@Jenn23: Awww... That's seriously adorable! Congrats on the 12week milestone!

@Jenn23: Thank you!!! I know I am excited/scared for Wednesday, but right now I am so happy to go longer than 48 hours without a test result to be anxious for! It will be nice to relax this weekend! SO SO happy your NT scan went well! Yay!!!!

@FliegepilzHut: I don't blame you, but I bet it's going to be great! I am always nervous about everything so I can completely sympathize!

@Sunshine1810: I think my problem is that I'm waiting for the "multiples" shoe to drop...but don't feel nearly confident enough (given past experience) to just transfer one... I'm so ready to "graduate" to the next stage!

@Sunshine1810: YAY! I am thrilled for you Wednesday will be so much fun.

@FliegepilzHut: You have to do what feels right for you, if you transfer two it will work out the way it is supposed to but one is an equally difficult decision. You will make the right choice for your family

@Jenn23: Lol that is a great ultrasound picture! I'm glad your scan went well and baby is looking good!

@FliegepilzHut: That is always such a hard decision. We have done two twice now. First cycle didn't work, and I highly suspect I'm pregnant with a singleton now given my hcg numbers. I know that's not always a good indicator, but my levels have definitely been on the lower side the whole time. However, you do hear those stories that make you seriously question whether it's the right decision. My RE really tried to get me transfer one with the first IVF but I noticed that she didn't even really ask this time, just made the assumption we were doing two. I don't know if that's because we did two before, or if it's because our first cycle didn't work. Good luck making that decision! I know how hard it is!

    @mrswin: Thank you!!!!

@Jenn23: glad your NT scan went so well! Isn't seeing them on u/s so great?!

@FliegepilzHut: I agree with others that what is meant to happen will. After an iui for ds I certainly didn't expect naturally conceived twins. I won't lie, it scares me at times, but I trust it will all be amazing in the end. Whether you choose one or two it will be the right decision for you and your family.

@mrswin: @Sunshine1810: @marionberry: Thank you, ladies! Relaxing and "having faith" is so hard for me... Hopefully it will be easier after this transfer!

@Jenn23: so glad your NT scan went well!! Adorable u/s pic
@Sunshine1810: Cant wait for your first u/s
@FliegepilzHut: such a tough choice.. I think I replied to your other tread about # transferring but whatever you decide you just have to believe its what is best at that given time.

@Sunshine1810: exciting news! Getting the ultrasound & possibly seeing the heartbeat (s) will be amazing! If it's early, seeing a gestational sac is equally amazing to see it progress so quickly at the next u/s appt.

@Jenn23: Yay for a great NT! I love the unicorn u/s explanation.

@mrswin: since my due date is in May, I joked to DH that he should start saving up because we'll be celebrating baby's birth, mothers' day, our anniversary, & then my bday!

How is everyone doing otherwise? Any exciting milestones coming up?

@FliegepilzHut: good luck on the transfer! When do you have to decide on the # to transfer?

  14. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@lazypanda: I talked with my RE last week...and said *tentatively* 2. But honestly, since "stickiness" has been an issue for us (in addition to IF)...I just don't think we'll have the guts to transfer 1...until/unless we're trying for #2, I guess.

@Mrs.Pinecone316: Yeah...it's mostly an irrational fear (unless it happens to you). We'll just make the best decision we know how...and then hope for the best!

Thanks, everyone!! So excited to be in the 2nd trimester now and have had such a great NT scan. Can't wait to find out the sex very soon!!

@FliegepilzHut: I would transfer two! We transferred two excellent embryos and have our son. This time we transferred three because the quality wasn't so good and have one baby growing now after losing the twin. But then again, many transfer two and have twins. It is just a hard decision, because you really just don't know how many will take! I'm so excited for you and your upcoming transfer!!!!

  16. Sunshine1810

    pear / 1556 posts

Did any of you have an issue with water making your m/s worse? If so, what did you drink to stay hydrated? Right now water is making me really sick to my stomach, but I want to make sure I don't dehydrate.

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@Jenn23: Finding out gender sounds so exciting! Will you plan a special reveal?

