@Pumuckl: thanks for getting this started!
Location:NYC
EDD:2/6--I've been posting in the January thread as well since lo1 was born via induction at 37 weeks due to low fluid, so I wonder if this lo will be born early again too
How far along: 5 weeks 5 days
First child? second!
First doctor appointment: 6/23, which seems so far away still! my dr used to have her first appointment be scheduled for 6 weeks, but now it's 8 weeks apparently
Any symptoms so far? not as many as with lo1! some nausea but no vomiting yet, fatigue, sore breasts. bloating and quite a bit of discomfort/gas pains at the end of the day
Who have you told? just dh so far, my dentist (I was getting some cavities filled), and my personal trainer. telling my parents this week!!

First child? Nope, no. 3, I already have a boy born in 04/2013 and a girl born in 01/2015.
First doctor appointment: I'll go in this upcoming week for bloodwork and for my first u/s 06/29. Feels so far away, my old OB used check for an inuterine pregnancy around 5w3w.
Any symptoms so far? I had some pretty intense cramping until two days ago. Other than that not much except for a little tiredness.
Who have you told? Only DH, we'll tell our parents and siblings after our first u/s and everyone else after the NT scan incl. work.
@nana87: so happy for you, I am not sure how it'll go for us my first was late and my second earlier so we'll see. Just hoping to not getting put on modified bedrest again.
@gentlelunette: How cool of a due date is 02/14? Congrats!

@Pumuckl: congratulations to you too! I really hope baby comes on his/her due date. That would be fun
So far, we are all second(or third) time moms!

Well I will break the second or third time mom streak!

First child? Yes!
First doctor appointment: Don't know yet.
Any symptoms so far? I've been having weird mild cramping that feels lower than AF cramping for the last four days or so.
Who have you told? Just my husband.
I only got my positive Saturday, so I think I'm still in shock!

First child: No, I have a 2.5 year old
First appointment: Next Tuesday! I'm so anxious. I'll be 7w2d and I wonder if they'll do an u/s. Maybe I should just call and ask.
Any symptoms so far? Insane fatigue, nausea, some food aversions
Who have you told: Husband, both sets of parents/siblings, one of my friends.

It's been quite a road, but I am hopefully joining this club. Congrats to all!
Location: California
EDD: February 11th
How far along: 5 weeks, 5 days
First child: Second! DD turns three, next month.
First appointment: 7/11 - free slurpee day! I'll be 9 weeks, which seems so late. But my practice doesn't schedule the first appt with u/s until 8 weeks, and my OB and I are both out of town the week prior. Fingers crossed I don't stroke out from nervous impatience.
Any symptoms so far? Bloated, already. My boobs seem to be on steroids (huge, veiny, blech). Could also sleep 18 hours, a day. Nausea is mild and comes and goes but it didn't get gnarly with DD until about 8 weeks, so I'm not holding my breath.
Who have you told: My husband, mom and sister. And a few fellow birth season mamas I chat with, on the regular.

I'm super nervous to join, but I might as well.
Location: Northern MN
EDD: Approx 2/16, but it's hard to know for sure because we did IVF.
How far along: 4 weeks, 6 days
First child? No, DD just turned 4
First doctor appointment: Ultrasound on June 30
Any symptoms so far? Hungry all the time and periodic nauseousness (but fairly mild). Also, exhausted in the evening.
Who have you told? Probably too many people! We have been trying for almost 3 years, did 2 IVF retrievals and transfers (which failed) and this successful frozen embryo transfer. So, my support group has been here with me every step of the way. We will wait awhile to tell our parents.
I can't wait to share this crazy journey with all of you!

@MrsA: @deerylou: @NorthStar: So glad to see our group is growing! Welcome and congratulations.
FX all goes well for all of us.
I just hate this phase of pregnancy when you don't have any feedback on whether all is well or not. I love me some rib jabs
pea / 12 posts
Thanks for the welcomes, @Pumuckl and @GentleLunette!
And totally agreed about the no feedback part, it's kind of terrifying. I'm still having super-mild sort of cramps (the fact that I was having them and they felt different than AF cramps were the first legit symptom-spotting I had) is sort of reassuring, but even still I'm trying to keep myself from taking a pregnancy test every morning.

