Any suggestions for a boy age 2-3?
Want - I'm thinking just a set of trucks or something?
Wear - boys dress up costumes?
Need - backpack? I don't know, undies for potty training?
Read - any book recommendations? Maybe from Usborn?
We also may be doing some type of activity certificate. Any ideas?

Want - trucks and a road mat thing
Need - a number/counting puzzle
Wear - some soccer shoes (supposing his new soccer class continues to be a hit)

I've got a 2 yo and a 3 yo boy!
Want - Maybe two smaller bruder trucks - one for each boy.
Need - Winter coat for oldest. truck fork and spoon for youngest (to match the set the oldest has!)
Wear - They want me to knit them sweaters! 
Read - They would love any and all Thomas and Friends books... I will supplement with books I want to read to them too haha.
FWIW my boys love the following books:
Digger, Dozer, Dumper.
Kate and Jim McMullan series: I Stink, I'm Dirty etc., etc.,

Wear: underwear? We're finally making some headway in potty training. Maybe some new socks and thermals too.

For a great toddler boy "read", my son (almost 3) is LOVING a book called Here Comes Destructosaurus by Aaron Reynolds, illustrated by Jeremy Tankard. It's a mom nagging a Godzilla type monster destroying the city. "Wipe your feet, Destructosaurus, you're raining seaweed and dead fish all over the tourists! Put that building down, Destructosaurus!" It's hilarious.

@knittylady: yes I would kinda like some lift or sound or interactive book for him. I will borrow a lot from the library but these types the library never has. We have two or three generic list the flap truck books but would like some that go with a story.

How about a book by Oliver Jeffers? We really enjoy them around here. Some of our faves are Stuck, Lost & Found and The Way Back Home.

Need - he "needs" Melissa and Doug reusable sticker books because they occupy him for 20min at a time 
Wear - Converse shoes or another pricier sneaker
Read - The Pigeon Needs a Bath (he loves the pigeon book series)

Mine turns 3 right before Christmas!
Want: He adores Paw Patrol and we are getting him a few of the characters from Kohl's.
Need: a little rolling suitcase for upcoming trips. Time for him to start carrying his gear 
Wear: pajamas

Magnatiles or Tegu blocks, build on something you already have? They have cool solid white or solid black ones now...or a light box/table?

read: I ordered some 'find on the page' type books from Usborne. He loves looking through everything on the page and pointing stuff out.
Since his birthday is right after Christmas, he'll be getting a big boy bed upgrade from his floor mattress with new sheets. It is a lot of presents for just one part of the year!

Need - New Pottery Barn backpack (he'll get this a little early for our December trip).
Read - Attended a virtual Usborn book party in September, picked up a few books there. Plus found a cool Thomas book (with the original artwork - not the CGI stuff) at Half Priced Books a while back.

We've been buying gifts for DS1 over the past 2 months and hiding them in his closet - finally I am home when he is not and can go look and see what we already got
Want - A Dump Truck and the beginner train set from Ikea. Also stickers - he can never have enough stickers.
Wear - LL Bean toddler slippers - we already gave these to him and they are working out well!
Need - Toothbrush - I bought a couple recently at Target but apparently not for his age - they were up to 24 months and for over 4 years old so the search is on again. Also shoes - I am hoping Stride Rite has some good deals on Black Friday or Cyber Monday. DS1 will be 28 months around Christmas and is showing no interest or signs of readiness for potty training so shopping for undies is on hold for now.
Read - We bought several Usborn books at a fall festival recently. We asked the rep for recommendations for a boy who has a problem tearing out flaps and she recommended most of these.