Yeah...I think given our track record so far (and the fact that we have an option), we will definitely transfer 2 and take whomever we get! Only about 6 weeks to go!

@Sunshine1810: Not from personal experience...but I think I've heard that adding lemon or infusing fruit may help. Can you drink other things? I would probably also experiment with changing the temperature of the water (warm/hot vs. room temp vs. ice cold)...and consider making a dilute tea (peppermint or ginger-- not a blend)?

  18. Sunshine1810

    pear / 1556 posts

@FliegepilzHut: I think I will try infusing! I just started with the nausea this past weekend. I think that lemon might be a good one, citrus seems to be appealing to me right now. The tea and temps are great ideas too! Thank you

  19. Jenn23

    persimmon / 1085 posts

@Sunshine1810: Honestly, just drink whatever appeals to you! There are days when I can only drink Lemonade, other days Gatorade. A friend who is also pregnant has been drinking ginger ale. Water is not my friend either in the mornings especially when the morning sickness is still bad. I actually hold off drinking until my dry heaves are behind me. Try ginger or lemon, but if those don't work, just anything you can get down and tolerate!

@Sunshine1810: You're welcome! Please let me know what works!

  21. Jenn23

    persimmon / 1085 posts

@FliegepilzHut: No, no special reveal. Should find out in just a few days once my blood tests are in. Can't wait to find out!!! 6 weeks...yay! I hope it flies by for you!!!!

  22. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@Jenn23: That's awesome! Which test did you have? I think the time will pass quickly...only one more hurdle left, which is my SHG next week!

  23. lazypanda

    kiwi / 636 posts

@Sunshine1810: I've actually been good about drinking water with a slice of lemon. Actually any type of fresh fruit in my water works well (blueberries & strawberries). For nausea, I also bought some pregnancy tea blend that has been very soothing from my acupuncturist. I checked with my friend who's an NP to make sure the blend was safe for pregnancy too.

I actually miss my RE's office now. While I'm happy to have graduated, I miss the personalized care that I received from them knowing my history. I received an email from an NP saying that I'm anemic & needed to immediately start taking iron supplements. I emailed the NP who saw me last to ask if she could double check my values because iron is not a problem for me (I have an existing condition that makes it look like I'm iron deficient but am not). Thankfully someone responded that I was correct & to disregard the message but seriously, they should check my history first. oh, & on top of that, I did not pass my 1 hr test so now I have to go in for the 3 hr test.

  24. Sunshine1810

    pear / 1556 posts

@lazypanda: sorry about your 1 hour test! I hope your 3 hour one goes better!

I had my u/s this morning (5w6d) and the doctor could only see the gestational sac. She said it might just be too early and to remain cautiously optimistic, but of course I'm not.

  25. lazypanda

    kiwi / 636 posts

@Sunshine1810: thank you! I'm getting anxious again as I wait for a generic counselor to contact me since my recent blood work also indicated a different concern. As for your u/s, don't fret too much (easier said than done). For me, at 6w4d (based on LMP), the RE only saw the gestational sac & what appeared to be a very transparent yolk sac. I ended up being 5w4d or 5w6d based on measurement, the following week, we saw the heartbeat!

@Sunshine1810: When will you get your repeat scan? I know how stressful that is...FX that you see a happy little bean soon!

  27. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@lazypanda: Was that on a quad screen? I hope your GTT goes well! FX for more reassuring news soon...

  28. Sunshine1810

    pear / 1556 posts

@lazypanda: Thanks! I am trying to stay as optimistic as I can, but it's difficult.

@FliegepilzHut: I know you understand, I thought about you yesterday. No repeat scan for two weeks. My RE is out of town next week and she likes to be there for the scans.

  29. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@Sunshine1810: That's going to be a hard couple of weeks... FX extra hard for good news with your next scan! Did your doc feel like you might have had a late implantation, since your initial beta was low? I'm trying to remember how many DPO/dpt you were with your first labs... I'm staying optimistic for you! Sending hugs and thinking of you!

