@Amorini: when you ordered from IVFpharmacy.com, did you have to get your doctor's OK or just send them the prescription you have? I doubt that my RE would be ok with going with them, but i could save a ton of $$. I'm trying to get my stuff ordered by tomorrow.

Hey girls - just a little FYI. I was just preparing for my tax appointment and I was looking up medical deductions since I've clearly spent a ton on IVF stuff in 2015. I think I read that medicines ordered from overseas pharmacies are not tax deductible. This may be something worth looking into if any of you need to purchase new meds this year and you are looking forward to getting a tax deductible from your high IVF costs.

@AmeliaBedilia: When you ordered your meds from IVF Pharmacy, did it include all the syringes and everything you needed? I am trying to decide if I should go that route or a combo of Winfertility and Freedom..
nectarine / 2192 posts
@NorthStar: I sent a copy of my prescription- they never contacted my doctor directly. It only comes with needles if it comes in the packaging- for gonal f or follistim, it did. Menopur I had to get my own syringes and needles. Ganirelix comes ready to go.

@agold: oh really? I doubt that we will have enough in 2016 (at least i hope not), but thanks for the tip!

@AmeliaBedilia: ok - thank you Have you given any more thought on what you are going to do? I wish you could have your WTF appt sooner than the 12th.
nectarine / 2192 posts
@agold: good point. We don't have enough in HSA to pay for all of it, andwontquaify for the deduction unless things go really badly. Thanks though.

@NorthStar: I go through MDR Pharmacy and they always ask me if I need "needles, syringes or a sharps container" every time I call to order refills. I don't get charged for any of this.
nectarine / 2192 posts
@NorthStar: I'm waiting to hear back on my beta, which will almost certainly be negative. I left a few other questions for him when the nurse calls back. During my long talk with RE on Friday, he suggested we go again for the March retrieval- stims start 2/27. The nurse assured me that he plans very carefully so if there isamedication I need to start sooner, he will let me know.

@agold: ok - I think that I'll do a combo of Winfertility and Freedom and I know that they send everything that I'll need. Just for the piece of mind and not having to track down syringes, I think that I'll do that. Thanks, ladies

@jaguar: lol, me too. Are you testing olaf early?! Or am I the only crazy POAS'er
pear / 1881 posts
@jaguar: So, i totally just saved that pic to my computer desktop so that I could blow up the pic..I see a line!!!
I assume there is one there? The pic is so small on here, so i hope I'm not seeing things
eta - a line this early is AWESOME
pomegranate / 3764 posts
Honestly? If there *is* something, it's a heck of a squinter and could go either way.. I have no idea if I'm completely mental or not. And I don't know why the pics are coming out so tiny!
pear / 1881 posts
@jaguar: I don't think that it's that much of a squinter for only 5dp5dt!
apricot / 344 posts
@jaguar: I agree with the other posts...I see a line! You had a FET right? so no trigger? And, 5dp is way early!!!! Fingers toes and everything else crossed!!!!! and yay for someone else testing early with me!!!!
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@NorthStar: I feel like it's just my line eye!
@waiting4you: Yeah, FET. Meep. I said I would hold out a lot longer... I failed.

@jaguar: I'm not sure but sending lots of prayers for a sticky Olaf!
My repeat beta was 0.83. I'm stopping progesterone. How quickly should I expect my period to come? I asked my RE about a few other supplements, and he recommended three for me and two for DH. I asked about a few options for protocol tweaks, and he starred the luteal estrogen-antagonist protocol from ivfmd.com. We have our appointment 2/12, with stims starting 2/27. So I get a 1.5 week vacation from IVF. I'm hoping all this is easier- I shouldn't need std testing or a saline uterine ultrasound again, and ordering meds should be much easier. I also know we can make good-looking embryos, so hopefully I won't be as anxious this time. For all of you who have done two or more stims, was the second time easier?
pear / 1881 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: You should get your period within 3-5 days, i would think. When my cycle failed, it came within 3 days..I know that it's hard to get right back into it, but hopefully, it will go better. Is DH all on board and ready?
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@jaguar: AH!!! I totally see a line!!
@waiting4you: Today's looks darker. How many days past your trigger are you? Mine stayed in my system until 7-8 days past trigger and then my line started to darken. I never got a negative, before starting to get a positive.
apricot / 344 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: I definitely found my second cycle to be a LOT easier than the first. You know what to expect, you know what the numbers mean, you know how the shots and meds will make you feel, etc. and you have the confidence that the dr. Learned from the last cycle and the tweaks are in your favor. As far as doing them back to back so quickly, can't speak on that. I finished my first cycle the first week of October and started Stims for my second cycle the first week of January. I liked the break, though with the holidays and a death in the family during that time I never got to losing the weight I gained from cycle 1. In that respect, IVF has definitely taken a toll on me.
As for when AF came, about 2-4 days after. And it was kinda terrible. Worse than regular AF. Hopefully you won't have the same issue.
pear / 1881 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: I agree with what @waiting4you: said - AF was super heavy when it did come. i was going through tampons left and right..thinking of you.

