@Ms.Mermaid: being sick sucks - particularly in the winter when the days are so short. Hope you feel better soon!

I think I’m going to try to wait to test until Friday. It’s my birthday then and I have a fun dinner out with my DH and some friends. But then I wonder if I should wait until AF is due -Monday- and just avoid a let down on my birthday?

I’m struggling with hot flashes and nausea at random times mixed with occasional dizziness. I keep hoping it’s the start of a pregnancy - if not, I think I need to see the doctor as this is not really normal for me even when on the tww crazy train. So afraid to get my hopes up since it’s month 6 of trying. Sigh. Sometimes I can’t wait for the tww to end and other times I’d rather not have it end. I think I’m a mental mess this morning.

Keeping fingers crossed for all the December ladies!!!!!

@MrsJBeeG: How many DPO are you? Like 11? I would either test before your birthday (so Thursday), or just wait.

Y’all, my OPKs were alllllll over the place this cycle. I usually get no line, then one faint line, then one solid line. This cycle, I had faint lines for a full week (was testing two times a day at least- I know, exhausting), then a hard line.

I’m hoping my tests weren’t faulty and that we didn’t miss the window. Crossing my fingers though!

Hello December ladies! It's been a few years but we are ready to TTC #2 and I feel like I have forgotten everything. But so happy I thought to join this thread to share the journey. Good luck everyone

    Cycle Day: 6
    TTC Cycle: 1
    Ovulation Date: 12/6
    POAS Date: 12/20
    Baby #: 2

Holiday plans: Christmas in Georgia at home with the in-laws then flying up to Michigan to see my family (crossing my fingers for some snow).

Favorite Holiday dish/cookie: I make a spiced holiday cookie which is a family tradition. I love a peppermint mocha this time of year too!

@Ms.Mermaid: I was thinking tomorrow but since my last bfp was the day before AF was due - I wonder if I might take longer to build up HCG in my system. I’ve been better about just waiting to see if AF shows the last few cycles - I just have so much hope for this cycle that I’m wondering if I can wait ... on the dilemma.

@Kmomartin: That's what I had last month! Faint lines all week and then a full-on dark line that lasted for two days.

    @bluemasonjar: Welcome!

@mrsjbeeg: I'm so bad. I'd probably test on Thursday bc I have no self control.

@afc061018: they really threw me for a loop- I went through so many tests last week!

@mrsjbeeg: it was a new “pack” of the easy @ homes, so I questioned it because my last packs were never like that! Who knows. Add one more thing to the list about TTC that is confusing! Then of course I google furiously and tailspin into... is this a hormonal imbalance? Is my LH starting to get high all the time? :sigh:

@Bluemasonjar: Welcome! How old is your LO? It's been almost 4 years since I read TCOYF and bounced around on these boards and I've forgotten everything and I feel like such a newbie. If you read back a few pages you'll see that we were initially using sperm-unfriendly lube (since its been necessary postpartum) and I was just like, past me would never have done something this dumb!

@Kmomartin: Are you temping as well or just using OPKs?

  14. Kmomartin

    grape / 87 posts

@Ms.Mermaid: not temping- never have- not that I’m unwilling but just haven’t gotten that far into the TTC world. A year ago I didn’t even know what OPKs were, that there was a short period of time each month that we could possibly get pregnant, etc. I feel so new to this game and learn something every time someone comments!

I do really love the support here though- my husband is a little squeamish about all the “cervical fluid” talk hahaha.

@Kmomartin: I temped for one cycle 3.75 years ago and it netted us a successful pregnancy (we were outrageously lucky), but it also made me really kind of nutty and it is actually not doable with a kid who bounces into your bed every morning yelling, "MOMMY DADDY IT'S MORNING TIME!!!" but it might be worth doing for a cycle or two for you. We've never tried OPKs but it seems like a lot of work and a lot of peeing on things and a lot of trying to figure out if two lines are the same color.

