My DH always laughs when people talk about the growth percentiles and he says, "Everyone's kid seems to be in the 99th%ile somehow!" So I want to do an informal poll to see if the percentiles really fall like a bell curve the way that they are supposed to.

A her 2 year appointment in December DD was 99% for height and 87% for weight.
She's wearing a mix of 4T and 5T...

At her 4 yo checkup, DD was 96% for height and 91% for weight. She's in size XS or 6 already, which is driving me crazy. She's sized out of all the cute T-sizes, which often seem way more age-appropriate.

She's consistently been somewhere in the 70th percentile for weight and in the 80th percentile for height. Her 18m appointment is in a week and I'm curious about her weight now.

We rarely look at the girls' percentile... Our doctor always focused on showing us where they are on their own projected growth curve. I think they're both below 50% for height and 40-50% for weight.

DD - 86% for Height, and 95% Weight

@Adira: nope! I've got two true peanuts, and a third child on the small side of average!
DD1 (almost 5): 3% weight, 30-40% height
DD2 (almost 3): 20% weight, 40% height
DD3 (6 months): below the 0% line in both weight & heightAll three were born on the bottom of the growth chart or below; DD1 caught up around 3.5 years, DD2 caught up a lot faster (by 1.5), and DD3 isn't scheduled to even get on the chart for a loooooong time.

While little, they were both in the 90th range. As they've grown, they are more 50-60%

@Adira: Nope! Neither of my boys have ever cracked 10% for weight. Their heights are all over the place because my family doctor is REALLY approximate about measuring heights, it makes me crazy. They've always been 99th percentile for head size, though - B (3) can fit in 12-18 month pants (waist, not leg) but when we bought him a helmet for skating we had to buy an adult size small!

@erinbaderin: giggling and nodding at the "approximate height" bit - DD3 mysteriously somehow lost half an inch between appointments at one point. Last I checked, kids lots weight, but generally not length!

At his 3 yo check up my son was: 68% for height and 82% for weight.
He used to be more even between the two and hung around the middle, like 60-70%, but he is a super muscular kid (I've never seen such a solid toddler) so I'm guessing that's why his weight has moved up in percentiles.

LO1 - 5% weight, 30ish% height
LO2 - 25% weight, 35% height
LO3 - 15% weight, 40% height -

My 2 yr old is in the 95% for height and the 25% for weight.

My DD is 20% for height and weight, my DS1 is 5-10% for height and weight and my 2 month old is so far below any curve. He's on a special growth curve for little people and he's like negative 20% on that.

DS is 2.5, and according to the doctor he is 50% height, 12% weight. Using the same exact numbers, the CDC calculator says he is 87% height and 22% weight (but <2% weight for height!

H is about 75th for height but around 10 for weight which has been his progress all along. So I'm guessing he'll be tall and skinny ;). My husband is 6'1"

Using the CDC chart on his medical chart, LO was 87% for height at his 2 year check up. His most recent weight he was 54% but that was a sick visit and he wasn't eating well. At his 2 year check up he was 64% for weight. The WHO chart puts him in higher percentages.

T (almost 5) - 20th for height, 4th for weight
R (28 months) - 30th for height, 10th for weight -
DD is 80% for height and 50ish for weight. She's 25 months and solidly in 2T clothes.

My daughter usually hovers right around 50 % for height and 5-10 % for weight.

My stats are kinda old (from January at her 9 month check up) but she was:
75% for Height
45% for Weight
...she's tall and skinny like her daddy Her 12 month check up is in two weeks so we'll see where she falls then.

My 4 yo is around 15th %tile for height and weight. She doesn't seem super small to be since she is wearing 4T and 5T clothing, but next to some of her daycare classmates she is really tiny.
My 1 yo is 2nd %tile for weight and below 1st %tile for height. He's the same size as some of his 6 mo friends in daycare.

DD (age 3.5) - ~20% on both as of last appt (I think she's gone down even more since then)
DS (age 4 months) - 10% height, 30% weight -
At last check, B was 48% for height and 31% for weight. A was 25% for height and 11% for weight.

I have two little LOs too!
LO1 (almost 4.5 years old): 5th for weight, 10th for height
LO2 (6 months old): 2nd for weight, 7th for height -
20 months and at the last check up it was like 92% height and 54% weight.

He was 20-25th his first few years, now has been solidly 50th percentile for the last two years.
Not sure what DS2 will be. He's just over 6 lbs at four weeks old. -
@wrkbrk: oh no me neither! Just funny how so many people we know have kids that are 99th %ile.

Ds was 78th for height and 75 for weight at his 3 year check last week.
Dd is 24th for weight and her height was done horribly at her 9 month appointment. She's been trending around 20th percentile but it jumped to like 85th because the receptionist measured her by lying her on the crinkled paper, marking where her feet and head were, then pulled the paper straight. I'll say she's around 20th percentile still.
