@LibbyLou: ughhh... crap!! That totally sucks! Can you file a appeal with PayPal? I thought they are good at protecting buyers. Or threaten to press charges? I'm pretty sure it is illegal to sell, but.... a lot of people do (guilty) just to try to recoup some cost and it's usually a win win for both parties. Except when you run into dishonest jerks. Sorry you have to deal with that

I had a shit of a morning yesterday trying to do my baseline check. I stopped by Quest for bloods first thing in the morning, and for some reason, the lady there yesterday (who has seen me at least 3 or 4 times in the last 2 months) decided to make a stink about my orders saying "P4" instead of "progesterone". She's like, I don't know what that is so I have to call the doc. I'm like.. its progesterone, she goes, but it doesn't say that so I have to verify. Of course the office is not open at 730AM so she calls the Quest phlebotomist and asks them, and the other lady there sees her and is like who are you calling. She tells her, and she responses with oh it's progesterone.. and she says I know, but I just have to double check. If you KNOW, why are you making such a FUSS!!! So it takes me forever to get checked in........
So that makes me late for my monitoring appointment which I had to book for 8am cause it was the only slot they had. So I run out of there like a bat out of hell to try to make my appointment 15 minutes away and of course there is traffic. But then when I get there, turns out they never put me in the books for an appointment!!! AHHHH!! So finally they tell me they can squeeze me in and to just wait and it'll probably be an hour or so. Greeeeeat... like I don't have a job to get to too!!! ugh.
But anyways, they measured something 11mm, but my RE thinks its a cyst and even if it isn't it wont effect the growth of other follicles so he said we're good to start if I want. So we started stims yesterday. Gosh, I really did not miss those needles.....

@SweetiePie: LOL. I guess. It's a necessary evil, so might as well get on with it. Yea, we're doing PGS. The simpler (cheaper) of PGS/PGD since we're not looking for anything in particular, just hoping to start with a normal embie.

I am SO confused by my blood tests right now. My doctor hadn't relayed the results to me, but I was just checking my Quest Portal.
So on 10/31, my HCG had finally dropped to 2, E2 was 49, progeterone was 1.1 and LH was 9.8 though!! Isn't that high for LH? That's surging right? On it's way up or down I thought cause usually it's like 1 or 2.
I started Estrace that night to supress. Then last thur on 11/10, I went for the baseline check and E2 was 150, but we can't trust that at all since I was taking Estrace, LH was low again like 1 or 2. BUT my progesterone was 12.7!!! Doesn't that indicate ovulation?? But my E2 was only 49 (even though LH was spiking??) when I started surpressing.
And then even though I kept taking the Estrace while starting stims spuposedly so my E2 didn't dip and cause an unnecsesary period, it didn't work and I've been bleeding heavier than I do on my regular cycles! ughhhhhh.
I asked my doc about the progesterone levels too.. waiting to hear back about it. I feel like it's all so messed up taht i shoudl't have started stims right now! Does anyone know what thsoe numbers could mean?! Why woud I be surging when E2 levels were still so low!! And where did the progesterone come from if I was being supressed?? There should't have been a follicle to ovulate. And what about my cycle if I started stims during that time?

@LibbyLou: that is terrible. I'd file a complaint with PayPal and see if that helps. I may have some extra Gonal-f, Menopur, & cetrotide. I'll know more next week.I'm on day 5 stims for my second retrieval after getting nothing to transfer after last cycle's testing. Hoping this time goes better. No where near as nauseous and have only thrown up once from the meds. I did come down with a nasty cold yesterday. I'm waiting for a call back from my nurse, but would any of you ladies take any cold medicine while stimming? I can tough it out during the day but I was miserable last night but didn't want to take a decongestant without asking the doctor.

@PointeShoesTutus: no advice on the meds since I haven't been there yet but good luck the rest of the week. Let me know if you have any leftover! We filed a complaint with PayPal and are waiting a verdict.

@Pointeshoestutus I don't see any reason not to take cold medicine while stimming especially since I think most things are safe while pregnant
@Purplepumps were you able to get any answers to your results issues from your RE? Super confusing. Sorry I can't help!

@PointeShoesTutus: Affrin decongestant spray is AMAZEBALLS. I just got over a cold that I weirdly also got while stimming 2 weeks ago! I used it every 12 hours or so and you seriously couldn't even tell I had a cold. I don't know how everyone doesn't use it!
And I was same boat as you, my last round we only had 2 to test and both were abnormal. Hopefully this 2nd round is all we both need!@Mrs. Pajamas: haven't heard yet! I'm pretty sure she said I'd get a call today. I somehow held back and didn't check at all since my fert report a week ago. Some form of ignorant bliss I suppose. If I hear anything today I'll update.
ETA: I decided to just ask my coordinator if I'd get an update today (didn't ask for one) and she said tomorrow.
Oh well whats another day.

