Been up for two hours for MOTN feed and two outfit changes due to spit up. I miss sleep!

@whenoceansrise: Yikes! I hope you are back asleep by now!
So I'm excited! Logan only nursed 8 times yesterday instead of his usual 9 and he still slept almost 6 hours! So maybe we are finally starting to be able to go longer between feeds!

@whenoceansrise: yikes!! Hope you are doing better now!
@Adira: yay!! 6 hours is great!! How snowed in are you??
What are you guys using to keep tracknofnyour freezer stash? With LO #1 I jst had a long list/ but I feel like there should be a better way! Ideas?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@cheert16: I forgot to check the snow when I was up! I'll look outside when I get back up to pump. What's it like for you?
I never tracked my freezer stash last time. I would just count all the bags when I was curious how much I had!

@Adira: snowy! but not as bad as I thought! Of course I am laying in bed on theb2nd floor of my house so I can't really tell the total!

I hear the wind... Really strong gusts!
Ugh tonight sleep is back to 3 and 2 so far. And I was too sleepy to put her in pnp..

K sleep is horrible! She just now slepf for an hour! And I really haven't slept all night. If she is next to me then I'm waking up constantly with her moving and making noise. Then if I move her to pnp, then I become so awake and also cant sleep if she is making noise. I am so tired yet I can't sleep!

Great dr appointment yesterday, Ks lungs were completely clear and we were released back to daycare and work. She also had a good sleep night. Went down around 11:00 and is still snoozing at 6:10. I need to wake her soon to get ready for the day.
My throat hurts so I think I have my DHs latest round of sickness.
Hope everyone has a great day and the snow in the northeast isn't horrible.

We got some snow but it's not terrible. DH is at work already. B is already hyper so it's going to be a loooooong day. Hoping roads aren't bad so we can head out to gym this afternoon. I found this great studio and I've been attending mommy boot camp or some other class everyday. I've lost all my baby weight but I'd still like to lose more...

@whenoceansrise: ugh - I hope you got back to sleep!
@Adira: very nice!
@cheert16: we have 14 inches and could get another foot! I'm just thankful we still have power so far. I basically cooked for the week yesterday just in case!
@snowjewelz: so sorry for the rough night
@MamaG: that's great news from the Dr and great sleep!

We had an amazing night last night. I'm almost afraid to put it in writing. Put him down at 8pm right after big sister went to bed. He was up by 10 so I was worried about the night. Fed him and he slept until 6:30!! Of course I was leaking everywhere. Nursed him and then pumped 8oz
9 weeks is treating us well so far!

@MrsF: Us too!!!!! Bed at 10 woke at 5 and back to sleep until 8 I was shocked!!!!!! Boobs not used to it, so Def if this continues I'll be pumping! Yay for your sleep as well!!!!

@Adira: That is great!
@snowjewelz: sorry!!!! Hope tonight and today are better for you!
@BandDmommy: Good for you losing baby weight, I'm getting there about 15 to go to make me happy, we do daily walks but I'm hitting the gym starting this weekend! Having my mom hang out with G so DH can show me some good routines! He is a gym rat....lol
nectarine / 2631 posts
@MrsF: now that I am downstairs I can see we have over 2 feet of snow!! Didn't look like that much from upstairs! Also I am super jealous that you pumped 8 oz at once!!!!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@FaithFertility: that's great! Yay for sleep!
@cheert16: that's a lot of snow! I've never pumped that much before - I was happy to add that to the freezer.

J has been getting a bottle at least once a week for the last 6 weeks or so but he's been really unhappy with the last few. I'm never in the house when he gets them so it's hard for me to help DH figure it out. He says he just really never gets into a rhythm and gets really upset
I feel like there are so many variables - trmperature, how hungry he is, the nipple flow, the bottle itself, the position - I don't know where to start! I go back to work in 3 weeks so we're going to have to figure it out.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MrsF: Us too, my mom said it also is the stimulation of nursing that some babes look for too, G will take 3-4 Oz and still cry after as if just wanting the boob.....it's so hard to figure it all out, wish we could just ask them
nectarine / 2631 posts
@FaithFertility: @MrsF: emily is the same way- we have been giving her a bottle a day so she is ready for me to go back to work. I really think though she just likes the comfort of nursing- even if she doesn't eat that much!

@mrsf: @faithfertility: those are awesome nights of sleep! glad you guys are getting some good rest. E is consistently sleeping 7ish hours for her first stretch, eating quickly, and then going back to sleep. She has been waking up around 6a for another feed, but I have been treating it as a MOTN feed and putting her back down for an hour instead of getting her up for the day. Not too bad!
@mrsf: with K, we moved up to the medium flow nipples pretty early on because she was used to my fast letdown. it's at least an easy/consistent thing to try?
E had her 2 month checkup yesterday. 10lbs 11oz and 23.5 inches. She's a pound lighter but 1.5 inches longer than her sister was at the same point!! I told her she better not get used to being in the 80th percentile for height...being as I'm only 5'2.

