@Rainbow Sprinkles: I just bumped an old thread about telling parents, looking for ideas. I'm only just over 5 weeks, but we'll most likely be telling our parents today (and siblings in the next week or so). We see them so often that it's hard to keep it a secret. For one set of parents, it will be their first grandchild, so we bought them "I love grandma/grandpa" onesies. Not sure what to do for the other set though, as it's their 6th grandchild.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: I look a month ahead from where I was at this point with LO#1. Yikes. But I keep thinking the positive is that I'll be through this "Is she pregnant or did she eat too many donuts?" stage faster and on to the obvious baby bump! This is #3 for you, right?

We told our parents because we see them a lot and we knew we would tell them even if something happened with the pregnancy. I had a CP a few years ago and we told them then, so it seemed pointless to keep the good news a secret.

We'll wait until 12 weeks or until my belly is super obvious, whatever comes first, to tell the rest of our family and friends. We'll probably just do a "I'm a big sister!" shirt for LO#1.

@My Only Sunshine: yes, #3! I will be 9 weeks on Wednesday. I've never been sick before, though, so maybe this means boy? I have 2 girls.

@Willow: Thanks, checking the bumped thread!
I have my 10 week ultrasound next week, and we were considering maybe just wrapping up a picture of the US for them?

@2littlepumpkins: No, it doesn't make me worry more. I mean, the risk is still there of losing one of the babies so it's always in the back of my mind. I'll be sad if we lose one but I'll be happy if there is still one in there.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: Since I had diarrhea Thursday-Sunday a day without poo has been a blessing. I also have trouble in that department, I'll let you know!

I don't know how I could be constipated right now, there's nothing in me to stop up...

Has anyone heard of unisom and B6 for m/s? The Zofran works pretty darn well but is so expensive and not covered by my insurance.

@babybronco: At my appt today, I asked for something to help with the nausea, and she gave me diclegis. She said it's a little more natural (?) and mild medication. She said to try it and if it doesn't work, I could try zofran next. There's also a third medication, I could try if the zofran doesn't work. I forget what it was called. I did tell her that taking pills has been making me nauseous and she said it's okay if I stop taking them. I have no idea if these pills are coated but I hope they are. I don't feel like dealing with uncoated pills right now.

@Leialou: I've had one cup of decaf since getting pregnant. I don't drink coffee everyday... though I am a Starbucks gold member and I do love their Salted Caramel Lattes. I think I got a small decaf version a few days before the m/s started. Now, I don't feel like it at all. Right now I'm just trying to find something I can drink that actually tastes good to me so I can stay hydrated. I think sparkling cider (the right flavor) is good right now. Though, cream soda worked last week.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: we haven't told our families yet- wanted to wait until after first US, and now that that is done, trying to think of a cute way to do it. Only telling immediate fam soon, and extended fam and friends probably around 12-14 weeks.

As for me, we heard the heartbeats today! It is so freakin' amazing, that something the size of a blueberry has a heart beat. Both are doing well. Baby A was at 113 bpm and Baby B was 119 bpm. We'll have another appt next week. I think I'm going to see if DH will record the heartbeats at next week's appt.

Nausea is still bad. I haven't thrown up everyday but I threw up this morning. Yuck! I asked for help and they gave me some diclegis samples. I'm going to try it tonight.

I'm really considering telling my boss if the nausea continues. I want to wait but I don't think I can.

@bluestriped bee: first, i found a coupon for that: https://www.diclegis.com/en/savings-and-resources/co-pay-savings-offer

From what I've read doxylamine succinate is unisom and pyridoxine hydrochloride is B6! I was reading online that the stuff is pretty amazing. Please let us know if it helps.

I threw up on Zofran today (at the end of the 6 hrs), no fun, but I did feel better after that. Oh and I'm also tempted to tell work, even though I work from home. I may have told them I have the stomach flu...

@babybronco: Oh, cool. I have that coupon on the sample box. Thanks for looking into what diclegis is. Good to know!

So anyone going to try these Gingerbread Brownies? It's suppose to help with nausea.

I think I'll make some tonight and see if I like them.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: that always sounds like a cute idea to me I probably won't have an have ultrasound until 20 weeks, otherwise I'd think of doing that.

@bluestriped bee: so exciting! That' must have been amazing to see both heartbeats

@Rainbow Sprinkles: we told both sets of parents and my sister after we got our betas back and they were good. Waiting to tell others until after our first u/s.

Speaking of, I may call the office tomorrow and see if I can get my appt moved up to 3/2 rather than 3/4!

@hilsy85: @Rainbow Sprinkles: We told DHs family yesterday. It was tear filled and wonderful. First grandkid on both sides! (I'm an only child and we will likely only have one LO so probably the only for my folks).

    @jodyblair: meeee tooooo. Thanks!

Thank you to everyone who sent well wishes and congrats!!

Sorry for being MIA ladies....I have been feeling incredibly nauseous....all day every day feeling like I'm constantly on the verge of throwing up. I'll admit I'm beyond miserable. At this point I would rather be throwing up all the time like I did with DS, at least then I got a bit of relief. I'm so miserable I've even tried making myself throw up and for whatever reason that's not working either. I have been taking Zofran religiously, just like last time but unfortunately it doesn't do much to relieve the nausea. I'm going to ask about ideas to relieve the nausea at my appt on Thursday.

@broncobaby: Where in CO are you??

