@mamag: @snowjewelz: I guess I won't worry too much about it then. Especially since mine was pretty mild and I kept it pretty controlled with my diet. Plus I don't really have the main risk factors. Really I was more surprised it wasn't mentioned than anything else.

@FaithFertility: aww I am so sorry! I know this stuff gets us moms all stressed out even if it's no big deal!

Giving the swaddle one last try. The miracle blanket. Let's hope for one.

@winniebee: Fingers crossed for you!
I'm nervous about tonight because my little guy has been snoozing all day long. But I think he might also be sick... he's congested at least. So maybe he'll still sleep tonight despite sleeping all day. Fingers crossed.

@winniebee: ahh, good luck! I hope you get some longer stretches with the swaddle.

Having to get up in the middle of the night to nurse while sick blows. That is all.
nectarine / 2053 posts
You guys... Micah only slept on one hour increments. I am so tired!

@Adira: I thought only the lil one is sick! You got it too? I am so sorry!

@whenoceansrise: growth spurt? I hope he naps longer today so you can rest!

Sorry everyone is sick, we are still dealing with the same here. I really despise doing MOTN breathing treatments. It seems like after we do them, her coughing resurfaces and she wakes up. She needs rest! Needless to say, I slept great from 11 - 2, after that all bets were off. I wish I could nap, but working from home.

Boooo sorry for those that are sick, big and little!
@whenoceansrise: Man I am sorry!!!!
@MamaG: sorry
nectarine / 2053 posts
@snowjewelz: maybe. He will be 6 weeks on Tuesday, but he didn't really act hungry. He'd wake up and grunt until I picked him up and he's nurse for like 5 minutes and fall asleep while I rocked him then we would repeat that process every hour.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@whenoceansrise: Ugh, I'm sorry! That sounds exhausting!
@snowjewelz: @BandDmommy: Yeah, last night I started to feel a little stuffy and then when I woke up in the middle of the night, I felt downright sick.
@MamaG: I don't know if they mentioned it, but albuterol does make their heartrate go up, so I imagine that might make it difficult to sleep! Poor baby.
Looks like yesterday was a fluke. We're back to not napping!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@whenoceansrise: I read that growth spurt can be characterize by constant nursing, sleeping a lot, or sleeping very little. I still have no idea if I can blame any of anything on growth spurt haha!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: I hope it doesn't get worse! I'm trying now to pay more attention to her cues and her schedule so I don't stress myself out too much when she doesn't want to sleep? I'll see how that goes. She took an hour nap this morning till now.
pomelo / 5298 posts
@Adira: Yes, on the heartrate. I think the first couple of nights she was just feeling so ill that she just slept. Whereas now she's coming on the other side of things and starting to work through the illness. The breathing treatment results in much coughing and sometimes sneezing, which makes her unsettled and difficult to get to sleep. The treatments are also giving her excess air (particularly if she cries through it), which leads to gas discomfort.
I'm hopeful when we go back on Monday that we will be off treatments or at least spreading them further apart so I won't have to wake her for this process.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MamaG: Ugh, I can imagine that it's so much worse for an infant than a toddler. I'm sorry! I hope she feels better soon and you're able to stop doing at least the MOTN treatments.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@MamaG: that must be so hard! I hope she's off the treatments soon and this is all just a bad memory!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Wow, Logan must be sick. He just took an almost three hour nap!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: I just wish I had known he was going to sleep so long! I could've taken a shower after I had lunch, but I was worried he'd wake up at any minute.

I am sorry for all the sick mamas and babes Stinky!!!
I am driving myself crazy over analyzing her neck and head placement.... Wednesday can't come soon enough, I just want to make sure I am not making her head mishaped and helping her not hurting her, one thing about being a new mom is I feel the Dr. talks to you as if you have done all of this before.
I am just doing my best! Poor girl she will get all cozy on my chest and I think.... is she facing the wrong way for her neck? But if she is then it is the side of her head she favors....ughhh I just want to cuddle her and not worry!!!!
Sorry for rant, DH is over me talking about it...lol

@FaithFertility: I tried to make light of my worries with C at the peds office. I would come in with my list and say something like, I'm sure this is all nothing, but this is my first time doing this and then start into my list. Our ped would nod his head as I went down the list and most things would just say, "yes, normal". They see so many kiddos sometimes they need reminding of your situation. Make them slow down for you and treat you like the first time mom you are
And I hope everything goes smoothly next week. K has a spot on her forehead/hairline where it's a little sunken and I keep forgetting to ask about it (second time mom with too much on the brain!).

@MamaG: Thanks it is just so much, of course I knew I'd love/care about her but......man it is a level I never knew

@Adira: ugh I know. So many missed opportunities bc we don't know how long exactly they are out for!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: aww hang in there! I'm a little nuts at the doctors too asking the most trivial things! Can you move up the appt?

@Adira: sucks you are sick!!! Any way you can get more rest this weekend? We were all sick recently including Ryan and it was not fun.
@whenoceansrise: that was us last week. So bad. So bad. I'm sorry.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
The miracle blanket was not a miracle, but it was pretty darn good. Ryan slept 3.5, 3, 2 and then 1.5. (Though I ditched he swaddle after the first two).... I'm going to keep using it for now. However Tyler was up from 4-6 which is very out of the ordinary and my husband was paged twice. Very tired mama here, as usual.

@FaithFertility: I'm sorry you are stressed but I bet you are doing just great! Hang in there.

Bah, I am sorry so many are sick! H has been super congested today, so I'm cranking the humidifier and hoping that things don't get worse!
Sorry for the shoddy sleep, @whenoceansrise: Hopefully tonight is better.

@winniebee: you just cannot catch a break! I am sending all good sleep vibes your way.

So, dumb question, but how did everyone meet mom friends?? None of my friends have kids yet, so I need to actively seek out moms, haha. I've searched on FB for groups, but I am not really seeing anything local (or maybe I'm just missing it). Maybe it will get easier when everyone is outside more in the spring and summer? And once we hopefully start doing more activities?
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@theotherstark: I'm not the first with kids/babies, BUT none of my friends are very local. I am part of a local moms group but they don't meet up. However the local baby wearing group I joined meet up so maybe try searching for that! Does your library to mommy & me things? I got a flyer for that and that could be a good way to meet other moms with similar aged kids! Lastly I saw this on TV a while ago -http://fit4mom.com Not sure if it has locations by you! I was interested in doing this maybe in the summer!

@theotherstark: I'm looking to do music classes and yoga ....when I'm ready to bring her out
