it's not pink eye! apparently he has a yeast infection and he has gotten that on his hands and rubbed his eye and it has irritated the eye. got some drops and some ointment!

@Adira: Thank you! It's nice to see the schedule.
@whenoceansrise: Glad it's not pink eye and it's getting treated!

@MrsF: Yeah, now I'm glad I recorded everything when Xander was a baby so I have something to refer too! I really had forgotten how long he catnapped for!!

@MrsF: I've noticed Darcy is not as interested in nursing. Most likely why I got mastitis. She prefers to do other things. She eats 3 meals and 2 snack. I still nurse every 3 hours during day but they are short sessions.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@BandDmommy: yeah - I've been worried about mastitis with the decreased nursing too. I get tons of plugged ducts but I've avoided mastitis so far. I hope you're feeling better soon!

@MrsF: Ethan varies on what he eats everyday, sometimes 2 bottles, sometimes 3 at daycare. He gets 3 meals/day. Often on the weekends he's not interested in nursing often either, and his sessions are shorter during the day, too much to see/do.
@whenoceansrise: Glad it's not pink eye, and that you found out about the yeast infection.
I've dropped down to 2 pumping sessions / day. Dropping the pre-work session was easy b/c E went from nursing at 5 am, to 6, so pumping at 7 wasn't necessary. I pump at 9:30 and 2:30 now, and still get around 14-15 oz. so still keeping up with E, often staying ahead of him.
Not sure when I'll try dropping again? November maybe?
Whats everyone else planning for quitting pumping?

@whenoceansrise: That is good!
@josina: I only nurse G mornings, after work and right before bed!
She takes 2-3 straw cups 4-5oz each at daycare
I am worried it is not enough but she seems fine
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@FaithFertility: Sounds like exactly what E is drinking.
When E was barely taking 1 bottle at daycare the dr. wasn't worried, so I think we're good.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@josina: Yep and she isn't fussy or wanting to nurse 24/7 so I agree
eggplant / 11861 posts
@BandDmommy: hahaha no.....lol I have felt like crap head cold soooo flipping busy at work and had a horrible day
I swear I will by Friday, as I am needing to enjoy this glass of wine!

Today Ryan's schedule was
5- nurse
730 - breakfast
9 - nurse (before nap)
11 - nurse (forced a snack bc he was going out with nanny)
12 - lunch
130- nurse (before nap)
4- snack
430 - nurse
545- dinner
720 - bottle/bed
He def did not need the 11 am nurse but I didn't want to pack him a bottle and I didn't want the nanny to worry he was hungry. I think we could easily do 5 sessions if he continued to STTN. Sometimes I force it on him because I really think he's happier with solids and would just nurse at waking, naps and bed but I think he still needs 5 sessions health wise. Almost all of his sessions are 5-7 mins. But I can go from rock hard to drained so I'm guessing he is eating plenty.

@winniebee: Sounds good to me and if he is STTN, I'd stick to what ever works... lol

I feel like this summer has just FLOWN by. It seems like 5 minutes ago we were all talking about cluster feeds and now our babies are on such big kid schedules with solids and legit meals! I'm happy to be getting closer to the toddler stage, but I still can't figure out where the last 3 months went...

@MrsF: AMEM! I look at her and think wait, where did my baby go even though she is a baby, she is so big...

Had M's 9 month appt today. He's 22 lbs 10ozs (91%) & 27.5 in long (23% i think she said). He's doing great so far and displayed his stranger anxiety for the Dr. lol
M decided to fall asleep really easily last night at 7pm, only woke at 2:45am to eat & slept til 7am. I hope he continues!
@josina: I'm EP'ing and just dropped to 2 ppd. After getting mastitis earlier this month, I'm over pumping & have 3800ozs in the freezer, so he's good for awhile.

@AngelicOne: Growing so fast these babes!
Great night! Hope it continues for you too!

Anyone else get the "am I OK " look ?!
G will bump her head or fall over and whine and look at us like am I OK?!? Sad but kind of cute.....
pear / 1961 posts
@faithfertility: yep, we totally get that look/check-in. And she only cries if we make eye contact! So I try to avoid it and just say "uh oh!"
pear / 1961 posts
@winniebee: I don't know how you deal with your super early risers! E has been making noise at 513 (on the nose!) the last two days and I'm contemplating waking her up for a 4a feed to see if she will sleep later with it. Even if i don't get her til 6ish, she makes enough babbles during that time that I never fall back asleep.
pomelo / 5660 posts
@KayKay: We are a family of early risers too. But my husband leaves for work and takes our toddler to school on his way. So, we are all up by 5:30/6 a.m. My toddler has yet to understand what "inside voice" means. He will yell at me from his room "mom, where is my underwear?" FYI- his underwear is always in the same place.