I can't remember who asked now if it took us a long time to get pregnant the first time (sorry I was 4 pages behind and now I forgot)...it took us about 18 months or so to get pregnant with DS...he was actually a Clomid baby. We tried Clomid 2 winters ago now but it was clearly not successful this time around. I had come to the conclusion and mostly accepted that DS might be an only, even though that was never our plan. My husband was in a horrible roll over car accident in September and ended up having 3 vertebrae in his neck fused on NYE. We went to Vegas with friends a couple weeks later and apparently "what happens in Vegas" doesn't always stay in Vegas lol.

Oh and no we still haven't told family yet. Like I said before just you ladies and my BFF. We will probably wait until at least Thursday if not longer...we waited a good 10+ weeks before we told family with DS. We didn't tell FB until the 20 week u/s and everyone thought that I was just annoucing the pregnancy not that we were half way through LOL.

@Treytonsmom2011: We're just south of Denver!

I could repeat your first paragraph almost in its entirety. I've thrown up 4 times today, even with zofran. I currently have on seabands and my food today has been: bananas, rice, crackers. I'm at the point where I'm not sure if i'm nauseous or if I'm hungry. Let us know what your doc says!

@Rainbow Sprinkles: My 12 week mark lands right before Easter weekend/my 30th bday so I thought that would be perfect to tell family all at once at either occasion... NO idea how I am going to last that long.... I have a handful of girlfriends that knows and work but no family members ahhhh! Also his parents have NO idea we had been trying the past 2 years or in treatment so I'm extra excited to surprise my MIL!

@bluestriped bee: yay!! How exciting! Isn't is crazy that they can detect heartbeats that early?!

We've told pretty much all of our family and close friends at this point. We have our first apt and if we hear the heartbeat and ultrasound goes well we will probably make it public. I'll only be 9 weeks but my bump is getting harder and harder to hide, especially at work. It's just getting awkward and I'll be glad when it's out in the open.

I'm really looking forward to our apt tomorrow. Dd broke her arm yesterday at daycare and since I'm pregnant I couldn't go in the X-ray room with her. She's only 18 months so too young to understand what was happening. She FREAKED out - crying so hard she almost threw up - it honestly broke my heart like nothing else has. It took like 45 minutes to get 4 pictures. Anyway, now she's got this full arm cast... needless so say the past couple days have been stressful! I can't wait to meet this little baby tomorrow!

@babybronco: So first dose of diclegis was last night around 1am (normal bedtime for me, after falling asleep on the couch lately.) This morning, I'm dragging! It felt like I was carrying 5 lb weights on each shoulder when I got out of bed. I wanted to lay back in bed so bad this morning. Good news is that the nausea went away, though I do get the dry heaves but it's happened twice so far which is far better than yesterday! But exhaustion is pretty bad. I think my mistake was taking the pill so late. I'll take it earlier tonight. Oh, I'm so happy to have my appetite back! I ate a bagel with cream cheese. So good!!

ETA: Oh, I woke up around 6 am to get ready for work. Now around 9:30a, I'm definitely feeling more awake now. I think I need to take it at least 10-11pm to make sure my body rests for 8 hours.

@bluestriped bee: gah! Eating sound wonderful. I took half a unisom and some b6 last night and woke up feeling pretty ok. I took another b6 this morning and I'm rocking my seabands. I have to lead a webinar in 40 minutes, I'm just hoping the sickness holds off until after that.

I did enjoy a banana in bed. Made myself a piece of toast and some peppermint tea. I still feel yucky but not as bad as yesterday.

@mamabolt: that's great to hear. Did you take the unisom twice a day or just at night?

@Rainbow Sprinkles: I told my in laws two weeks ago. DH just informed them that I was preggo again. I announced to my family last weekend. I made DS a shirt that said "future big brother".

@bluestriped bee: yay for hearing the heartbeat!! I can't wait to hopefully be able to hear mine next week. Eep!

@Charm54: OH NO!!!!! Poor girl!!! Wishing her a quick recovery! How did she break her arm at daycare?

We co-sleep with DS, and I didn't realize it last night but he somehow moved over and laid his head on my belly to sleep. I was dreaming about this discomfort in my belly for awhile before I woke up in extreme discomfort to realize what was causing it. I immediately moved DS, but all I could think about was OMG!! You're squishing the baby!!!!! My worry was immediate and I started thinking the worst, but as the morning progressed, I started feeling better that the baby is well protected blah blah blah. *fingers crossed* all is well. I'm worried enough as is, don't need additional help. Monday's appt can't come fast enough. sheesh.

@hilsy85: not sure, hopefully just a couple of weeks! We have an apt with the specialist Monday so I'm hoping she gives us good news

@Alivoo01: she fell off a play structure and broke her elbow. Daycare was super sweet and feels awful, but not much they could have done - accidents happen.

My apt is in an hour! I'm super excited. Dh is meeting me there and I'm hoping all goes well!

@Alivoo01: aww I'm sure it's fine! I know what you mean though - I worry so much up until that first apt. With DD I went downhill skiing (didn't know I was pregnant) and had a few falls. I freaked out , but the dr calmed my fears by saying they are so protected especially this early on. Hope your apt Monday goes well!

um, i am going to jump in here if you'll have me! not sure of my EDD because I O'd later than I usually do... and that's how I got pregnant! DH and I are still kinda shocked, but excited as we were planning on formally trying in the next couple months. i'm thinking my EDD is end of October/beginning of November so I'm toeing the line, but I did go early with DD #1, so hopefully you'll be okay with me sticking around here either way! I'll have to go back and catch up with you all!

Just got back from my apt! All went well. Dr did a quick ultrasound and saw a healthy baby with a heartbeat of 166bpm. I have a more detailed dating ultrasound set for next Tues. It made it all the more real, that's for sure. She also gave me a prescription for my nausea so hopefully that helps.