So jealous of those of you getting good sleep! I'm going back to work on Friday and am worried about being totally exhausted!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
Ryan slept all day yesterday but we had a good night for us - 3.5, 2, 2, 2. And no colossal overnight spit up and no randomly up for 1.5 hours. That must sound horrendous to most of you but it was good for us :(. I'm going to the LC on Friday to see what she says about latch, spit up, and frequent night wakings. I suspect an upper lip tei that's mild and that our ped wasn't concerned about. I can hear him swallowing air sometimes when he feeds and maybe this is causing the spit ups and gas and frequent nursing in the night. Maybe I'm looking too hard for answers.
Glad for those getting good stretches!
We are getting hammered with the blizzard DH is actually home now and took Ty to play outside and now we are all watching toy story

@snowjewelz: @whenoceansrise: Sorry you guys didn't get good sleep last night! Ethan has finally started giving me 1 good stretch of 4 hours, and he's 9 weeks!
@whenoceansrise: Boo for back to work, it hasn't been too bad for me yet... Super hard to get up in the morning, but once I'm at work and have had my cappacino its not too bad, although this could be a different story once I'm caught up, I may be falling asleep at my desk!
@winniebee: glad you are getting more sleep now too, Ethan's schedule is pretty similar.
Waaah! I think I'm getting my period back already! Was not expecting it so soon! May have to get on BC after all.
nectarine / 2053 posts
@josina: I'll be glad to be on a schedule but man, I can't imagine being away from my baby most of the day. I'm going to miss him so much! Also, I already had my first period. I can't believe it was so soon! We are just going to use condoms because I hate being on the pill
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@whenoceansrise: already! I feel you on the sleep. for me it's when she just had a decent night and I think things are turning around, and then she gives me a bad night that shatters my hope lol.
I have not even thought about being intimate with the hubby.. I keep waiting for her night sleep to be better a few days in a row but it's not happening yet and I'm still exhausted! Plus I still feel pretty awful about my body! Losing weight is currently not even in my thoughts either.
nectarine / 2053 posts
@snowjewelz: same! DH is dying to have sex but I just don't feel sexy right now plus who has time for that when your baby has to be held 24/7!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@KayKay: Good to know! I think next time I'll have DH try a faster nipple. It's so hard because I'm not there when this is going on. I try to ask him if it seems like it's coming too fast or to slow and he just says he doesn't know. So frustrating! Glad to hear you've been getting so good sleep too. It makes such a difference!
@winniebee: Glad your sleep was better and that your DH is home for the blizzard!

Sex, what's that?
Ryan is 7 weeks today and just have us his first social smile. My heart skipped a beat!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@winniebee: and you momentarily forgot your exhaustion after the smile, right? I really hope for you to turn a corner on the sleep issue soon. Hopefully the LC will be helpful.
Intimacy! Ha, DH has decided our girls have sensors. Whenever he attempts to even snuggle one of them starts crying. Out of frustration the other day, he "cried" that he has needs too and those girls need to share. Boo hoo.

@MrsF: Where will your son be when you return to work? Daycare? If so, they might have some insight on the bottle issues. The caregivers see so many babies that they are naturally more experienced at diagnosing some of the feeding things.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@winniebee: You've earned that smile! Things start to get so much more rewarding once they're a little more interactive.

@MamaG: My DH is in grad school at night so he will be here with the kids during the day when I go back to work. He's wonderful with them and I know he'll make it work, but I don't want to leave him with a difficult situation. It's also hard because J gets distressed with the bottle and then my toddler gets freaked out because the baby is freaking out and my DH can't really comfort her because he's fighting with the baby over the bottle. Ugh. The joys of two kids!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@MrsF: Ha @ two kids. My older always decides it's play time and wants me to play with her when I'm feeding the little. The older one told me the other day that the baby cry doesn't scare her anymore, so it's okay if she cries. Oy! I'm convinced within the next 4-6 months though, this two kid thing is going to be awesome to watch. C is so anxious to play with her little sister.

@whenoceansrise: it does suck being away from him all day... I have dh send me snaps during the day so I can see him, and I have photos plastered on my desk and as my computer wallpaper and screensaver. Maybe your GMA can send you photos during the day?

@winniebee: I love Ethan's smiles, best thing ever! He is always so smiley before I leave for work. He is just starting to giggle now (or what I am calling giggles!)
He will occasionally smile at me during one of his motn feedings, makes it a lot better!
