My husband and I are TTC baby #2 and our favorite boy name is Max. It doesn't sound good with any of the middle names we like, so we're thinking about Maxwell or some other long version of Max for the full name. If your son is named Max, did you name him "just" Max, or did you use a longer version for the full name? Also, what's your son's middle name? TIA!!
PS--Yes, I know this is silly and doesn't matter yet for us, but it's been on my mind!

My son is named Max... just Max. I liked it better than any long form version. His middle name is Kevin after a family member. I didn't exactly love how Max Kevin flowed but it's grown on me and it was more important to keep the family name.
I think what you pick will work eventually you just have to get used to it!

LO2 ended up being a girl, but our boy name choice was Maxwell James, Max for short. I also loved Maxwell Owen, but his DH vetoed it because his initials would have been MOM and DH thought he would get teased...

My nephew is Maximilian, goes by Max, and my friend just had a Maximus / Max. I think both are very cute.
Eta: middle names are Louis and I'm not sure.

my son is Max. I wanted to name him Maxwell but my husband didn't want to. Now I'm glad he is just Max. We were team green and would have named a girl Maxine and called her Max

Max was on our list but ultimately we did not use it. We would have either used Max as legal name or Maxwell, and called him Max only.

Our son is Maxwell James (James was my dad's middle name) and goes by Max. DH & I love his name Naming a second boy will be difficult if we have to!

Max was on our list, and we would have done just Max. We have a Leo who is just Leo, so I feel ok about the shortened version as the legal name!

I know a few boys named Maxim (pronounced Max-eem, not like the magazine). It's French. Maximillion, Maximus, and Maxwell are all options.
One of my favourite books growing up is "Max helps out." It's about a little squirrel who is houng his dad do some renovation. It turns out it's his room! In our family, whenever we helped my Dad out he's call us Max. We do the same with our cats or our son "helping" too. We like the name, but wouldn't use it an a name for this reason. I wouldn't want to exclude a future boy or girl.

My brother is Maks. His full name is Maksim. That's pronounced Max-eem, not like Maxim the magazine. No middle name though.
