Anyone actively cycling now/soon? I just started injections last night for our first IVF cycle. Planning for a FET from this but unsure if it'll make it in this year or sometime in 2021.

@LindsayInNY: Good luck! We were originally planning to start a transfer cycle in early 2021, though we recently started talking about waiting until our daughter turns 2, which will be May 2021, so not sure when we will get started.

I hope there are others to join you!

@LindsayInNY: welcome to the IVF board! I’m taking it you joined the unfortunate secondary infertility club? We are done with IVF after two, but currently NTNP (you recall we had that spontaneous pregnancy way back when)... although today I just gave away all of my maternity clothes. Excited to follow along with you though!

@yellowbeach: Always on one of these boards We went from the unexplained IF club to now the recurrent loss club (2 back to back during Covid, 4 total lifetime). With or without progesterone, doesn't seem to matter. Yesterday was day 2 of injections for a retrieval late next week maybe? Unsure exactly, trying to go with the flow I also gave away a ton of my maternity clothes. Always assumed we would be done at 2!

My ultrasound went well today! Baby is measuring right on track and saw the heartbeat! They did discover a small subchorionic hemmorage, but it's so small they aren't worried about it. This does explain why I had some light bleeding for a bit last week though. I get to graduate and move on to move local midwife now, woo!!

Hi everyone, I hope you're doing well.
I have an update! About time, right?! I thought about posting a few times before, but just didn't dare with my luck.

So after my second unsuccessful frozen transfer in July, I was supposed to start the next full cycle in October. I went to the appointment and...they had forgotten to send me and SO to do some tests that needed to be done before starting a new round. I got mine done quickly, but I got an appointment for my SO for mid November - that would have pushed IVF to December and transfer possibly to January or February. That was the lowpoint for me in my seven and a half years of infertility so far. I was so broken. Two to three months delay for a communication error!

I got my tests done and every time I had to go in, I went to the front desk and asked if they had any cancellations for the test my SO had to take and finally got a time for him for two weeks earlier. With that we were back on track to start in November. When my period started, I was supposed to call them to make an appointment. I called 22 times (I counted), the line was busy all the time and when I finally got to speak to the nurse, she rustled papers around for a few minutes and told me in a sad little voice, that they had no room for me that month, because my doctor had a vacation coming up. We could start the cycle over the phone and I would just start the shots, but they couldn't schedule me for an ultrasound. She thought for a bit and told me my only option was to write an e-mail to another doctor and ask if she had time for me. I didn't have much hope, but she wrote back and told me to start the shots the next day and come for the US in a week.

The day before my appointment I got a call - the other doctor had to cancel and I had a new appointment with a third doctor and it was obvious it was squeezed in just for me, it was so late in the day and I was the last patient in the building. It was a bit funny. Things started to move fast after that, retrieval was scheduled three days later and that was done last Thursday.

I woke up from the nap and they told me they would do a fresh transfer. I didn't see that coming, I was so sure it would go like last time.

My first ever fresh transfer was this morning. Unfortunately we got only one good embryo from this cycle. I had 24 follicles with 14 eggs, 5 were mature, 3 fertilized and that went down to one - the little buddy I took home with me today.
If this cycle fails, I'll probably start my third round next spring, but the times are so turbulent, we'll have to see what happens.

As of now, I intend to be pregnant until they tell me I'm not.

I'm amazed at your resilience and persistence (22 calls, I counted lolllll). I'm sure you're passing on these amazing traits to that little bean inside of you. Wishing you all the luck in the world. Please keep us posted!!! You deserve this!

@paranundrum: Oh my goodness, how stressful! Im sorry you had to deal with all of that. An IVF cycle is stressful enough without communication issues. Wishing you so much luck that this transfer was the one!

It's usually not that hectic over there, but it's just my luck. My first round was just before the first covid wave and this one is right in the middle of the second one. They're probably really stressed over there too.

And also as all of the procedures and most of the meds are free, I feel like I don't have too much to complain about anyway. The waiting sucks, but I'm still relatively young and can afford it for now.

@paranundrum: Sorry I’m late to seeing your update. You do have the worst luck love. I’m frustrated for you. I wish your retrieval had yielded better results, but I’m glad your clinic was aggressive in going for the fresh transfer since they saw that opportunity.

Will you test before beta? I can’t remember from the POAS board when you like to test.

    @yellowbeach: Thank you!

I'm not sure, I don't like to test that much, they're always negative.
Blood draw is on the 8th, presuming AF doesn't come before that. I might test on that day or a day before to soften the blow, but I also might chicken out.

Not a happy update from me unfortunately, AF is starting.

I had a little spotting on Thursday, thought I was out, but there was nothing yesterday and I deluded myself into thinking it still might be my turn... No luck. Today started with bleeding and cramping.

I'll call my doc on Monday and find out, when I can start a new round. That probably won't happen before March or April.