Congrats @gentlelunette: @Pumuckl: @Cowandpig: @MrsA: @deerylou: @NorthStar: !! So excited for all of us
And also agree on the no feedback part being difficult. I feel so differently this pregnancy than I did with my first so it's not even like I can look at my symptoms as being reassuring. Today's major symptom, or who knows maybe it isn't related, is a massive daylong sinus headache. I'm in an intensive training workshop all week as well for work and it is exhausting!

First child? I've had one early loss and a stillbirth at 24 weeks.
First doctor appointment: June 27 with my ob for the first U.S. Not soon enough.
I've had a phone consult with my NaPro doc who will monitor my hormones to make sure they stay high enough (so far so good). She offered to order an earlier US if I have anxiety waiting until 8 weeks, but I know (from my first loss) how confusing early scans can be so I'd like to wait. But the anxiety is sort of building...
Any symptoms so far? Off and on nausea and cramping. Some insomnia. My boobs are getting more sensitive. Insane sense of smell
Who have you told? DH, my mom, SIL, and a handful of friends. I'm more eager to tell people this time, DH is more hesitant
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@Cowandpig: The no pregnancy tests after the is the one rule I stick to because it would otherwise drive me bonkers.
@nana87: so sorry about your sinus headache. Hope today is a better day.
@MaryM: so happy to have you here! I totally here you on the not soon enough u/s. My old OB used to do an early u/s and while with my first it caused a scare (there was nothing to be found) it was still easier than to wait this time... Glad your docs are closely monitoring you this time!
pomelo / 5129 posts
@Pumuckl: not only am I trying to wait for the US, but I'm also on hcg so even POAS is useless!
I've been off work much of the time since we've found out. Hopefully once I'm busier it'll be less frustrating