You guys...we have 4 biopsied and frozen embryos! For the first time this whole round I feel a little bit of hope!
I also got my period today so maybe just maybe this will all line up to work out! If I get the results back lightning fast like last time, and we have a normal embryo, I might be able to transfer this cycle! I won't hold my breath but it feels like a good start.
Otherwise I would have to wait till January to transfer. Not the end of the world, though. -

@NorthStar: yes! Last time 8 retrieved, 6 fertilized but only 2 made it to testing and both were abnormal.
This time 6 retrieved, 5 fertilized and 4 made it to testing.
My odds of a normal are still very low but maybe this is our lucky batch! -

I had my 2nd ultrasound today and it was above the waist!! What a pleasant surprise (only ivfers really understand my joy here after aaalll the people up in my lady bits over the years) and the best part was my ob saying "oh woah this little one is moving and grooving"! Only 3 more nights of shots in the ass too! My dignity is being restored slowly but surely!

The wait really is the worst! We go through so many more waits than the natural TTC'ers! Waiting to start stims. Waiting to see how the stims work. Waiting to see how many eggs retrieved. Waiting to see how many make it. Waiting for testing. Waiting for transfer. Then the wait for a BFP. It's so stressful!
I was the annoying patient who emailed the embryo testing lab today and asked if they can do it in 2 days like last timeAnd congrats on no more vag wanding. That's a win in itself!

@Mrs. Pajamas: What?! No wand u/s??? That's just awesome!! Lol! It's the little things! I stopped my crinone last week and it was just awesome!! I'm feeling like a normal pregnant lady!! I meet with the high risk doc next week. We will see what kind of U/S I'll get!! Lol! I'll be 2 days shy of 13 weeks!

@Winnie13: I'm on the mend sort of. This cold has really lingered but Vicks vapor rub on the chest is a life saver. I'm hoping to trigger tonight for a Thanksgiving morning retrieval. The ultrasound tech said "wow do you have a lot going on here" this morning at my monitoring appointment. I'm hoping that means a good number of viable eggs

I was hoping for a Thanksgiving retrieval but it won't be happening
I need to do two more nights of stims. That will make 13 nights. Two more than last round. My estradiol level is what it was when I triggered last round so I'm slightly confused. I had some OHSS last round and I'm hoping it doesn't happen again but my RE had me increase meds and apparently there are more follicles than last go around. Hoping for a better outcome even if it means dealing with OHSS again

@PointeShoesTutus: Ugh I'm sorry. It sucks when you're just ready for the retrieval and ready to be done with the shots to find out you have more. My last round (not the most recent one) that happened to me too. I think the same thing, ended up 13 days of stims. Was told I'd trigger and then at that mornings appt they had me do 2 more days. I'm sorry and keep us updated! Everything crossed for you!
Well, as for me - no normal embryos again. They tested all 4 and 3 came back with my translocation (unbalanced, so trisomy 18) and one came back with a different abnormality.
I got all of this in a voicemail, so didn't get to speak with him. But he said he felt we should meet to discuss alternatives. I'm not sure what that means, like donor eggs maybe? But I'm not really interested in that. And I kept saying this was my last round anyway and I think even with these results I still feel that way. I guess I'll see what he has to say and decide.Happy Thanksgiving to you all! It's a hard season we're heading into, the holidays, but I hope we can all find many things to be thankful for.

My retrieval was total bust too. Wed we got 18 eggs, and 9 were mature. 50%!! My most yet. Then I found out Thanksgiving morning as I'm watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade that every. single. one. fertilized abnormally and had 3 or 4 pronuclei. Apparently, it's *super* rare, only happening to 5% of fertilized eggs. Me? Im just f--king special... all 100%. @#($@#*(@

popping back in after a long break from the boards and lots to catch up on! We decided to try one last IVF cycle. In the middle of stims right now, but things are moving slowly. they're thinking i'm going to have to go a little longer on stims than planned.

@SweetiePie: I ended up triggering on Thanksgiving so my retrieval was yesterday. Got 13 eggs this time. Apparently the doctor was surprised that I had so many empty follicles since she didn't get more than that & I had a ton of them on ultrasounds. She's not the RE overseeing my case, thank goodness because both H & I were not thrilled with the way she treated me. I should get my fert report from the lab today. H & I are praying hard these 13 are better quality this round
