K was soo sleepy when I put her to sleep tonight. I wrapped her up in her blankets and she was asleep immediately. I still rocked her for a bit, since it felt weird not too, but she was already passed out. Makes me think we should push back her bedtime a little? But of course since I'm posting about it, I'm sure tomorrow will be the exact opposite!

We just got through a crying fit because I wouldn't let him watch TV while he was trying to go to sleep! Got himself so worked up that it took like 20 minutes to calm him down. Feel like I need a drink now!

Was asked today by another monmy at music class as G was being cranky going back in cat seat...if she takes a paci? I'm like actually no she doesn't... thinking and if she did don't you think I would have thought to give it to her???
Then asked if she takes a bottle..I said she has stopped we are working on that and she goes.....
How does she eat then??
Umm is BF that uncommon where I live?
I don't know just rubbed me the wrong way!

@Miss Ariel: Right?!!? I stopped posting about her sleep....lol for that reason

@MrsF: ughhh sooo jeaous, I'm sooo ready for a date night, I think Grandma is going to have to do bottle boot camp soon!
@ winniebee: trying Playtex this weekend it is my last try before I'm going to start just leaving..

@MrsF: Date night sounds awesome! I'm jealous.
@snowjewelz: Dude! Why would you give her a bottle if you were with her?? I always just freeze any extra I pump because I figure I'll need it eventually. Also, it's normal for your supply to be less in the evening and for the baby not to get as much right before bed because of it. And babies drink significantly more from a bottle than they do from the boob just because it's easier - not because they necessarily need that much. Considering you're just keeping up with her needs during the day, I definitely wouldn't try giving her a bottle in the evening - that will just stress you out!
@FaithFertility: What bizarre questions! Especially about asking about the bottle - if she wasn't aware of breastfeeding, wouldn't she just ASSUME a bottle was in use and not ask about it?? So weird.

I'm solo parenting today! So far it's going okay, but I'm scared for this afternoon, haha. Xander was pretty fussy going down for his nap, but LUCKILY Logan's been sleeping for 2+ hours, which gave me the time I needed to feed Xander lunch and get him down for the nap. Luckily Hubs should be home by 6:00, so will be here to do bedtime!

@Adira: it was sooo weird, and G wasn't even cry crying, just tired and protesting the car seat a bit...I should say she asked if I had a bottle for her..
eggplant / 11861 posts
@Adira: Sounds like it is going good!!! Nice nap Logan, I'm sure that makes all the difference
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: don't worry I pumped when she got the bottle! I still pump and give her bottles on weekends (not religiously) bc of her being fussy with them. I'm afraid a whole weekend without a bottle will set her back! Anyway, she woke up after 4 hrs

@Adira: Logan was so cooperative!! Hope your hubby gets home on time!!

@FaithFertility: I'm gonna stop talking about sleep too lol. I'm starting to bore myself!
And people really make the strangest comments..... Brush it off

@Adira: glad it's going ok so far and that your DH will be home for the evening crazies I hope you 3 have a good afternoon!
@FaithFertility: people make the craziest comments!

@FaithFertility: that's so weird. I actually dislike pacifier questions ever since this one nurse asked me, only because my daughter's crying was bothering her. But seriously, "how does she eat?" Really??
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MrsF: awrsome that you got some time away!
@snowjewelz: I don't think Ryan eats a lot from the breast at bed time either. I usually do a bottle at bedtime and he will drink 4oz. And sleep til 2-3. But whenever I breast feed he's up at 1230.
@FaithFertility: my friend just had good luck with the comotomo?
Had a full day away from the kids and it was great! Pumping is strange though. I went 5 hours without pumping earlier and got 8 oz and then just pumped again 4 hours later but am not getting much.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: glad you had a great time skiing! I think pumping for you is prob wonky cuz your body is not used to it!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
So for nexts week dinner I made the earliest reservation possible at 5:15 lol! They are prob expecting an elderly couple hah!
nectarine / 2210 posts
@winniebee: that's similar to how pumping works for me. I normally get 8 or 9 at 9:30 which is about 3 hours after she last 8. But then when I pump for the second time, 6 hours later, at 3:30 it's normally closer to 6 ounces.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Thanks for all the well-wishes ladies! I got lucky - both Logan and Xander took really long naps, so I only had to deal with them both at the same time for a short portion of the day. Plus Hubs came home early!!
@winniebee: Yay for skiing!! Do you think you might have a clogged duct at all and maybe that's why you're not getting much out?
eggplant / 11861 posts
@Freckles: right?? I must of gave her this look like are you stupid....lol
@winniebee: Well the Playtex seemed to keep her happier longer, but still no go...I'll add that to my list
Hope you had a great day!!!
@snowjewelz: hahah too funny
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: glad you had a good day! I think I'm either getting sick or getting my period is my guess. I just pumped 2.5 hrs later and got another 3 oz. today is the first day Ryan has taken bottles and he took 4 oz every 3 hours so I'm assuming I normally make close to that?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: What time was your first pump? I pump so much more first thing in the morning than any other time during the day. And do you pump very often? Did you pump with your older son? I know some people don't respond as well to the pump as others, so I'm just curious if that might be a possibility.