  30. Sunshine1810

    pear / 1556 posts

@FliegepilzHut: Yeah two weeks is a long time to wait! She said it is possible that I had a late implantation date. She said it's about 50/50 as to what she sees on an early scan, I just don't have a good feeling. Thanks for staying optimistic for me!

  31. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@Sunshine1810: Did they talk about doing another beta? I'm extremely hopeful that in 2 weeks you'll see a healthy little bean! Is your DH holding up okay?

  32. Sunshine1810

    pear / 1556 posts

@FliegepilzHut: She didn't mention doing another beta. I hope we get some good news too, I am just preparing myself in case we don't. My DH is much better than me. He heard her say she's cautiously optimistic and that 50% of the time she doesn't see anything besides the gestational sac this early, so he is focusing on that. He doesn't read up on this stuff as much as I do.

  33. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@Sunshine1810: I understand. I don't know how either...but I hope you're able to keep most of your worry at bay!

  34. mrswin

    nectarine / 2433 posts

@Sunshine1810: I'm sorry that she wasn't able to see more on the ultrasound and that she is going to be away for 2 weeks so you have to wait. I am hopeful for you that your next scan shows that your little one is right on track.

@lazypanda: Haha, that is a lot of celebrating in one month! You already had your 1hr test??? How many weeks are you now? I hope the genetic counsellor gets back to you soon.

@Sunshine1810: 5w6d is super early, I feel like its a good thing she saw the sac at least. Sorry you have to wait 2 weeks, I swear the 1st trimester was the longest and slowest weeks of my life. Try and stay positive, wishing you the best!

@lazypanda: Hope the genetic counseler gets back to you soon!

AFM.. not much going on. Hit 14 weeks yesterday. Really having a hard time with only being seen every 4 weeks now after having a weekly scan up until 13 weeks. I guess once I can feel the baby kicking it will be better but for now I am just like.. " what is going on in there?!?! Are you ok baby?!"

Question for those farther along.. So I had my NT scan right before 13 weeks. Now my next doctors appointment is at 16 weeks then anatomy scan at 20 weeks. Do you think I will get scanned at 16 weeks or will just they just check for a heart rate? I just don't want to get excited thinking I can find out the gender then if they arent checking that closely. If not I will just schedule a scan somewhere else, DH doesn't want to wait until 20 weeks.

  37. FaithFertility

    eggplant / 11861 posts

@Mrs.Pinecone316: I had a scan at 9 weeks and we didn't have another u/s until 20week since we opted out of the NT scan....so I don't think you would have a scan at 16weeks...my OB practice does not do any other u/s unless there is an issue.......

But maybe with twins it is different!

  38. FaithFertility

    eggplant / 11861 posts

@Mrs.Pinecone316: I also wanted to say that for me too the hardest time was from about 14-26 weeks..it was solo hard to go 4weeks and not really feel baby......even when I did feel her I would freak out alto, because I would think ohh she is not as active as yesterday...and so on.....it is so crazy how much we love them already!!!

  39. mrswin

    nectarine / 2433 posts

@Mrs.Pinecone316: I am just a couple days ahead of you. As far as I understand they will only check the heartbeat on the Doppler at the 16 week appointment and no other ultrasounds until 20 weeks. Can you call the office and check with the nurse?

  40. lazypanda

    kiwi / 636 posts

@FliegepilzHut: @Sunshine1810: @mrswin: @Mrs.Pinecone316: Thanks ladies. I'm still twiddling my thumbs waiting for the genetic counselor, but not quite as worried. I asked my NP friend and she said baby will be fine and just has a 25% chance of being a carrier which should not affect him/her.

@FliegepilzHut: I'm not sure what the quad screen is. They took 8 vials of blood from me on Saturday (in addition to whatever blood work is needed for the NT scan) and the glucose 1 hour test had shown up on my list of labs to complete.

@mrswin: by LMP, I'm 12 weeks but by due date, I'm 11w2d. I get to see baby again on Monday for my NT scan, so I'll feel good when I see baby soon. The NP I saw at my "first prenatal" ordered the glucose test early since there's a family history of GD?
