I've become paranoid and only really share in gold!

my husband was shocked at first (neither of us expected month 1) but then he said "congratulations." ...LOL. then he was excited!

we live in RI! 40 minutes from all the beaches, plenty of parks and zoos. I'm not brave enough to go to the beach with DD, I don't mess with her naps.

we are definitely finding out the sex of the baby!! probably an early scan at 16 weeks for fun, then anatomy scan at 18.

@Happygal: fell in love with a Canadian We went to school together and upon graduating debated staying in the states or moving north. Can't say the year long mat leave wasn't a factor.

And as a former Rhode Islander/current Canadian, the RI winters aren't all that bad.

@Happygal: I've been trying to convince DH to move there once we're done making babies. Such a great town.

@Happygal: I think because abortion is only legal until 12w. But even then you can still have an abortion if your health is a risk. So it might only be part of the reason and I don't know the other part. And I love me some Spätzle yum, yum!

Also just saw I totally forgot to answer the second part of your first question. Tourists are fine for me. We usually don't end up going to the places where they go. And since I love traveling myself I'm a tourist too

@Happygal: @oliviaoblivia: depends on the year! some are worse than others. we had a shit ton of snow the past two years!

2. What was your SO's response to finding out you're pregnant? He was so happy but it didn't fully sink in until our ultrasound. He was so amazed to see and hear the little heartbeat.
3. Where do you live? What's fun to do in your town? Eugene, OR. Very outdoorsy town. Also known for our incredible wines and microbrews (Ninkasi, Oakshire, to name a couple). Obviously, I'm not partaking in the beer/wine drinking right now...haha.

In MI, along Lake Michigan. It's sort of a tourist town so there are lots of "touristy" things to do (beach, walk the pier, lots of little shops down town).

We'll find out!

2. SO's reaction - I made brownies and wrote "big sister" on them in frosting, and then told him my DD had made him something. He had just gotten home from a bachelor party weekend so was SUPER hungover, so it took a few minutes for it to sink in! But he is super excited.

3. Hometown: MA, about 45 minutes west of Boston...for fun right now we are just checking out all the local playgrounds since DD is 21 months now and can actually play on them. But there is tons around!

4. We are definitely finding out baby's sex, I am way too much of a planner to not know. I've heard that sometimes now they do it via blood test instead of waiting for the anatomy scan? That would be awesome to find out early!

@charmed: Ha yes for my first daughter even though they said they were sure she was a girl at the gender scan, the rest of my pregnancy I was terrified they got it wrong! We had another ultrasound around 32 weeks and I made the tech double check, she thought I was nuts.

2. What was your SO's response to finding out you're pregnant? Well, I had just had a feeling I was pregnant during the entire TWW. I kept saying things like "Maybe there's a baby in there!" and my husband kind of thought I was losing it. Ha! So, I made my best friend talk me out of testing late on a Thursday night, but when I woke up on Friday morning, the first thing I thought was PREGNANCY TEST. RIGHT NOW. So I caved, and it was a blaring positive. (I thought I was 11DPO, according to dating scan it was 13.) Anyway, we were headed out of town for a family wedding that weekend, and had already arranged for cab services to take us, BIL and SIL home from the wedding. So, I called my husband (he had already left for work; it was one of his really early days) and said "Well....we didn't need to get that cab for the wedding." He thought about it for a second and was like "WHAT! ARE YOU SERIOUS! YOU TOOK A TEST? IT'S POSITIVE?" It was super cute.

3. Where do you live? What's fun to do in your town? I live in the Richmond, VA area. There are always lots of fun festivals and stuff to go to here, but also the James River runs right through the city so we spend a lot of time in our canoe on the water.

4. Will you find out the baby's sex, or have it be a surprise? I think we'll find out. We talked about team green before I got pregnant the first time, and then two days after my BFP, DH was all like "Sooooo when can we find out if it's a boy or a girl?" Um, in 16 weeks, honey. Ha! Anyway, this time, I think we're just accepting that we want to know and will find out.

@mfa_lady: Ugh if I could, I would live in there. I would live in a bubble underwater for the next few months.