@Adira: on the topic of reaching out/grabbing/milestones I wanted to share something my husband said yesterday. We were discussing how a relative asked him on the phone 'is [baby] reaching out and holding onto things yet?' To which he replied 'no, not really'. She then made a surprised 'oh' sound and that was the end of that. He told me that upon reflection what he should have asked in response was 'have you read War and Peace yet?' I thought it was pretty funny and on point!
Anyway, I would like to join this thread, a bit late. My baby is now 16 weeks. I am absolutely loving being a mum and am so happy! I was really worried about having PND but although I have cried a lot since she was born, mainly in the early weeks tears of joy and despair, I have made it so far without being depressed *touch wood*!
I have been blessed with an easy baby but I have heard of this 4 month sleep regression so we'll see if our luck will run out. If I were sleep deprived I would be a different person and more than likely have PND so I take my hat off to all the parents surviving through sleepless nights and every day count my blessings.

@winniebee: definitely annoying! Hopefully the next time is at least better

@Trufflehunter: welcome!! It sounds like we're in a similar situation, since so far K has been relatively easy. Hopefully that is able to stay somewhat consistent once she turns 4 months.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Trufflehunter: Welcome! Our babies are the same age!! Glad to hear you've been feeling okay and like you don't have postpartum depression. I'm scared of the 4 month sleep regression that's coming too!

@winniebee: glad you had a nice day off!
@Adira: so glad your day with the two boys went well! Good naps make all the difference
@Trufflehunter: welcome!

@Trufflehunter: welcome! when was your lil girl's birthday? Where are you from? we're a pretty active/chatty group here so hopefully you find a good place to ask questions, share, vent, anything!

How's sleep going with everyone? Anyone hit 4 month regression?
D is still STTN but naps are a little tougher. She likes to only nap for an hour as opposed to her long morning nap. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact I need to start having her nap in the crib as opposed to anywhere.
honeydew / 7444 posts
@Trufflehunter: Welcome! Haha, your husband should have said that. I ignore development questions - my first didn't really reach out and grab things until later on, and she was fine!
@snowjewelz: Too active/chatty that it's hard to keep up! haha
@BandDmommy: A's naps are still crap ever since he outgrew the swing at 2 months. His best naps are in the ergo, otherwise crib naps are 45 minutes.
honeydew / 7444 posts
For those of you with one LO already, have you gone back to your first posts on HB when you first started having issues? I went back and forgot DD was a great napper until 6 months, and that she had a 10 hour sleep stretch at 3.5 months! Looking back, she was actually a great baby. hahaa...oh hindsight, you get me every time.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Freckles: it's ok, whenever i'm away for a few days i just jump right in.. by the time you go back the thread already advanced for another 3 pages lol!
K's nap and night time sleep are still a/o the place... That pretty much sums it all up!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Freckles: wow! she was a great sleeper! I would give anything for K who is 3.5 mo now to sleep 10 hrs, everyday!
honeydew / 7444 posts
@FaithFertility: I didn't know this, but apparently the average breastfeeding period is 6 months in my city.
I actually had an annoying encounter last week with a "formula is poison" mom. She was a stranger, but she was saying how "oh even organic formula uses brown rice syrup, so there's arsenic in it!"
