Pregnant after a loss

@MaryM: I was going to take my last one to see the 3 plus for reassurance at some point before the ultrasound but chicken out. I decided it was too much stress because if it had come back not 3+ yet, I'd have been freaking out until the U/S. Now it's a moot point because we've see baby and its measuring right in.

@travellingbee: That's my plan. I don't want to take the remaining one for more than a week so it should show a different result, but by that point, I'll be about a week away from my US. But I think I am more calm knowing I at least have the option of testing between now and then

    @FliegepilzHut: thank you!

Just got back from our appointment. There was a major mix-up at the Drs office and I didn't have an appointment (que panic!) but I got fit in with a midwife. Only bad thing is we didn't get an US on the better machine but we did get one and we saw the baby and the heartbeat. We also got to hear the heartbeat!

Measuring exactly on date. Heres our little peanut. Hopefully we'll get a better/clearer picture when we go for the NT scan in 2 weeks.

Your story: My husband and I have been TTC for almost 3 years. I did get pregnant once naturally at the end of 2014, but had a missed miscarriage at 10 weeks (heartbeat stopped sometime during the 9th week). I had a D&C a few days before Christmas and it was one of the lowest points of my life. We started infertility treatment as soon as I recovered from my D&C and after 1 timed intercourse cycle, 6 IUIs, an IVF cycle (without a fresh transfer due to OHSS) and a FET, I am finally pregnant again!
    Due Date: 1/5/16
    LO #: 1
How are you coping with pregnancy after a loss: I am absolutely terrified. I started out pretty nervous after our previous loss and experience with infertility, but last week I had some heavy bleeding that has really freaked me out. Thankfully everything looks okay with my pregnancy by ultrasound (both last week and today), but my doctor was of course very concerned after the amount of bleeding.
Is your doctor recommending different care after a loss: No, but I am progesterone and estrogen injections after my FET and will be on those until 10 weeks.
Something interesting about you: I have two dogs and I am a huge animal lover! I have a Masters degree in Reproductive Health & Genetics and PhD in Molecular biology (my research was in the field of reproductive biology) - I know way too much about this whole field and that can be extra terrifying sometimes!

@lauren0817: Welcome and congrats! Your IF/loss history is really similar to mine...and I'm currently 27weeks pregnant after a FET! I had a lot of weird bleeding during my early pregnancy this time, which I chalked up to my cervix being "sensitive" due to the estrogen and progesterone supplements. I (and we all, I think) really do understand how scary these early weeks can be! Feel free to "wall" me any time if you have questions or want to compare notes!

@Lauren0817: Maybe you have discussed it in the Jan 2016 board already, but @marym, @travellingbee, and I all struggled with infertility to varying degrees with varying causes, as well as had losses. We are all due in Jan 2016 like you, and I hope we stay that way! I haven't joined in on the Jan 2016 board, still waiting for more betas.

Also, I find it SOO interesting that you have extensively studied the fields of reproductive biology & health!

I know it was risky to take a digital today hoping for a "2-3" reading at 4w3d; but I needed some good news! If it was bad news I would have mostly ignored it as "too early, oh well." this result makes me so relieved, considering I got a negative on the digi just 6 days ago!

@lauren0817: That's the only way to go! Also seek out the folks (IRL, on HB) who can understand what you're going through...it makes all the difference sometimes!

@lauren0817: I did my 3rd beta yesterday and normally they have a 1-day turnaround but my doctor did not get the test results back in time So I guess I'll find out Monday, which will then have been 6 full days since my last beta news! Oh well, thankfully the Clearblue digi will tide me over I'll also be doing a 4th (and hopefully last) beta on Monday, with results on Tuesday.

Has anyone else been calming themselves down by using OPKs?

I bought BABI brand ones in bulk a while ago and checked to see if they also tested positive when I got my BFP. They tend to take a while to show results (the package says 10 minutes), but last night it was immediately so much darker than the control!

@MaryM: I'm nauseous enough that I don't feel the need anymore to test. I have a daily reminder that I am still pregnant for now. But I totally understand and have peed on so many kinds of sticks it isn't even funny.

@travellingbee: My SIL told her kids this weekend she was pregnant. Her 7 year old (who is a major talker and asks all kinds of questions) wanted to know how she knew so she said she peed on a stick. He thought she went outside and found a tree branch to pee on. lol

@MaryM: I did that FOREVER after I ran out of HPTs. They turned up so much darker than my hpts ever did and made me feel better lol. I'm almost 30 weeks now and I still have all the tests lines up on my vanity out of superstition (or something). I still need the daily reminder even though I feel him moving around all the time lol. AKA I feel your pain

@ValentineMommy: Our vanity is tiny, so I haven't been saving them, but I may have pulled one or two out of the trash the next day

@MaryM: that's awesome you're pregnant the same time as your SIL! And that's so cute - peeing on a tree branch! I could see that being a little confusing!

@HappyBluebird: Well, SIL and I have been pregnant together before... She was pregnant with her youngest when I MCed.

I'm excited about it for the most part, but this morning I got worried about logistics. She has 8 kids and my mom (who lives in their in law suite) usually watches their kids when she goes into labor. But she's only due two weeks after me...so will my mom leave me (I'm assuming she'd come help out) if she goes into labor?

Totally premature to worry about that though I know...

Beta of 304 from last Thursday, with a doubling time of 37 hours, so great and right on track! 5 weeks tomorrow first appt set for 7 weeks. Also I'm having a lot more symptoms than before, so, that's a good sign.

As for taking more hpts/opks, I took 6 FRERs already and 4 clearblue digi and about 15 wondfos!! I've only saved the FRERs since those are the darkest. I wrote on them with sharpie and had them lined up on the bathroom counter for the first week, but then took pity on my husband and put them all in a jar on my dresser
