First of all, when will I learn NOT to comment on big stories on FB..??

Anywho, I came across this link today:

https://www.thedodo.com/dog-on-train-1168387756.html?utm_source=HuffPo&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=pubexchange

TLDR: This guy's dog (takes place in England I think) escaped the back yard and followed him on to the train one day while he was going to work. Turns out he was using the trampoline out back to launch himself over the fence.

I left the comment "Cute but...who leaves their dog outside all day while they're at work?"

I mean, because that just seemed like such a foreign concept to me! If he has to take a train into work, I'm guessing he's gone at least 8-10 hours. A lot could happen in that time! What if he barks all day and annoys the neighbors? What if someone steals him? What if, while trying to jump the fence his collar gets stuck and he hangs himself? (Morbid I know, but that very thing happened to my mom's dog when she was little.)

Anyway, people were jumping all over me for my comment! Like I was the crazy one. About how it's "just a dog" and not a kid, and how it's totally normal.

A lot of ppl were saying that it would be meaner to leave the dog inside the whole time. But then, wouldn't you get a dog walker or something? I dunno.

Is it just me? I'm not doubting the guy loves his dog and probably takes good care of him. He looked like a happy dog. But the whole outside all day thing just didn't sit well with me.
