We had our first parent/teacher conference with my son's teachers yesterday, and they are concerned about his activity level. I have always known he was more active than any other kids I knew, but it was a bit of a shock to us that he was having a hard time at school because nobody has mentioned anything to us really. They suggested an evaluation by our local child development screening non-profit, and we are also meeting with our pediatrician's behavior specialist.
Does anyone have experience with this process? I am so sad for my little dude. Part of me wants to pull him out of school and just keep him home so he isn't in a setting he can't handle, and the other part of me wants him to stay so he can develop those social skills. I'm having a hard time with the fact that I am not there to help him when he is feeling out of control

Our screening is not directly through the school, but it is through our local school district. I wonder if ours will take that long...it is totally possible. I am glad I was able to go ahead and get an appointment with our doctor. Waiting is so hard for me! haha
