So...

My 2 year old was taking two bottles (morning and night) each day until 20 mos. She would also take a bottle before her nap on weekends. Its the only time I can get her to consistently drink milk.

At 20 months I dropped her morning bottle. It was easy - one morning I came in and she said "morning mama - baba" and I said "no baba"...the next day she said "morning mama...no babe" and that was that!

Shortly there after we just stopped the bottle before nap time. Again, no big deal.

Our pediatrician indicated he would like us to move towards dropping the bottle before bed for teeth and teeth brushing reasons. I agree its time to stop - but like most am afraid of rocking the boat for a good sleeper!

Friday night she only drank about 4 oz of her 7oz bottle. Then said "all done" - slept great. Saturday she drank maybe 3 oz total and then all done - slept great. Last night I barely got 2 oz down her before "all done". This tells me she is full enough I think.

What would you do?

1) Just cut it and dont offer tonight?
2) Cut it and replace with a fun cup of room temp milk while she "unwinds" downstairs with us (she will not drink milk with dinner).
3) Offer until she stops completely on her own?