@jaguar: De-lurking to say I totally see a line! I didn't even need to zoom in on my phone. I am sending all the sticky dust I can find your way!!
apricot / 344 posts
@travellingbee: tomorrow will be 14 days since trigger. Yes that quite a bit of time, but I'm super sensitive to meds so I kinda don't trust that it's out of my system. Good to hear that you never got a negative though! That gives me a little more confidence. I'll probably test again tomorrow but with an early response test since I'm out of the cheap ones (and still feeling so terrible I'm not really getting out of bed at all)
pear / 1986 posts
@waiting4you: @jaguar: So exciting you two!!!
@AmeliaBedilia: I just got AF today, so three days after I stopped the progesterone. So great that you can get right back into another cycle if you are ready!!
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@waiting4you: I have a hard time believing you'd have a line that dark 13 days after a trigger. What kind of trigger was it? Ovidrel? My fingers are crossed hard for you.
apricot / 344 posts
@travellingbee: they had me take 10,000 units of novarel (HCG). I'm pretty small (4'11" 115lbs or so). But yes, I want to believe it's out of my system by now. will test again tomorrow and see how it goes.
On another note, anyone have any suggestions for the extreme bloating? I'm close to calling the RE because my stomach is so hard and hurts. Getting up and out of bed is becoming a chore.
persimmon / 1132 posts
@jaguar: oooooeeeer! Keeping everything crossed for you!!
@NorthStar: I know you already decided on Win and FF, but to answer your question, I had my RE email in the script. I ordered on Thursday and got a tracking number on Sunday. We'll see how quick it gets here (tracking number isn't saying yet). Anyway, hope these meds get you your BFP!! Are you excited to get started?
@agold: OMG, I'm totally just one step behind you on claiming the medical deduction. I have been keeping a running total and we had well over $40K last year! Most of that is IVF or IVF related (acupuncture, mileage to RE)! The thing about the deduction is that you hardly get back very much (or at least according to my estimate). So saving $500 straight up by using a foreign pharmacy saves me more than the deduction might have a whole year from now. We are hoping to not have that much to deduct this year by way of medical expenses... Stay with us, little bean(s)!!!
@waiting4you: I'm so excited things are looking very positive, though I'm sorry you feel crappy. With your stomach sounding so bloated and hard, I'm worried about OHSS for you! Especially if you're pregnant, things can get bad fast. What did your doctor say?
I have been fine, almost normal, except for some minor symptoms. Okay, except for the bitchy symptom... That one's not so minor. And the majorly anxious symptom (is it one?). The most overwhelming feeling is being so afraid that this pregnancy will suddenly going away. I have a third beta on Wednesday and, if it's okay, I think they'll schedule an u/s the week after. I feel bad that I haven't graduated myself yet from this board, I just don't feel ready to be on a board with regular pregnant girls.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@jaguar: I'm hoping all of the best hope for you and this sticky baby!!
@AmeliaBedilia: So sorry you are going through this. My period came pretty quickly after my failed fresh transfer. I hope yours does too.
@Amorini: I know its not that much to get back. But I'm always happy to have any deductions to throw me into a lower tax bracket if I can. But you are right - if you can save a ton upfront, that's a much better way to go. Hopefully neither of us have enough to deduct next year! I feel so lame, but I'm still keeping meticulous track of my 2016 costs just in case something happens with what I've got going on now and I need to do IVF again this year. Ugh. Go away, negative thoughts!
apricot / 344 posts
@Amorini: I'm worried it could be OHSS too. I'm going to call the dr. First thing in the morning. It's only gotten much worse today. Though I stopped drinking Gatorade because I felt like I was going to explode. Still able to pee frequently and it's clear in color (sorry for the TMI), so I think that's a good sign. Hubby is going to bring me some protein drinks home in the morning and I'm back to drinking Gatorade tonight. Anything else I can do? I've been in bed all day today because I feel too terrible to get up
persimmon / 1132 posts
@waiting4you: I'm so glad you are calling the RE. I never had a chance of pregnancy (did a freeze all), but I was very uncomfortable. Hopefully the RE will bring you in for a u/s to see if you have fluid accumulating in your abdominal cavity. They can drain it out. I never had more than a few mls of fluid, so they never drained me but I was still so uncomfortable (though not staying in bed like you so that's why it sounds like you might be feeling worse than me!). I was peeing clear and very frequently and not constipated, but I still felt bad. One other thing I did was weigh myself in the AM and PM everyday to make sure I wasn't gaining more than 5 lbs in a 24-48 hour period. At one point I did but it went down again so it wasn't too alarming. Yes on the protein drinks, salty foods and lots of Gatorade. No water. Beware of shortness of breathe and more serious symptoms that should send you to the ER... I'm so sorry you're feeling this way. The only silver lining is that you might feel it more because of being pregnant!

@Amorini: thank you so much for this info! I've been awake most of the night and this morning have been staring at a trash can next to me and dry heaving for a bit this morning. Calling dr. At 7:30 when they open.
On a good note, took a test this morning. This time an early results one
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@waiting4you: Pregnant! I knew it! Now, be really careful and better safe than sorry. OHSS gets a LOT worse with hcg in your system. xx
persimmon / 1132 posts
@waiting4you: Yeah, congrats! That makes all of symptoms make sense! Now take good care of yourself and, like @jaguar: said, take every precaution. The trend is for OHSS to get worse before it gets better. Sending hugs and big congrats!
apricot / 344 posts
@Amorini: @jaguar: thanks ladies. Called dr. And he said to come in immediately. He told me not to drive myself, so I'm just waiting for hubby to get home to take me. Not telling him that I've tested. Guess we'll "find out" today since the doc said he's going to my to do labs today now.
