If your almost 6mo ate almost a jar of baby food and then 6 oz of breastmilk before bed, how long would you expect him/her to sleep?
Just curious

@Mrs. Lion: he normally eats some baby food and then 5 oz and only will sleep 6 hours tops. But he doesn't chow down at his first night waking so I'm wondering if it's just habit.

@winniebee: 3 hours max. Food doesn't seem to make a difference.

@FaithFertility: thx! I'm guessing we will see him at 1/2 as usual

We had that appetite last night. Up at 2. And again at 6. Her sleep is off.

@MamaG: sadly this is normal! I think we need to do a little sleep training to eliminate a feed esp if he takes 6 oz before bed.

G chugs milk at night??? I wonder if she truly is hungry or just has no choice to chug it as she sucks?

@winniebee: i've had really good luck lately with night wakings. if she fusses, i basically give her 10-15 minutes to sort it out herself (although if she sounds irate, i go to her pretty immediately). if she is still fussing then, i assume she is hungry and feed. but i've only been having to feed once a night for the last week! the rest of them, she falls back asleep within 5-10 minutes usually.

The same as she normally sleeps, maybe less if she gets a bellyache. Definitely learned not to expect more!

@winniebee: I know! We were going from 8'ish to 5'ish with no wakeups. I'm not sure where this new 2am wakeup is coming from. And she just screams until she gets her bottle. I think I'm going to try declining bottles on a going forward basis to see if I can break out of this MOTN feed.
The good news was the 6am wakeup she just played an eventually went back to sleep. But she only slept about 10-15 minutes before I needed her to be up and getting ready for daycare
