I'm about to lose it with this lack of sleep. I am sure everyone who has a child knows how crappy sleep deprivation makes you feel and I'm not sure how much longer I can take it! My main question is: I think that LO is overtired and that is leading to her frequent night wakings. We sleep trained at 5 months, she is 7.5 months old now. I am not comfortable with letting her continue to cry in the MOTN for 1.5-2 hours. CIO is clearly not working for her. She is EBF. I have tried feeding at the first wake up. That just starts our night earlier, and after that she is up every 2 hours. I have tried setting a time (no nursing for 5 hours--she is quite capable of this, she has done it many times, but hasn't in a while), but all that leads to is her crying off and on for 1.5 hours until she finally falls asleep for 15 minutes and then starts up again. I have tried sending my husband in to comfort her, she isn't comforted by him anymore. I haven't slept longer than a 3.5 hour stretch since she was born and I feel like I am dying.
I know consistency is key and we are very consistent, we give each new attempt at least a week to work. Is it fair to even assume that she knows when to eat and when not to eat? Like, when she wakes up way before our set nursing time, I feel like she is just crying like...um, hello? are you coming to nurse me? because of course, she can't tell time, she's a baby.

Also, I think our timing might be weird with bedtime. She is still on 3 naps a day. I would like to go down to 2, but with her CRAPPY night sleep, she really has a hard time staying awake long enough to only be on 2 naps a day. Also, her naps are pretty short, so it would make bedtime like 5. So, no. Anyways, she usually wakes from her 2nd nap around 1-2. We obviously can't keep her awake until bedtime, so I offer a cat nap around 4-5 of 30 minutes (she never sleeps longer than that anyways at that time). But then, we usually keep her up another 2.5 hours until bedtime. Should we be putting her to bed earlier?

If this doesn't improve soon, we are going to hire a sleep consultant. I just feel like we are missing something. Anyone recommend a company?
