No bottles at daycare today - two sippys! This is really foreign territory for me as with C we didn't even introduce a sippy until 1. We pretty much just went cold turkey on the bottle for her.
And her teachers said she does the "jumping bean" bouncing thing all the time at school. No one else does it. It's just a K thing. She does it when she's excited, particularly when music is playing.
@Adira: How are naps looking for Logan? I think we might be the only two that are using a center based care right now. Or anyone else that is, what do daycare naps look like?

@MamaG: Such a big girls with the sippy cups! That jumping bean move is SO cute.

@MamaG: Yay to sippy cup
G is at an in home sitter with 4 other kiddos
Ages: 1, 1.5, 2,3
So she is the only one that takes a morning nap with that she bucks that nap often at daycare, she doesn't want to miss anything....lol
She then usually will nap from 12:30/1-2/2:30
Not bad but some days she passes out on way home for 20/30mins
Also I cut out the after pick up nursing sessions since she is taking her straw cup perfect now! Kind of sad I only nurse her 2x a day now!
She nurses at wake up, gets 2.. 4-5oz cups during daycare
Sippy with dinner about 4 oz and nurse before bed
Hope that is enough milk?!

@KayKay: Hope your day was good, and you guys settle into your new routine!

@KayKay: G goes to bed between 7:30/8
Always wakes at 6:30 latley like clock work

@MamaG: Naps are a crapshoot at daycare. Yesterday, he took two 20 minute naps and had JUST fallen asleep when I arrived. The day before, he took one one hour nap! I don't think naps at daycare ever really got better for Xander until he was on the toddler one nap a day schedule.

@BandDmommy: great about the cups!
630 is sleeping in in my world....

@Adira: same here, I expect significant improvement when we hit the one year old room. But they seem to be keeping her to a one nap schedule already. We do the same at home. At home that's a 2-3 hour nap. There it seems to be about 90 minutes.
pomelo / 5298 posts
@FaithFertility: that's probably about the same as K drinks now. She gets 4 offerings of milk each 5-6 ounces.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MamaG: Yeah, even Xander at 2.5 naps better at home. It just is what it is, I guess!

@FaithFertility: all day. Two offerings at daycare. The other two are at home at wake up and bedtime.

We're in-home with a at most (2) 3-year olds and E and he gets (2) 2ish hr naps, one morning and one afternoon. He's been doing so much better at the new in-home.
We usually nurse at 6, 3 bottles at daycare (10 hrs), nurse at 6 and 9.
E has started using a sippy (bought the nuby straw cups and sooo hard to suck out of!).
Do your LO's take cold milk yet or still warm? E's bottles are all warm but I will sometimes give a sippy with cold milk, he just 'sips', doesn't drink the entire thing. Wondering when to make the switch to all-cold?

@josina: Aw really? K loves the Nuby and I tried it and it's easy to suck! I'm wondering if it's the one you got!
DUDE, some of these babies must have been talking to K (or she's reading HB), b/c I'm getting 6am wake-ups! NOT COOL!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@snowjewelz: Or maybe we put it together wrong? I dk, I have a hard time sucking out of it!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: Cuz we had a cheaper munchkin one from Target at first and we def could not suck anything out of that one ourselves!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@josina: room temp, water is stored in pantry so her milk is always room temp
eggplant / 11861 posts
@josina: We tried Nuby first too and G didn't like it, I got Playtex and she does great it sucks super easy

@FaithFertility: What you are doing seems pretty manageable. We don't offer a sippy with dinner currently. She does get it at daycare. C tends to drink instead of eat, so I'm trying to avoid that with K.

@MamaG: I am just wondering the same if she is drinking more/less than she should be eating?!
9 month apt can't come soon enough.... So many questions...lol
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: I think technically their main nutrition should still come from milk, but it's not like's she's drinking a lot less, and she is eating, so I think it's alright!

@MamaG: we're at a center as well. Her naps are pretty bad there, but they aren't great at home either. She really only naps therw once in the afternoon about 30 mins or so. But she does doze off in the car to and from each day which is around a 30 mins drive. Plus sometimes she'll take a quick cat nap around 6:30 or so.

@AngelicOne: yay!
the 2nd top tooth is in too now for K. She now grinds her teeth all the time! Does anyone else do this? Should I do something about it?
honeydew / 7283 posts
@snowjewelz: J sometimes grinds his teeth (my 3yo does too). I think they're really just experimenting and I don't think there's much you can do.
Also on the teeth front - Jack is getting his EIGHTH tooth. I think we know where this kid's priorities lie
pear / 1961 posts
@snowjewelz: the tooth grinding is awful, isn't it? but totally normal investigating what they are/how they work. it usually doesn't last very long before they get used to them.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@KayKay: I cringe at that sound!! I always try to get her to chew on something else!
@MrsF: That kid's gonna have the full set by 1!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: ughhhh my bf DD used to do that, the sounds made her cringe
pomelo / 5298 posts
@MrsF: I wish K's teeth were coming in this fast. Although I probably need to stick a finger in her mouth and investigate. Her recent drool fountain has slowed and sleep has improved so she might have more than I last knew of. We were at six teeth and I figured we were working on two more on the bottom.

Ayy, bad nap land over here today. Woke by 6:20, slept for like 20 min in the car around 8-ish, then only took a 40 min nap at my SIL's between 9 and 2. Then slept from 3:30 until DH had to wake her up before 5. Our nights right now are tough too esp since we took off her merlin suit so she's not used to this new found freedom!

I think we are ridiculously close to having a walker. Time to get her some shoes. Life just keeps moving.so.fast!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MamaG: what kind of shoes are best?
And for inside, any recs for like grippy socks or something as it's getting colder here?
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
Haha, so K likes to sleep on pillows! I have a flat-ish body pillow on the side of the bed to keep her from falling off.. In the middle of the night she crawls on top of it and sleeps there. I need to order a bed rail for our bed... Figure it doesn't hurt if we can re-use it when she's in her big girl bed one day!
