@MamaG: "Life just keeps moving.so.fast! " << makes me sad! Where did our babies go! E LOVES walking and is constantly pushing his walker, or anything else that moves around. (high chair, his rocking chair, etc.)
4 out of 5 nights this week E slept through the night! Can't believe it. And it pretty much just happened out of the blue with no help from me - so hoping that can happen for the rest of you!! The only thing that changed, and not sure if it's related is that I went to pumping 2x at work instead of 3, so I'm 'fuller' at night when E nurses and he's getting more milk before bed? (although when we tried supplementing that never helped).
Sending out our sleep dust!

@snowjewelz: Good idea with the bed rail. I hate to admit it but E already dove off the bed once. He sleeps in our bed after his 5/6 am wake-up while I shower, I just line the floor with pillows now just in case but he only woke-up that once before I got to him.

@josina: yes pls throw all the sleepy dust this way!! being full does not help us at all; she has downed 6 oz before bed and nothing really changes. I did read that a lot of babies start STTN naturally starting around 9-10 months, altho I have a feeling K won't till 12+ months. but gooo E!

@snowjewelz: C's first shoes were pedipeds. Adorable shoes but I can't say that I will get the particular style again. She really tore up the soft leather. I'd get something with a rubber toe. I like Stride Rite, Pediped and See Kai Run - generally speaking as first walkers.

@josina: Awesome sleep!!! G has been waking at 6:15-6:30,but is up for the day...lol She used to pass back out for 45mins-hr but seems to be her norm since she STTN, so I will take it!!

@MamaG: Yes, I need to look into shoes, sitter wants them for outside time since she plays out there in grass and is mobile

@MamaG: crazy to imagine these kids walking! J loves to be standing up and is starting to learn how to pull himself up. He doesn't move his feet much though.

@snowjewelz: We've always been very happy with see kai run (had their baby / early walker shoes and now their big kid shoes). They're expensive though so I get their emails and buy them when they're on sale. I'm in the camp of having two pairs of nice shoes per season and paying more for them.
For when they're really just learning to walk though - I think bare feet as much as possible is best!
pomelo / 5298 posts
I misspoke, C's first shoes were see kai run. What I didn't like about them is they are the metallic leather. And while he leather is soo soft and wonderful, it scuffed really easy. I'll post a picture in a minute. So I'd probably stay away from the metallic leather again

@MrsF: I agree with barefeet! Daycare disagrees with me. Once they can walk they require shoes. That's why K currently doesn't have any shoes
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: @MamaG: Thanks for the rec's! I'm def camp bare feet too, till it starts to get cold! Then she needs either nonslip socks or soft sole shoes even for inside as we have hard wood.
pomelo / 5298 posts
@snowjewelz: Non-slip socks. I like Old Navy. For C as a baby we used a lot of Carters, but I've pretty much avoided that store recently.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@MamaG: @snowjewelz: Yeah - I can see how daycare would change things. We have hardwood too but it was too slippery for M to learn to walk with socks on (even nonskid) and hard to learn to balance with shoes. We'll see how J is!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@MamaG: All of M's shoes looked like that! She was a very late walker and we used to go to a playground with a blue play surface. All of her friends could walk but she just crawled around and had blue on the tops of all of her shoes and on the knees of her pants. I was so glad when she learned to walk - for the sake of her clothes!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: Ohh hmm! Well, then I hope her feet don't get cold...! I can't even go barefeet at home during the winter!
@MamaG: Those shoes really are adorable tho!

@josina: awesome sleep!! I keep hoping it will just click with H too, but at this rate I am fairly certain he will only be STTN when he starts high school.
Had his 9 mo appt today - flu shot, Hep B, and hemoglobin prick. He is 30 inches tall, and 19 lbs 12 oz. Such a string bean! He honestly won't sit still for more than a few seconds, so I'm not too surprised that he isn't gaining weight as quickly anymore.
Thanks for all the shoe recs; I've been curious too. He'll be barefoot as long as possible. Ha. And I'm already dreading the days when I can't just keep him in a onesie!

@MrsF: oh my gosh, 8 teeth already?!? Wow!! What a big boy!! H finally got one a week or so ago. Haha. One lone little tooth.

@snowjewelz: we've had really good luck with Robeez or Freshly Picked moccs. I know FP are kind of ridiculously expensive, but I just buy one or two pair of shoes at a time until they are totally worn. K had a pair of Robeez that lasted from 10m-15m (her only shoes then), and then a pair of FP moccs that lasted from 15m to 27m. I finally had to throw the FP away when they wore a hole through the sole. Basically I used the FP if she was inside and needed shoes (daycare, home when it was chilly), although she did wear them outside some too. We also had one pair of crocs that she wore when we were doing to be doing a lot of playing outside (it was summer at the time, obviously!).
For E, I got her a pair of FP moccs for the spring (it was freezing in CO but seemed silly to wear her fleece booties with spring/summer outfits!) and she still fits into them and will wear them all fall too.
K always pulled her socks off, so whether they were grippy or not never really mattered

@KayKay: I sort of forgot about that shoe / sock pulling off phase. I remember when I would get to the grocery store and see that her shoes and socks were off, put them back on, back into the car to go to a friends' house, shoes and socks are off. over and over and over again...
@theotherstark: the onsies are so easy! I love it I never really dress my kids up anyways though so it doesn't get too complicated around here.

We also put moccs on Darcy. I find the soft sole better for new walkers and the elastic band keeps the shoes on. Moccs are really the next best thing to being barefoot.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@KayKay: Ahh I do love FP! I have no idea what the feet growth rate is lol, so if she can get that much use out of it, I'd totally spend the money! Seems like a good indoor/outdoor shoe! Tho we def need boots for winter-winter, even if she isn't walking!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@BandDmommy: Alright, totally convinced to get a pair of mocs now!

@snowjewelz: I prefer jaxhoo to FP but that's just personal preference. :). But we have like 4 pair of FP and 8 of jaxhoo. Jaxhoo is more like $40 a pair. FP is $60 a pair.
pear / 1961 posts
@snowjewelz: the robeez fit similarly to the FP (very floppy, good leather sole, elastic to keep them on well) and are definitely cheaper. just maybe not *quite* as cute plus i like the solid color options of the FP...although i think robeez makes some more versatile ones now.
pear / 1961 posts
@banddmommy: some of those jaxhoo ones are super adorable! whatever the french brand that jcrew crewcuts sells has some great ones too. again, expensive. although price keeps me from buying WAY too many pairs!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@BandDmommy: Cute!! I just added them on IG and coincidentally their shop closed lol. Next time!
pomelo / 5660 posts
@snowjewelz: yes, she sells out pretty quick. I am ordering a pair of the nude with a bow next time her shop opens.

@theotherstark: So long! His 9 month pic is adorable such a little man

Bahhaha I need to do some research I have no idea what FP, jaxhoo are

Our daycare wants shoes once they start playing on the playground outside and since she's still on the tiny baby class I feel like we have a few months still. We've yet to put a single pair of shoes on her and I'm not really looking forward to dealing with them. Although tiny shoes are so adorable!

@josina: Share that STTN dust with M! He still wakes once or twice a night to eat (or because he's uncomfy and can't flip back to his back)
@BandDmommy: Those shoes are adorable!
@MrsF: M is pulling himself up on things (mostly me) too. Can't believe these babes are getting so big!
