 months younger than him) and how my father didn't help her at all! Got mom...

My parents had 3. While I think I could handle it, I'm good with 2.

@jedeve: @GrapeCrush: My mom does that, too! Drives me INSANE! The best part is when it's phrased as "at least your husband helps you"..... don't even get me started!

@blackbird: haha my mom starts things out sometimes like this 'do you know how lucky you are to have a husband who helps? Your father didn't help me at all'. Yes mom, I'm so lucky. Now leave me alone haha

@GrapeCrush: Luck. BAH HUMBUG. It's called marrying an equal partner, in my book A husband who helps is the base standard, come on!

@GrapeCrush: @blackbird: I think my mom has done some revisionist history. Yes she did the lion's share is childcare and cooking and cleaning (as a SAHM), and my dad worked a lot when we were young (starting a new doctor's office). But I think he has become a dead beat dad in her mind! Especially whenever she sees my DH helping (which he is more likely to do to impress his MIL!)

I'm one of 3 and I think I could handle it! That's what we're planning on so we'll see after #2 gets here.