Have you read Taking Charge of your Fertility? They have it at the library. (We are from the same town, according to your profile.) It was pretty helpful for me.

@Ms.Mermaid: My DS is almost 2 and a half. The first time TTC I spent months reading and preparing. This time around I remembered to order OPKs and started taking prenatal vitamins but feel like I forgot about all of the other details until I started reading this thread.

Glad we can figure it out together. I did read about the lube and it made me laugh and then go check what kind we are using as well lol

@Bluemasonjar: I actually went back and read through my entire Hellobee TTC thread to try to remember what my symptoms were, etc. then and I had actually talked in there about charting with my mid-cycle pain and I had tracked my nausea. I wish I had read through it maybe two weeks ago rather than just being like, mid-cycle pain means I'll probably ovulate a day or two after and timing based on that.

I am now certified crazy ladies.

I took a test this morning. It was my second pee of the day since I woke up around 0100 with a full bladder. And then I lay away for over an hour. Hate sleeplessness.

I swear I see the faintest pink second line. It came up quickly but is so light, I can’t get it to photograph. And it makes me wonder if I’m totally imagining it. I feel so excited but scared it isn’t a line. Please keep your fingers crossed for me that it is a second line and that it gets darker over the next few days. I will be crushed if I’m wrong and I’m imagining it.

@MrsJBeeG: FINGERS SUPER SUPER CROSSED!! Have you tried inverting the picture to see if the line is more visible that way?

As for temping, the majority of posts I read say it's too intimidating or too much of a hassle, which I completely understand, esp for those with small kiddos or odd/shifting work hours.

For me, though, it's been awesome. I wake at the same time each day, early (4:30 a.m.), so I've gotten into the habit of rolling over, turning off the alarm, and grabbing the thermometer. I lie in bed with my eyes closed (kinda lightly dozing) while I wait for the beep, and then log the number. If it's a morning that I get to sleep in a bit more, I go back to sleep for an hour. Otherwise, I get up. It's been really interesting to watch my temp as the month progresses (maybe because I've so far had pretty typical charts, so they're easy to understand). It's been clear when I ovulated and clear when my temp dropped and AF was going to arrive (sooo I'm hoping it'll be equally clear if my temp stays elevated bc of a BFP!). Before charting, I had the hardest time understanding my cycle, so maybe I'm just really excited to have all this information now. Either way, that's my two cents about temping!

@afc061018 and @ms.mermaid: thanks for the info, ladies! I’ll see how this cycle goes and maybe start temping for the next one. Oh and I ordered the fertility book off Amazon

    @mrsjbeeg: ahhh keep us posted!

Omg. I think it’s real!!! Just took an opk this afternoon - 12 hours after this morning and the line is still light but there. I’m so shocked and scared and happy!!!

It’s only 11 dpo I think - happy since a later positive ended in a miscarriage.

Since tomorrow is my birthday - I’m thinking of waiting to tell DH until sometime tomorrow. What do you ladies think?

  23. MrsJBeeG

    clementine / 787 posts

I have one FRER saved. Thinking I’ll use it tomorrow - might get a darker line with it. It’s crazy how much darker my line is in 12 hours - I kept thinking all day today - maybe you just imagined it.

@Kmomartin: I just bought an ava bracelet, from a momma on here actually. And it's been super easy, but they're expensive. I tried to do temping to avoid and it was just too hard with a toddler. But I can remember to put on a bracelet at night!

Now I'm all worried that I've not ovulated yet and it's day 16 😂😂 I just can't win with ttc always obsessing about something

@MamaBear87: I think if you look up ttc in a dictionary it has synonyms like obsessing, crazy ...

@MamaBear87: I don’t have creative ideas. Maybe I’ll use post it notes like Bernadette did on Big Bang Theory? Lol. I just thought when he sings me happy birthday in the morning - I’ll hand him a card that says he’s given me the birthday present ever. Could be too sappy though?
