Pregnancy after Infertility Check in!

@FliegepilzHut: I am having the sequential screening. I am already half expecting my blood work to come back abnormal. Apparently when you loose one twin that twins DNA can still be in your blood and if they had a genetic issue (which is very likely considering it was a first trimester loss) then that can show up in your blood work. So I won't freak out if that happens but having good measurements on my NT scan will def be reassuring!

@marionberry: Yes! So looking forward to that. My twin brothers has bunk beds growing up. I was so jealous I never got one haha.

@lazypanda: I really know want to know what it is unless they are very sure what it is. I don't want to think it is one thing and get attached to the idea of a boy or girl then find out later it is the opposite. My husband thinks it isn't a big deal if they think its one and ends up being the other later on but his brain doesn't work and plan like mine

@Mrs.Pinecone316: You're a woman after my own heart! Always planning... FX for a great NT scan tomorrow and smooth sailing for the next 6 mos or so!!!

@lazypanda: We can find out the gender with the blood tests that will be run in addition to the ultrasound. Not sure yet if we want to know now or wait until the anatomy scan. My husband and I haven't decided yet!

@Mrs.Pinecone316: Can't wait to hear how your NT scan goes!!!!!!

We announced our big news over the weekend. We were going to wait until 12 weeks (next weekend), but I just couldn't keep it quiet anymore and I know people were suspecting since they knew we listed our townhome for sale. So here's how we announced!!

I am very cautiously going to post in here, because I have decided I need to stop being negative!

    Currently: 4w5d

    EDD: June 11, 2015

How did you finally get your BFP? 3+ years, 3 failed IUIs, one failed IVF, and success on our 2nd round of IVF!

Any previous children? No, this will be our first.

Do you know your baby's gender yet? Not yet, but can't wait!

Are you more excited at this point or still fearful? I am incredibly fearful! Fortunately my betas have been doubling each time which is encouraging. I'm working on trying to relax a little more, and allow myself to enjoy the fact that I am finally pregnant!

    @Jenn23: I LOVE your announcement!

@Mrs.Pinecone316: I keep asking my husband what he would prefer & he just says healthy baby since we don't have a say in baby's gender. I think knowing the gender will help make the experience more exciting for me given that I've been so anxious about every little cramp I've had.

@Jenn23: I love the announcement! I can't wait to be able to let more friends know! It's so hard to hide my bloated belly. when will your anatomy scan be?

@Sunshine1810: yay! I'm so happy to see you on this thread! I can definitely relate to the fear as I was and continue to be cautious. I think seeing the heartbeat and then the arm & leg buds made it more real for me.

I don't think I ever answered these when I joined this wonderful group!

    Currently: 13 weeks!
    EDD: April 14/2015
How did you finally get your BFP? A single embryo 5 day transfer from our first IVF cycle got us this very special
Any previous children? Nope, first for both of us
Do you know your babies gender yet? No we are going team
Are you more excited at this point or still fearful? I am starting to be more excited. I had my first OB appointment this morning, heard the heartbeat and it finally feels like this is really happening!

@Sunshine1810: The fatigue is killer, even now I am always thinking about how long until I can sleep Pace yourself and if you are tired then just relax.

@mrswin: I am so excited that you heard the heartbeat this morning!! That's wonderful! I am definitely trying to pace myself. I went to bed at 8:30 last night!

@Jenn23: Adorable announcement! I just don't have it in me to announce yet, I will be 13 weeks tomorrow but I think I will hold off a few more. Most family and close friends know already anyways. Our NT scan went great! Measurements are good, the doctor doing this decided NOT to do blood work yesterday due to the lost twin and feeling like it would skew the results so we are just doing the 2nd phase of testing which is blood work at 15 weeks. I feel much better knowing the scan looked normal though.

@Sunshine1810: Yay glad your here! It is the perfect place to be, we all know how the early days of finding out are. So happy for you! When is your first u/s?

@lazypanda: Yes I am super anxious about finding out the gender too! We will both be happy with whatever we get because we both want one of each so no real pressure with the first baby but I am also scared we will end up with all boys and he is scared we will end up with all girls haha so I think whoever gets their first choice this time will have a sigh of relief

@mrswin: I agree with the fatigue comment! Try adding in 12 hour night shifts at work... not fun!!

@Mrs.Pinecone316: Thank you! My first ultrasound will be scheduled once my beta reaches 1,000 (if I keep progressing how I have been, I should reach it this weekend). So glad had a great NT scan!

@Jenn23: That is a super cute announcement! We have told most friends and family already and won't do anything on Facebook but stuff like this always makes me want to!

@Mrs.Pinecone316: I'm glad you had a good NT scan. I can't imagine working overnights, I regularly do some 10-12 hour work days but overnights have got to be so HARD!

@Sunshine1810: Hahaha 8:30pm is a perfectly reasonable bedtime

@Sunshine1810: I am SO excited to see you join this thread!!!! The 1st trimester fatigue can be brutal. Just sleep/nap whenever (and wherever!) you can!

@lazypanda: Thanks. My anatomy scan is at 20 weeks, but I have my NT scan this Friday at 12 weeks. Can't wait!!!! I can't wait to find out the gender, too!

@Mrs.Pinecone316: I'm so thrilled that your scan went well! That's great! Any pics? So no blood work for now....when I mentioned this to my OB last Friday, she didn't seem aware of the vanishing twin affecting the results unless it had just happened recently. But I'll still keep it in my head that if we do get abnormal results, it is hopefully just from the twin that passed!

3 more days of the 1st trimester. WooHoo!!

@mrswin: We aren't doing too much tonight (just because I've been pretty tired, and it's a work night) but this weekend we are going to one of our favorite restaurants for dinner. We haven't been in a while so I am looking forward to that!

@Sunshine1810: That sounds perfect, we usually wait until the weekend to go out too. I hope you have a great time, you just won't get to have any wine to celebrate with this year

@Sunshine1810: My SO and I had the same discussion and I pointed out that since the dinner bill will be lower since we won't be getting a bottle that there would be extra left to spend on a gift for me since I am carrying his child and all! LOL

Well, our NT scan went great! Baby measured well, HB was 162 and the neck fluid was totally normal (1.1). He/she started dancing all around at one point and we were cracking up. So cute!! Baby kept putting his or her hand on her head so it looks like horn coming out of the forehead.