D makes a huge deal about clapping. She raises one hand high in the air, looks at me for approval and then starts clapping and laughing. It's hysterical. I think we may be teething she cried when eating this morning so I checked and she had slight temp, so I gave her some advil for her pain.

@AngelicOne: Excited for our 9 mo. check-up tomorrow to get E's new stats.
Wow, you have a good stash!
@FaithFertility: Have you been nursing during the day on weekends or no? You don't pump at all during the day right?

K has a cold. Lot's a snot and coughing. Unfortunately for her this also leads to vomit like stuff too. She has so much drainage/congestion that she'll go to cough (particularly after feeding) and most of her bottle comes with the cough. Sigh!
We sent her to daycare regardless today because really it's just a cold and not some stomach thing.
This week has been hectic, life in all day Pre-K is kicking our butts.

@MrsF: Agree! I'm really loving these months! They are just sooo much fun!

@AngelicOne: Big boy and great sleep!
@FaithFertility: She absolutely will see who's around and decides if she wants to be more whiny/cry or just move on, haha! I can't believe you're gonna be testing soon! Exciting!
@BandDmommy: Haha B is a riot! They are gonna be a dynamic duo! K is like that too with her waving, she waits to see if you will praise her lol
@MamaG: Ay, hope she feels better! Isn't life easier with one in pre-k? How come it's more hectic?
pomelo / 5298 posts
@snowjewelz: Two separate drop off/pick up points. Lots of new routines and expectations to work on with C. And complete and utter exhaustion on her part at the end of the day. Which translates into overtired and poorly behaved in the evening. And mornings are also hard as she's just not getting enough sleep at this point and doesn't want to get up and get going.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
Kara is such a trickster. My mom and I are saying that she always laughs/chuckles at the "right" moment, as if she knows exactly what we're talking about, hah!
And she loves to use her finger to flick her straw on the cup... B/c water flies everywhere and I always squint, make a face, duck, etc so she thinks it's SO funny!
So I'm bugging DH to make some adjustments to her room so that I will start trying to put her in her room again... I bought new black out curtains, and we will lower the crib (we hadn't bothered since she doesn't sleep there haha).

@MamaG: Aww I see! It's a vicious cycle! Pre-k is working her hard!

@AngelicOne: great apt, and awesome sleep!
@MamaG: poor K Hope she feels better soon

How is everyone handling baths? H gets a bath every night before bed, and now that he is getting big boy baths, he is allll over the place, pulling up on the faucet, on the sides, on the soap holder, etc. He usually will be distracted by the toys I have in there for him, but last night I could barely scrub him since he kept standing up. Since he's still so young, I'm not sure it really helps for me to constantly be pulling him down to sit, since he doesn't necessarily understand 'no'? But then I don't really want him to start a habit of standing up in the bath? maybe it doesn't matter, and I'm overthinking. Haha. Ah, these kiddos.
nectarine / 2053 posts
@theotherstark: i was going to ask the same question! baths are so hard for us. we are currently doing sink baths but man.. he can't sit still!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@theotherstark: We are still using the infant tub, so he's not really going anywhere, but man, all he wants to do is splash! I try to just bathe him as quickly as possible and then stand back out of the splash radius so he can have fun for 5 minutes, haha.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@theotherstark: G actually is pretty calm these days in the tub it is always daddy time and she plays with him and is into his tricks.....lol some days she is a wild child and wants to stand and pull up
pomelo / 5660 posts
@theotherstark: I actually put D in the big tub because she kept pulling up on baby tin and scare me. I try and put tons of toys in and keep her from pulling up. When the pulling up gets too much I end bath time.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@theotherstark: I don't bathe K everyday, so I don't have to battle this everyday. She sits in her duck tub, and we just make it quick.. She gets to splash around/play with her toys, then I soap her up, rinse her off, do hair, and out! If she's happy with her toys or just splashing then I let her play around a little more but if she starts climbing out, etc then it's over!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
We do baths in the sink every-other day, and E is constantly standing up too, looking for things to play with. I just make them pretty quick! Quick scrub and shampoo and we're out.
