I stopped pumping a few weeks ago and my stash is pretty much gone. But LO still isn't drinking much cow's milk at home or at daycare. He is nursing 3-4x a day on days he is at daycare. They said he has refused bottles of BM too when offered.
Any advice? Or pediatrician said he should be getting 24oz of milk total. I have no idea how much he is getting nursing, but he is only drinking a few oz from his sippy.

@jedeve: my LO is uninterested in non-nursing milk, but we have day weaned. He eats loads of cheese and yogurt, and spinach in yogurt etc. It doesn't worry me, I guess. He still nurses night/morning and drinks almond milk at meals but not much.

LO won't drink milk at all. We are about to try some Horizon Vitamin D milk to see how that goes and offer it every time at dinner instead of water for a few weeks and see if she won't end up liking it. She is 16 months though and so since about 12 months she has had maybe a few sips. He pediatrician wasn't concerned he just said to make sure she eats cheese, yogurt, and good fats.

@Bao: that's what we've been doing. But then I just go back to water because I hate wasting all that milk!

@jedeve: i feel like if he's still nursing 3-4 times a day when you're at work, you're good! R nurses 4-5 times a day and i'm with her all day! she gets no other milk

I wouldn't worry about it! My LO drinks maaaybe 1-2oz of cow's milk a day and nurses 2x a day. He drinks water throughout the day.

My 19 month old STILL won't drink cow's milk. We've tried everything and she just wants nothing to do with it. She also dislikes yogurt, cheese (unless it's in something like pizza or a grilled cheese sandwich), ice cream, and basically anything with calcium. We just add cheese to anything and everything we can and buy her cereals/snacks that are fortified with calcium. I will say though, monitoring her calcium intake is my greatest source of stress and worry right now!
Just keep offering and if he's drinking a little bit now, hopefully he'll eventually take to it! Good luck!

My 21 month old only started drinking wcm at 19 months. I day weaned her at 11 months and she refused formula or aaaaany kind of milk. She ate a lot if solids and had well balanced meals (plus growing at a good rate) that my ped wasn't concerned at all.
I wouldn't worry too much. He can calcium and vit d from other sources. Just keep offering it to him and eventually he will take it.

Man, I have the opposite problem. My LO weaned herself at 11 months and can't get enough cow's milk. I try hard to limit her to 24 oz, but she is always asking for more. She often wakes in the night and will only go back down after having milk. I guess the extremes are always a challenge!

My LO isn't a fan of milk that isn't from my boob but we went from her not taking any at all to her taking a few oz by watering it down lot then increasing the milk to water ratio as time went by. She still needs some water added to it but not much. I don't think she'll ever guzzle a cup of milk but she eats porridge, yoghurt and cheese so I'm not too worried.

Thanks for the responses! He eats cheese like its going out of style. I'll try to work fat, protein and calcium in his diet other ways and just figure if he's thirsty he'll drink.

I never thought I would do this but I started adding a little chocolate syrup to DS's milk b/c he normally wouldn't drink it. I made myself feel better by getting the organic expensive WF stuff but I only needed to add it a few times before he started to drink it. I've stopped adding it (and I only had to for a few weeks) and while he doesn't drink a ton of milk, he does drink it. Thankfully he also loves yogurt and cheese.

N can't have WCM but he won't drink his soy milk unless it is warmed up. N hates pretty much anything cold so warm soy milk or no dice. If it is warm he will drink 15 ounces at a time. He loves his soy milk. It also helps that it is a little sweet from the vanilla.

@MUI831: I tried chocolate powder and it wouldn't work! What ended up working was blending a piece of ripe banana with the milk.
