    @marionberry: I'm really happy & excited for you.

    I was chatting with DH & we both were saying that I am a lot more bloated than I normally am right before AF usually shows. I can't imagine thinking that I'd be this big this early so I'm wondering if it might be a side effect of the progesterone suppositories. It's taking a lot for me to fit into my suits for work right now. Does anyone else have that problem? With my jeans, I've been using the hair tie trick but unfortunately that doesn't work for dress pants. What were some tricks/changes you made in keeping your pregnancy hush hush in the beginning?

    @marionberry: what a crazy outcome for a surprise pregnancy considering what you went through to get J! I'm so excited for you! Good thing you just got that Pilot

    @lazypanda: Yes! I am so bloated. I believe it started after my ER (when I started Crinone) and it only got worse after implantation. I'm actually feeling a little self conscious b/c I know I gained a few pounds during IVF. I work from home so I've been living in yoga pants, but even my elastic waist PJs feel tight. I actually tried on some maternity jeans yesterday at Target, but the waistband was waaay too big. Could you do a Bella band with a long blouse for work?

    I got my second beta results - 2410! That's a little high, right? I'm excited for my ultrasound next Tuesday

    @Mrs.Pinecone316: She said April 11 but delivery in March most likely.
    @Shutterbug: We joked with the sales guy that there was a potential for twins but we weren't too serious. Little did we know!
    @FliegepilzHut: @lazypanda: Thank you ladies!
    @macintosh: How far along are you? Is this your first or second beta?

  6. macintosh

    pear / 1750 posts

    @marionberry: Second beta. I'm 14dp5dt, 4w5d.

  7. lazypanda

    @macintosh: ooo, maybe twins then? I'm noticing the trend of twin pregnancies now. Maybe it was the super moon that happened in August that's increased the number of twin pregnancies? Next week can't come soon enough! I'll look into the bella band. My acupuncturist suggested that I wear more dresses as she does not want any pressure on the abdomen. But most of my dresses are fitted which don't work so well with trying to hide the bloat. Oh well, its fine, I'm happy to have this problem to deal with.

    @lazypanda: Goodness, I hope not! We transferred one embro, so it could only be spontaneous twins. I'm hoping it's just a singleton. We'd like to have 2 eventually, but one at a time!

    @macintosh: I agree that your levels are really high! It could be twins if they split - do identical twins run in your family at all? If not, I assume a girl because I ready yesterday that an Israeli study showed higher beta levels meant girls.

  10. Mrs.Pinecone316

    persimmon / 1316 posts

    @macintosh: My beta at 4w4d was only 1100 with my twins.. Yours is really high! Don't mean to scare you because I know you only want one Looking forward to your ultrasound next week!I remember reading somewhere that certain grade embryos were more likely to split, but from what I remember you had a great 5 day blast, I think it was 3d that split more.
    @lazypanda: With my OHSS I needed a belly band. They had black and white ones at Target and they were much more comfortable than the rubber band trick.
    @marionberry: Yeah, its weird having an April due date knowing they won't be april babies!

    AFM. I had my first night back at work since recovering from my OHSS. Now 1 week until my next ultrasound!

    @marionberry: So exciting to hear you are having twins!! You must be so excited.

    @macintosh: Wow, that is a high beta!! Mine was only 141 14dp3dt. I have a feeling it may be twins, too!!

    I'm getting confused between this thread and the other older thread. LOL

    How did you finally get your BFP? after trying for 4 years with undiagnosed infertility, 2 failed IUIs, and expensive asian herbal treatments, it finally just happened on it's own.
    Any previous children? no!
    Do you know your babies gender yet? no!
    Are you more excited at this point or still fearful? i drastically swing back and forth between excited and fearful. i saw the baby's heartbeat today~!! but i'm still fearful because a good friend recently lost her baby even after she saw the heartbeat.

    @Mrs.Pinecone316: I know! Definitely born in March and it feels so soon!
    @Jenn23: Very excited and nervous all at the same time.
    @everbee: Yay! I love how for so many people it just happens when you don't try at all - weird huh! I'd love for you to join me on the April Mamas board. Congrats!