Congratulations, everyone!
Today is rough on the nausea front. I had nausea and vomiting all through my pregnancy with DD and was stupidly hopeful I'd avoid it this time. Yuck.
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@MaryM: oh boy that sounds so stressful. I really hope all continues to go well for you.
@MrsA: sorry to hear about the nausea already kicking in. I am not one to get terribly sick so I have no advice.
kiwi / 698 posts
@deerylou: Welcome and congrats! I feel you on the bloat. I'm 5w1d and honestly, my pants hardly fit. It's atrocious!
@NorthStar: congrats! Sounds like you've been on quite the journey! Hoping for a very happy and healthy 9 months for you!
@MaryM: welcome! So happy to have you here. I'm so sorry to hear about your losses. Sending all the good vibes for a healthy 9 months! Glad to hear your doctors seem to be on top of things so far.
As for me, I have my first appointment booked with my midwife on July 12. Don't think I'll get an u/s before 12 weeks unless I call my GP and pretend like I don't know my edd. lol! Midwife won't see me until 8 weeks...
pomegranate / 3601 posts
How's everyone coping with the angst of the wait until they see the baby? I try to keep busy, it helps I work and that I have two crazy toddlers, but man I am just so scared that something could go wrong. You would think it gets easier with each pregnancy but it totally doesn't for me. Another 13 days of uncertainness. But whose counting...
pea / 12 posts
Not too well, Pumuckl! lol. I keep trying to symptom spot things like sore boobs or fatigue, and am half-convinced I will magically just...not be pregnant at my appointment next week.
kiwi / 698 posts
@Pumuckl: I'm struggling with this too. I'm so excited to meet this new baby, but also so fearful of something going wrong, whether it's miscarriage or some sort of bad news that arises at an ultrasound. It doesn't help that I work with kids with special needs, so I'm overly aware of all the things that can go wrong throughout the process. It's scary!
pomegranate / 3003 posts
@Pumuckl: Yes, I'm admittedly quite anxious. We actually had a CP last cycle (and another earlier this year) and I truthfully wasn't expecting another pregnancy to happen so quickly. I try to keep busy with my toddler; it helps that the weather has been gorgeous, which tends to lift my spirits. I'm petrified of not seeing a HB on the first u/s, and I still have a loooong three weeks to go.
cantaloupe / 6171 posts
@Pumuckl: I'm nervous too! I had a chemical loss in Feb so this just doesn't feel real yet, I don't think it will until my u/s next week. Especially since my symptoms are still so different from my first pregnancy! I was a complete mess then whereas now I'm functioning mostly fine. I've been keeping busy though which helps. This week I had an intensive work training and next week I'm solo-parenting all week so at least I have my hands full!
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@Cowandpig: @gentlelunette: @deerylou: @nana87: So glad I am not the only one. It must be so much harder when you've had a loss or failed IVF before this pregnancy though!
I was at the doc's today to get my blood drawn not for betas but for CMV. My older LO is chronically positive and as of last year I never contacted it. So we have to check whether or not I have by now or not. (70% of people have a tither - just not me...). The OB came to talk to me and explained that she doesn't like doing u/s too early to avoid not being able to see anything and that she's happy to see me again on the 29th
kiwi / 698 posts
@Pumuckl: What is CMV? Hopefully all tests come back fine! And boo for having to wait for an u/s. It's a special form of torture!
I forgot how much I hated the first trimester. I puked into a plastic bag while driving to work this morning . I only 5+3! I hope this won't be a daily norm for the next 8-10 weeks. Lol!
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@gentlelunette: Oh no, that sounds terrible! Hope it doesn't get worse.
CMV: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_cytomegalovirus
Basically a virus that causes cold/flu like symtoms but can be dangerous for the fetus (leads to learning disabilties, hearing loss etc.) 70% of the population have had an (H)CMV infection and maybe I am lucky and have had one now too. If not it will mean getting my blood drawn and tested all throughout my pregnancy again.
pear / 1881 posts
@Pumuckl: Very anxious over here too, especially after 2 failed IVF transfers. Honestly, my heart hasn't even accepted that this is happening. I didn't have any symptoms the first trimester with DD and so far (knock on wood), I don't have any symptoms this time around (besides being tired). I hope that I will finally believe it once we have our ultrasound on the 30th. I'll be 7 weeks then, so I'm not sure how much we will see?
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@NorthStar: Stick baby stick!!! I think by 7 weeks they hope to see a hearbeat. At my 5w3/4d u/s they always checked for a fetal pole and yolk sack.
I don't really have any symtoms either except for crazy tiredness and sometimes some queesiness when I don't eat enough.
pea / 12 posts
@GentleLunette oh my god, that sounds awful! I hope your nausea chills out.
kiwi / 698 posts
@Pumuckl: I remember reading an article about CMV, now that I've read that Wikipedia page. Can I ask how you know your daughter is chronically positive? Is that something that gets tested for where you live?
@Cowandpig: I think it's because I took my prenatal on an empty stomach. Big mistake!! I've felt okay since, thankfully!
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@gentlelunette: ha, that's quite a story. The short version is that he was having petechia and was running a high fever with which the ped sent us to the pediatric ER (could be signs of meningitis). They checked his blood and found the CMV infection. He was continuously monitored and the virus was still detectable in his urine. At some point the docs started calling it chronic. We'll have to get him retested though in the next couple of weeks.

The nausea has begun so I figured it's time to post now! Congrats to all the February mamas!
Location: NC
EDD: 2/14
How far along: almost 6 weeks
First child? No--DD will be 2.5 in February
First doctor appointment: 7/7
Any symptoms so far? Nausea and bloating. I felt great until yesterday and then it hit! Hoping it won't last long.
Who have you told? Besides my husband, I've told one close friend and one person at work.

@babybean404: yay, happy to see you here! Congrats again and boo on the nausea.

So I just got a call from my OB that I have a CMV tither! We'll still do regular controls but it won't be as crazy at it was with LO2 (J)! So relieved that I don't have to worry about that. Luckily it's not an acute infection so really I am just so happy.
How was everyone's weekend?
Although after tonight it's a good thing I am already pregnant because after a night a like that I would really question a third Boy, they slept terrible, both of them. J is teething and has a cough and B just had a random bad night. Overall it was maybe 3 hours of sleep combined.

Ahhh! Excited to be joining a due date thread again! Didn't expect to be here after only 1 month of NTNP.
Location: Iowa
EDD: Feb. 22nd
How far along: 4 weeks, 5 days
First child? I have a 13 yr old step-daughter, and 18 month old DS
First doctor appointment: Have to schedule yet
Any symptoms so far? I had cramping the week before I tested, other than that, nope. With DS I was pretty symptom-less for awhile, hoping I'm as lucky this time.
Who have you told? Too many, lol Had to tell my dad/mom/sisters on Father's Day. DH told 1 friend. And 1 other girlfriend since she asked.
