Since we got a new board I thought I would start a check in to see where everyone is at! I am only recently pregnant and have joined in the pregnancy after Infertility support group but it is hard to know how far along everyone is and how they got there without reading through 20-some pages! Are you more excited at this point or still fearful? I have waves of excitement and fear but it still mostly doesn't feel real yet.. Trying to stay hopeful and trusting that everything will be ok.

How did you finally get your BFP? Accident, NTNP
Any previous children? Yes, a son who is almost 1 via IUI
Do you know your babies gender yet? Nope
Are you more excited at this point or still fearful? Fearful. My 6 week ultrasound showed two empty sacs. The OB said it was probably too early and I go back for another ultrasound on Tuesday. Praying for better news.

Are you more excited at this point or still fearful? Fearful, have an early US scheduled for next week to see if everything is where it's supposed to be but blood tests are normal so far.

Do you know your babies gender yet? It's locked in a box in the basement. So don't know yet.
Are you more excited at this point or still fearful? I'm excited but I still get scared, I don't think the fear will go away until I deliver. I'm hoping my anatomy scan will help.

How did you finally get your BFP? Miracle. I was about to start treatment in a month when I got my BFP the day before Christmas eve.

Are you more excited at this point or still fearful? Tomorrow I am being induced. I'm a little nervous... I wish I had gone in to labour on my own and I am already worried about breast feeding... I do not trust my body to work properly.

How did you finally get your BFP?
We were TTC for almost 3yrs, had 2 CPs after our first 2 IUIs, 1 failed IUI and were going through some RPL testing and during a month off and on a cruise God decided it was time!!!
Any previous children? Nope!

I am getting more and more excited!!!! But I can not say I don't worry, but those feelings are getting more far and few between!

Are you more excited at this point or still fearful? I'm definitely excited now that I have my positive beta. Before that I POASed every day since my BFP. I think I'll be a little nervous until I see the ultrasound.

I have a little vent for you guys. My good friend is 25 weeks and I told her about my positive beta today. She congratulated me of course, but she said something that kinda rubbed me the wrong way. She said she's nervous about her pregnancy (which was an accident). I told her everything would be fine, but she said "my partner is a trained OB, we remain cautious." I'm not sure if she's talking about the health of the baby or labor or what. I'm sure I'm just being sensitive, but here I am at 4 weeks trying to be optimistic! It was kind of a downer.

Today I gave DH a onesie that I bought 2 years ago (before his accident, when we first started TTC). It's from a bookstore in Portland and it says "Born To Read". He loved it and I am so happy to be able to give it to him. He has been doing really well with his walking in therapy. I hope he's able to walk independently by the time this LO is born

Was taking my second unmedicated cycle but added acupuncture. We had just had an IVF/WTF consult to discuss potential next steps and decided that we would try 4 more IUIs before moving onto IVF.

I'm starting to get excited, but still pretty fearful. I think I'll feel slightly better when I see the heartbeat.

@Mrs.Pinecone316: I'm so glad you started this thread. It's what I need now, especially since I miss the IF ladies with the weekly check ins. I'm still hoping I'll see 2 heartbeats at my u/s on 9/8!

I woke up craving avocados as well! I need to go buy some for our weekend trip away. At what point did you stop POAS? I've still been doing so because of the fear of not seeing darkening lines.

@macintosh: Sounds like her OB partner is telling her too much! as a nicu nurse unfortunately we are tainted with all the bad scenarios we see all the time even though its a small percentage of the population. I always make sure to keep quiet with the crazy work stories around my pregnant friends.. always better to be optimistic!
@FaithFertility: awww Christmas baby! How exciting:) And I could always go for an avocado. I could eat them plain with a spoon!

It is crazy, I am so glad you are here too!!! I truly still think about it and cry! She is our Caribbean bean we would call her when we first found out.....and has stuck!
I actually POAS only 3 times once when I saw the BFP and again the next day with a FRER and a digi......cant say that if I had more at home I wouldn't of POAS

@macintosh: Thank you! I think my husband is more afraid of seeing twins. We didn't plan on that.
@lazypanda: We have no plans really, so it should be. I gave up POAS after it said 3 weeks +. Watching the colors change would stress me out after a certain point I'm sure.
@macintosh: I'm sorry she said that to you. Not ok especially since she's so far outside of the risk bubble. And are you talking about Powell's? I'm an OR girl myself.
@poprocks7911: From personal experience, early ultrasounds can be rough because sometimes they don't show anything. But I pray that you see a perfect little "worm"!

@macintosh: I probably couldn't keep my feelings to myself if someone said that to me, and would have given a super sarcastic response but pregnancy has made me super bitchy. It's such a small percentage of things that go bad, I'm sure her partner is giving her too much info and worrying her to death.
@lazypanda: I'm happy your here too! I love that card so much, it made me laugh so hard when I picked it out, I'm glad you liked it.
@Mrs.Pinecone316: We are doing a private gender reveal for ourselves at my DH birthday dinner on Sept. 25 (only 26 days, not that I'm counting or anything 
) and then we will do a big reveal at our shower in November. I have no idea how I'm going to keep it a secret that long but I will try my hardest. There is no way I could be team green.

@Mrs.Pinecone316: Yeah, that makes sense. I mean we all know that anything can happen, but I'd rather remain optimistic. It's not as if I don't have my worries. I guess I just wish my friend seemed more happy to be pregnant. I guess we won't have the close relationship I hoped for until maybe after our LOs are born.
@marionberry: Yes, Powells! I went to Portland on a work trip 2 years ago. DH is a librarian and loves bookstores. Hope you're enjoying your weekend and not too stressed out.
@MrsTal: LOL! I probably would've said more if it wasn't a text conversation. Since my husband survived such a traumatic accident, I've forced myself to be come an optimist. It's the only way to keep going sometimes, but not everyone has that perspective.
So last night my first real bout of morning sickness struck in the middle if the night, ugh! I'm only 4w3d today, isn't that early?

Ok, quick rant, I gave up caffine all together this pregnancy and don't even do decafe coffee, but I just went to the mall and smelled the pumpkin spice from Star bucks so I thought I'll treat myslef to a small decafe pumpkin spice latte, well as I walked away 3 sips in the barista comes hollering MISS MISS, she then says I'm sorry I didn't make it decafe and relized once you walked away and handed me a new one.....as grateful as I was that I was only 3 sips in and she actually cared enough to swap it...I though what about a drive through? Or a lazy worker?
Needless to say this is the last "treat" like this. .....

@FaithFertility: Aww, sorry about your PSL mix-up! I'd like to think that your body would recognize the caffeine. I know if I have too much (even though I drink a lot normally) I usually feel jittery really fast. I haven't quit caffeine, but I have cut back to one small cup per day. That means I'm saving money on Starbucks runs already!

@FaithFertility: Try not to worry too much about the caffeine. I didn't drink any until the 3rd trimester last time but this time I've been drinking half caff drinks fairly often. ACOG says you can basically have 16oz of caffeinated coffee a day with no risk. So a few sips are ok. I just make sure to say to the barista "decaf right?" If she doesn't say it is, just to be sure.

Sorry if I'm posting this in too many places. I'm trying to remember everywhere I was supposed to update on my ultrasound today. I'm having twins!!! 2 healthy 8 week old babies with heartbeats of 168. I'm a bit in shock but happy.