    @everbee: congratulations!

    @macintosh: I will be patiently waiting to hear about your u/a cuz those betas seem really high, I think twins too.

    pear / 1750 posts

    @marionberry: you guys are freaking me out, lol! No twins in my family and from what I've read identical twins are not hereditary. I wonder if you're right about the gender.

    @Mrs.Pinecone316: Ack! You just had me googling and it looks like blastocysts do have a slightly higher risk if splitting, but it's still only 2%. I'm glad you're feeling well enough to go back to work!

    @Jenn23: Oh, stahp with the twin stuff! Your ultrasound is tomorrow, right?

    @everbee: Congratulations and welcome!

    @MrsTal: Ok now I'm having a mini freak-out! I'm hoping it's just one really healthy singleton. We'll find out next Tuesday!

    @everbee: Welcome!! SO happy for you and that little heartbeat inside

  17. lazypanda

    kiwi / 636 posts

    @everbee: congrats and welcome! super excited that you get to join in sharing your pregnancy after IF journey!

    @Mrs.Pinecone316: I've got the belly band in my "cart" for amazon. Unfortunately, a part of me is too afraid to purchase it just yet since I'm so scared of miscarriage. Darn IF and past chemical pregnancy. I guess my little ray of light is that I am further along than I was in May!

    ETA: Woohoo! Just got my HCG results today and my level is at 9200! By LMP, I am 5w6d, however, I know I ovulated past CD14, more like cd20 and cd24. Maybe I should bite the bullet and just order the belly bands. My bloated belly is so big. We haven't told family yet and at dinner with FIL tonight, he commented on how much I was eating! I was bursting (literally and figuratively) to tell him but DH and I agreed that we would wait until we saw the heartbeat before telling family.

    thanks everyone~! it's still pretty early....and i have the fear that if we lose the baby, it will take forever to get pregnant again. we'll see i guess? cautiously optimistic??

  19. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

    @lazypanda: @everbee: As I've had to remind myself and others on this board throughout time, remember that today you are pregnant and you love your baby. Try not to spend time thinking about what ifs but celebrate the moment you're in. If you have to return your belly band down the road you can but don't hold off on buying it out of fear. You are mamas. Yay!

    @marionberry: thank you! The rational part of me says I should be excited that I am at this point. The irrational/IF Debbie-downer side says to not get too excited because it could come crashing down at any moment. I'm making it a point to come up with at least one positive thought a day.

    So mine today is, I am 6 weeks pregnant today & this time next week, I'll have more people to share in the joy with me!

    @everbee: we're not too far away from one another if I go by LMP. Which Asian herbal concoctions did you use, if you don't mind me asking?

  22. everbee

    cherry / 101 posts

    @lazypanda: actually i don't know. i was referred to a korean herbal medicine specialist who concocts special blends specifically for your needs after having a personal consultation. a friend swore by her, saying she helped her brother and his wife with their fertility issues. seems like the going thing is that if the woman is too cold and the man is too hot, they can't make babies or something (heard this from other herbalists and acupuncturists as well). i had a blend and my husband had a different blend and we did one month of drinking this stuff 3 (? i forget now) times a day. it was disgusting and really expensive. i ended up not wanting to do more because i felt like she wasn't accurate about us anyway. her diagnoses was that he had heartburn and reflux issues, and actually, it's me that's had heartburn and reflux issues, he has none. but i know a lot of people who swear by her. she lives in california somewhere. i'm on the east coast and she makes occasional trips here. i drove to maryland just to see her.

    How is everyone doing today? Any plans for the weekend? Anyone having ultrasounds next week?

    I'm looking forward to Pilates, as long as I can get up early enough tomorrow. I'm also hoping that I can eat some pizza tonight without having horrible heartburn

    I'm excited for my first ultrasound Tuesday at 5w5d.

    @lazypanda: great beta, congrats!!

    @macintosh: You are awesome for feeling up to pilates! I am still wiped out trying to get my energy back from the ohss. My next ultrasound is next tuesday too!

