My husband and I are in the middle of going back and forth between REALLY wanting another child and REALLY loving life with just one, our 2-yr-old daughter. I was chatting with a woman at Barnes & Noble the other day and she mentioned to me that giving Q a sibling would be a gift to her. I never really thought about it that way and if that's true, I wouldn't hesitate a minute. My main fear of having #2 is somehow hurting my little Q. Do you think your kids are gifts to one another? Do you feel like your own siblings are a gift to you and you to them?
In all seriousness, I feel so blessed to have a sister. She's my family. If I can give my daughter a sibling, I absolutely will. I think a sibling is more important than the other things people say they can buy if they don't have a second child. But each person has their own priorities so do what you want with what you've got!
