What are your Labor Day plans this weekend? Anything exciting? Maybe share any pictures of where you are going? If it's not a holiday for you, maybe you can share pictures of your next vacation. I'm in a vacation sharing mood today.
Any updates?

No plans here, as it's not a holiday for us this weekend. But we leave for vacation in 13 days! I can't wait!
I'm in the TWW. I did 75iu of Puregon this cycle, and had 4 mature follicles! I triggered on Monday. I hope we caught one! I'm on progesterone for the first time. I asked for it.

We are going camping at the Hood Canal in WA. It's directly west of Seattle but on the other side of Puget Sound. We've never been but heard some good things about it from a coworker. We will be in a cabin so not really camping with tents. My two dogs are coming with and the Hood Canal area is good for clamming, crabbing and oystering (is that a word?). I'm excited. Never caught clams, oysters or crabs before. Wish us luck!
Here is a map of the Hood Canal relative to Seattle. http://soundwaves.usgs.gov/2006/07/HoodCanalMapLG.jpg
Updates for me: None really. I'm on BCP until the rest of this month. I should be getting my IVF calendar soon. Meeting with the financial coordinator next week to review costs again. Make sure nothing has changed since we saw her in April. My IVF coordinator said my ER will be probably be Oct/Nov.

@TheSwissWifeStyle: Oh, where you going in 13 days? Exciting!
on your TWW!! 4 mature follicles is great!! I don't have any experience with progesterone. Hope it's just what you need!

@bluestriped bee: I'm so excited for this new part of your journey!

@bluestriped bee: We are going to Boston and the Cape Cod area (Falmouth) for a wedding. Then Mexico for my first time at an all inclusive resort (woo hoo!) then Miami for 2 nights, then I'm going 'home' to Cuba one last time before my parents leave there in November. ( ) DH is coming back here after Miami, but I'll be gone for over a month, yay!
I'm anxious for you to start with the process! I don't know much about IVF, but I know everyone always seems to go on the pill before hand, why is that?

@TheSwissWifeStyle: Oh, wow! Lots of traveling for you. Sounds like it will be a ton of fun!!
So most clinics put you on BCP before your ER (egg retrieval) so they can quiet your ovaries before all the drugs I'll be taking to create all of those eggs for the retrieval. Also, it helps me get in line with my clinic's ER schedule. I think those are the two reasons.

We're spending the weekend with DH's college friends. Ten adults and 6 little ones ranging in ages from 3 years to 3 weeks. It should be fun.
A lot has happened in the past couple days. We got our date for our consultation with the EA clinic. It's in November. We also started on our home study. I've spent a lot of my free time the last couple days gathering documents. I've almost got them all together. The goal is to be finished with the home study by November. The adoption agency said it shouldn't be a problem at all.

@Leialou: so exciting!! This whole process is so interesting to me, with the home study and adoption agency involvement.

@TheSwissWifeStyle: in your TWW!
@bluestriped bee: Camping sounds like fun! I haven't gone camping in probably 3 years. How are you feeling with moving on to IVF? I was excited at first, then had some doubts, but I'm back in excited mode again now.
AFM, I finished up 14 days of BCP for our IVF cycle and start stims (Gonal F) Saturday. Then go in for monitoring next Wednesday. Nothing exciting going on this weekend (which starts right NOW for me!! ). Just working on the house and getting to sleep in! Just having time off from work is good enough for me these days.
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@Leialou: Woohoo! I love all the progress!
@Shutterbug: Thanks!
@PurplePumps: I'm feeling much better now. The jealousy and pissed off at people who didn't have IF continued from last week. Then I was annoyed my pregnant sister and some comments she made. (It didn't help things at all.) I could tell I was still in that negative and annoyed state on Tuesday so I scheduled an acupuncture appt and she saw me yesterday! I feel so much better now. A lot of that bitterness went away.
Exciting that you are starting stims this weekend. Hope you have a great relaxing weekend.

@Leialou: Our homestudy took 2.5 months and they said that was on the long side, due to a paperwork snafu. I hope yours goes more quickly than ours and very smoothly. Everyone says it, but it's really true, try not to stress about it too much!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
@Mrs. Jacks: thank you! So far it hasn't been as big of a deal as I made it out to be in my head. That's seems to be the case with a lot of things. The paperwork has been easy to gather, we've handed out reference letter forms to a few people, and have our fingerprint appointment scheduled. My contact at the adoption agency replies to my emails quickly too, so I've been getting my questions answered without any difficulty.

@bluestriped bee: Love the new profile pic!!
We have a lot going on... DH gave notice at work yesterday, we pick up our new car tonight (I've never had a brand-brand new car before!), RE tomorrow to check on things and then heading to NH with a brief stop in Maine for the long weekend!! I'm guessing the RE will have me back again on Tuesday and I'm anticipating IUI Wednesday? (Already?! Where does the time go??). In the meantime, I'm trying to ignore whatever issues are going to come up with switching insurance companies and whatnot... And also ignoring another holiday weekend with BDing around family... Eek.