    @macintosh: we're having pizza for dinner tonight as well! but, man pilates??? you are so good! I can hardly move around much with my bloated belly.

    @Mrs.Pinecone316: thank you! The RE nurse emailed me to say that I no longer need to continue testing HCG.

    AFM, I have my first u/s on Monday at 6w4d! I'm definitely looking forward to seeing a heartbeat or two. I've never hoped for a Monday to come sooner!

  26. macintosh

    @Mrs.Pinecone316: I had to go to pilates today, I haven't been in a month! I don't blame you for taking it easy at all, you deserve to after being so sick!

    @lazypanda: I have been making pizzas lately, but I forgot to pick up the dough at TJs so I ordered in last night. It was soooo good! Get this, I ate a graham cracker for a snack and got heartburn. Then I ate a ton of pizza later and I was fine! So weird. My doctor recommend Mylanta for my heartburn and it's actually helping the bloating a bit. GL on Monday!

    So I did go to pilates today! It was a tough workout but I'm glad I did it. I also got to tell my pilates teacher the good news, bc she's going to be my doula

    @Mrs.Pinecone316: Good luck at your ultrasound tomorrow! I'm so excited to hear how the babies are doing!!

    @macintosh: @Mrs.Pinecone316: @Jenn23: thanks!

    So looks like it's only one baby in there but I'm measuring at 6w1d rather than 6w4d. DH was relieved as he was worried about handling twins. My next appt is 9/19 where the RE said we should see a lot then. I could've come in earlier but I already have my appt with the nutritionist then & would not want to take an additional day off work. So looks like I'll be a May mama. I won't "graduate" from the RE until they measure/see the heartbeat. My acupuncturist says that based on my pulse, it's a really strong pregnancy & can see the potential for twins. Because of how strong my pulse is, she already has a gender prediction for my LO. I know it's silly, but a part of me still thinks twins.

    @lazypanda: Yay, I am excited for you, please don't worry about the baby measuring a few days behind....right now they grow so quick and fast, that days make differences!

    I didn't graduate from my RE until 8weeks!!!

    Sounds like all is well, and you never know twins is still an option!

    How did you finally get your BFP? IUI with Menopur, HCG trigger and progesterone
    Any previous children? Just our yellow lab, Butters
    Do you know your babies gender yet? Girl!!
    Are you more excited at this point or still fearful? Very excited! No fear. I was terrified in the first trimester. Feeling great now, both physically and mentally. Feeling her move around definitely helps me to not worry.

    Hey everyone!
    Had my u/s today. Baby A was looking great, Baby B sadly didn't have a heart beat anymore. We are doing ok, feeling at peace with it and trusting God completely. Still feel very blessed to have 1 little one in there.

    @Mrs.Pinecone316: My heart goes out to you! Sending lots of positive thoughts for you, your DH, and Baby A. I'm glad that you're feeling at peace. (BTW-- a good friend had a very similar occurrence after her IVF cycle-- she has a delightful little boy at home now.) You're in my thoughts!

    @Mrs.Pinecone316: I'm glad to hear that Baby A is doing well. Sending lots of positive thoughts to you & your little family.

    @FaithFertility: thank you for the positive encouragement! I'm glad that there are several women on here who totally understand how nervous us newbie IF crossovers are.

    This morning I woke up sad when my pregnancy app said I should have a heartbeat going strong already. I went and manually changed my settings again to reflect that I'm 3 days behind the previous EDD. And then, with the change in EDD, the first little article that popped up was about ectopic pregnancies. I just thought to myself, oh no, what if my feelings about another baby is an ectopic one then! I had to remind myself that they would've seen that at my u/s yesterday. I'm now hoping for next Friday to come sooner now!

    @lazypanda: awww I am sorry, I maybe needing to take my own advice, but don't listen to apps or books either....I feel like they are generalized and I know I have got anxiety over many things they have said.......
    Example: That by 26 weeks my kicks should be so strong that I can see my belly move....well I have an anterior placenta so that hides alto of her movement even though I know that...reading that still made me sad!

    How far were you when you had your u/s last????
