I'm not against sleep training, but that seems early, particularly for naps. I think naps don't really consolidate until 6 months....we mostly wore her for naps at that age, and it worked well (she would take pretty long ones in the front pack). Maybe start trying a gentle schedule? I started doing a nap every two hours at that age, and it helped a lot.

Nay! 3 months is way too young, imo, and I wouldn't tackle naps until nighttime sleep is solid.

Same as @Silva, I'm all for sleep training but not for naps at that age. I did 2 Isis sleep consults and they said naps get easier around 5.5-6 months. Night sleep is always the best place to start for sleep training, and 3 months is the absolute youngest I would go for that.

I think it's too early particularly for naps. I think it depends on the baby but we didn't let LO cry (and even then not CIO but we got strict about how soon we went in and not picking her up and she took to it quickly on her own) until >1 year. Sorry, that was a lot of words!!

I also think it's on the early side. I think we started "nap training" (i.e., just swaddling and putting in her crib to see what would happen) around 4 months. it was actually way easier than I thought it would be.

At 3 months I didn't really do training, I just started with trying to rock him less before putting him down. So instead of waiting for him to be completely asleep in my arms, I was aiming for him to be drowsy but still somewhat awake when I laid him in the crib.

We aren't nap training our almost 4 month old, but we ARE encouraging him to nap in the crib during the day. He's outgrown the rock n' play (he's a really big boy) so I don't really like the idea of him napping on the couch or the floor. He also usually takes at least one nap in his stroller. Right now his daytime sleeping is so all over the place that we're waiting until it starts to consolidate a little before doing any real training.

Also forgot that I tried to have him sleep less in his swing. So I was trying to get him to nap at least twice in his crib each day and then a swing or car nap was okay.

I started putting her in her crib for naps, but still nursing to sleep at about 2 months or so. At 3.5 months I started putting her down awake for her morning nap which worked great..... Until this week when she hit 4 months. Now I do whatever I can to get her to sleep...wearing her, holding her, driving around in the car....ugh.