Feeling pretty bummed out this weekend emotionally. Ten more people I know announced their pregnancies this past week.
We've spent the weekend so far decluttering and major cleaning the house. About 2/3 the way done and exhausted, plus I have work I need to do for Tuesday.

@babycanuck: Wow, 10 is a lot!
DH thought we should take a "month off" since I'm getting settled into my new job. This equates to preseed twice, but nothing else out of the ordinary. It's 4 "long" days, but the days are about the same as my old job, so it doesn't seem long to me. Plus with Labor Day, I get a four day weekend, work 3 days, then have 3 more off. I am hoping that less stress will make a BFP happen. I also read the thread of IF success stories yesterday, and was feeling more positive after reading about many people who got their BFP without huge interventions. Saying some prayers!

Life is still a little crazy since our move, so HB has been off the radar lately. But I definitely have to catch up soon!!
Getting some plans together for another FET try - looks like November maybe. We are hoping to do the actual FET in WI where our embryos are, but need pre-transfer monitoring locally. Any chance anyone can recommend an RE office they like in the Boston area? Wall me with any suggestions. Thank you, thank you!!

Hi all.
Hope you don't mind me jumping in. After we lost our baby earlier this month (from a FET) we're just in limbo waiting around for a period, so we can do our very last FET with remaining emby.
Hate waiting!
pear / 1986 posts
@jaguar: I hate being in limbo-land, too! DH and I just had to have a BIG talk tonight to decide when to try for the next FET. I hope AF shows up for you and you can try again soon! And I am so sorry for your loss .

@PurplePumps: How are your stims going so far?
@GreenThumb: Yay for projected November FETs!
@bluestriped bee: Glad you're feeling better! Hope you and DH had a relaxing weekend!
@TheSwissWifeStyle: Safe travels!!! FX that this cycle is "it"!
@Leialou: I'm so glad your process is going smoothly! Does the organization you're working with do mostly open or closed embryo adoptions?
I worked this weekend and had dinner with my parents and in-laws today. Nothing too exciting, unfortunately...

@jaguar: Icky, nasty waiting... Will you try to schedule your next cycle in sync with your natural cycle? I'll be taking BCPs, myself.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
@jaguar: waiting is the worst!
@FliegepilzHut: I'm not sure. That's something I'll ask when we have our consultation in November.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@FliegepilzHut: day 3 of Gonal. I hate needles so this is sucking. DH is getting the hang of it, but I can't imagine having to do it myself. Our weekend wasn't too exciting either, painted the house, cleaned, 4 loads of laundry and just reinstalled my cabinet doors. yay.... lol.
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@PurplePumps: At least your weekend sounds seriously productive! There was an earlier thread about dealing with the rough parts of IVF. I hope you're using some serious distraction techniques, ice, etc... It makes things so much better...or at least did for me.
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@GreenThumb: Yeah, it's such a huge decision to make on timing. Urgh!
@FliegepilzHut: I don't really HAVE a natural cycle (no o/periods naturally) so it'll be Provera to bring on period at the end of the month... then Letrozole/Femara days 2-6 to hopefully induce O. Then we'll just have to time it with a cycle, IF i ovulate. Nothing happening here til mid-November, I reckon.
nectarine / 2600 posts
So, I've been on progesterone since O...does anyone else get really, super bloated while on it? I keep staring at my "water bump" in the mirror, and pretending I'm pregnant. It's seriously HUGE.
bananas / 9229 posts
@TheSwissWifeStyle: I seem to have zero side effects with anything - Clomid, progesterone, etc. I know a lot of people talk about feeling bloated though and that progesterone mimics pregnancy symptoms. Talk about a mind F!
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@jaguar: Oh, yeah... Well, I'm hoping we get to transfer close to the same time (around the last week of November for me, I hope). FX!

DH and I went down to visit friends in DC and Annapolis this weekend. We had a really great time! We stayed with a couple of my best friends and their 18 month old which was a blast. We also got into the city together on Saturday night to go to a couple museums and have dinner. It was great!
As for updates, not too much going on here. I am still on daily Lupron injections. I have an appointment on 09/05 to have my pre-retrieval physical and also my baseline u/s and blood work to make sure I am suppressed. I should be starting stims on Saturday.

@TheSwissWifeStyle: I hope this is your cycle!!
@bluestriped bee: I hope you had fun this weekend! Good luck getting your IVF calendar squared away! I am very hopeful for you!
@Leialou: I'm so excited for you!!
@LindsayInNY: Good luck with your upcoming IUI! Congrats on the new car! That's so exciting! I hope you had a great time in NH!
@babycanuck: Pregnancy announcements always seem to come in large clusters like that! I am sorry you're down, it's so hard!
@jaguar: Waiting is so hard! I hope you get to move to your FET soon!!!
@PurplePumps: Sorry! I can't imagine how hard the IVF process is when you hate needles! Glad your DH can help you out! Hopefully not too much longer to go!

@FliegepilzHut: Thank you!!!! I know this cycle kind of snuck up on me!
