Pregnant after a loss

    @Snowybreeze: The nurse I spoke with yesterday didn't think it was necessary, but didn't give me a hard time about it. I said I'd like to do one more, but didn't need to keep doing them. She thought that was reasonable (assuming all is well) She actually offered me an early ultrasound, but I (think) I can hold off until November 4!

    @Snowybreeze: sorry you had so much trouble with the beta order. I haven't used this myself but another user on here (I'm pretty sure it was MrsPanda) has posted about a site where you can order a beta for yourself without a prescription for about $50 IIRC. I'll see if she can repost that info if you have trouble again.

    @Snowybreeze: Sorry you are having a hard time with your doctor, but glad they ordered it anyway! Your numbers are really good too! Way higher than mine were! I never personally had any problems since I have had recurring m/c's and the tests are covered by my insurance at that point.

    @Anya: Thanks again for sending me the link to the board post in case I need it later.

    I had my second beta yesterday (27dpo) and got the results today: 38,608!!! I will now patiently wait for my first pre-natal =)

    @Jess1483: ME TOO! it's been 5 days straight of nausea. I cannot eat anything that I used to love either, except a few. I only want food that is sour and spicy! Yesterday I ate 3 mini granny smith apples and cherry tomatoes. and mmmh I'm thinking of pineapple. I want buffalo wings. I want diavolo pasta. I also can only drink super cold iced water.
    I don't think I had any nausea or it was very mild for me to notice during 1st pregnancy, so this is completely new to me. I am also sooooooo tired and sleepy by 3. DH has been great, playing with DD and I just sit and watch. He's also awesome whenever I craved something he goes out and get them for me. I love being pregnant!

    @Snowybreeze: Those are great betas!!

    I have not had too much nausea or food cravings so much. Sometimes I do get really in the mood for something, but if I don't have it, then I am fine going without. I for the most part have just been having bloat, back pain, and really really tender breasts. Last night, when I was not wearing a bra, DH skimmed across my boobs reaching for something and I yelled at him because just the touch really hurt. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a remedy for this situation.

    Thanks all!

    @Eko: lol, I give DH such a hard time whenever he "grazes" by my boobs. Finally, I'm not the only one!

    and now sensitive teeth...makes me cringe to brush. I don't have any teeth problems for sure, it just happened suddenly...must be a new pregnancy symptom. Anyone have that too?

    Taking a giant leap of faith by even "roll calling"...we shall see.

    Your story: Where to begin? My first pregnancy was in April but after getting positives at 10 dpo, AF came a few days later. I got pregnant again in June but after I went in for an ultrasound due to spotting, they found it was a blighted ovum at nearly 11 weeks. I had my D &C in August. I had to take some time off and now, surprisingly, find myself pregnant again. I found out two days ago at 12 dpo.
    Due Date: by LMP= July 1. By O = July 3

    How are you coping with pregnancy after a loss: Honestly, I just feel really numb about it and almost put-off...it's difficult to explain. It's just really hard to get my hopes up, so I am very detached. It's not that I don't want to be pregnant or I don't want a baby but I am very conflicted.
    Is your doctor recommending different care after a loss: I haven't told my doctor yet.
    Something interesting about you: My first anniversary is next month!

    @simplyfelicity: I'm so happy to see you here & hopefully faith will KEEP you here!! I hope that each day that passes will allow you to be a little more excited & let it sink in. "Today you are pregnant!" Oh, & happy anniversary coming up!!

    Afm, I'm at 9w2d today, and while I genuinely am excited, there are days where I worry this is too good to be true & somehow I am being too optimistic, & will be even more devastated than the 1st time if something happens. But fortunately, I don't tend to stay in that funk. I just can't. I love this baby growing inside me so much already, I just have to celebrate each day as it ticks away on my 2 different pregnancy apps.

    @Jess1483: yay for nausea! Silly how something so awful can make one feel better but that was my experience in the first tri also

    @Snowybreeze: hooray for strong betas!

    @simplyfelicity: congrats at your bfp! I'm hoping the first few weeks and months fly by for you! I'm 34 weeks and am still struggling with feeling like "is this really going to happen"?

    @simplyfelicity: No, of course you're not being a Debbie Downer. I really do get it & you can process it all however you need to! But do know that you have SOOOOO many people cheering you on & being hopeful on your behalf! The u/s(s) were my real turning point, too. It all felt so much more real seeing baby in there & especially seeing a heart beat. Can't wait for you to get there, mama.

    I'm being brave too, but only because I have brave friends. @simplyfelicity

    *still quietly hopeful but pretty petrified!*

    Your Story: We fell pregnant with our daughter after 2 years of TTC, and 2 rounds of IVF. She is my miracle girl, and I love her so much. After trying naturally for a while (pointless, with PCOS, anovulation & male factor issues, but hey, worth a shot!) - we decided to go back and use one of our frosties... we had 2 left. After our first Frozen Embryo Transfer, we got pregnant again! We were over the moon and SO excited. Little one was due in March 2015, just a few weeks before Georgia turned 2. The perfect age gap. We saw baby several times, strong heartbeat, really gorgeous little bubba. At 11 weeks, I went for a routine OB appt, and there was no heartbeat. I'd had a missed miscarriage, they estimated I'd lost the baby at around 10 weeks. D&C the following day, and our dreams were shattered. It's hard losing a baby, but it's REALLY shitty when you're infertile too. Like a double whammy. To make things worse, my SIL was due 5 days after me... so I've had to watch her getting pregnant & no luck myself. It's been a shocking few months. We later found out through genetic testing that the baby was a boy, who we called Noah to remember him. He had T21 (down's) which was the reason we lost him. I miss that little man so, so much, even though he was so tiny. We decided to use our final frozen embryo as soon as we could.... and here we are.

    Due Date: Based on our 5 day IVF transfer, July 5th.

    LO #: 2

    How are you coping with pregnancy after a loss: I just got the shadows on the pee sticks a few days ago, proper line yesterday. The CB digi says 1-2 weeks pregnant today though, so I'm breathing a little better. But mostly pretty freaking petrified and taking it one day at a time.

    Is your doctor recommending different care after a loss: I haven't even rung my old OB yet because I'm too scared to jinx things. Is that weird?

    Something interesting about you: We had 3 embryos from our 2nd IVF round. The first we transferred was Georgia (nearly 19 months old). The second was our angel baby. The third .... is now. So far we're on 3/3 implanting embies from the same cycle - which is pretty amazing.

    Really hoping I can stick around these boards, that this little tiny blobby embryo is healthy and sticks around..

  28. Jess1483

    nectarine / 2641 posts

    @simplyfelicity: nauseous--yay! But actually, I have a whole slew of symptoms I never got with the miscarriage. And while I know that's no guarantee, it still makes me feel a lot better. I am getting anxious about my u/s, which is scheduled for Nov. 4.

    @Jess1483: It's funny how every pregnancy is different. And how we can be happy about nausea. I totally get it! I am getting "lightening boobs!" It comes and goes. It's not like they are sore on the outside but inside. So much boob talk, haha. It hurts! I don't remember this from last time.

    12dpo today... and thankfully, a teeny bit darker. Nowhere near as dark as your line, yet, but still.. one day at a time!
