We were lucky enough to be gifted a ton of hand-me-down Carter's clothes for our baby. I was wondering, how old was your lo when he/she started wearing Carter's 3 month outfits and onesies?
I know all brands are different and all babies are different but I figured I'd ask anyways.

Lo is in the 95th percentile for height and weight, so she was in 3 month clothes early. Probably around a month old.

My LO is a little peanut! I think he'll built like me when I was little, tall and skinny! So he was 8-10 weeks when he for in most/all his 0-3 mos. And still in some nb clothes. 11 lbs is when he fit into them, he was 7 1.4 when he was born.

LO wore Carter's 3-months onesies from age 3month to 4.5months.

LO wore Carter's 3 month clothes from birth until 3.5-4 months. Their clothes run a little smaller than other brands though. I can't remember the lbs for each size but it's printed on the tags and I'm sure you can find it on the carter's website.
3 = 0-3 months; 6 = 3-6 months; 9 = 6-9 months; etc

The sizing was pretty accurate for us. Olive is wearing 6 month and 9 month Carter's clothes now, and she's 7 months old.

Around 1 month old! I started buying 9 month and 12 month onesies for her when she was around 3-4 months old.

@ mediagirl Same as Mrs. Bee. Jumper was in size 3 months around 6 weeks until she was close to 4 months old.

Wow, and we have not bought any NB clothes (not that we're in a rush, only halfway through) just in case our LO doesn't even fit, guess we'll probably get a couple of things. Thanks for this post, very helpful!

Yes, like @Sweet T says, the sizes on Carter's clothes are actually usually the upper limit. They definitely seem to run a bit smaller.

I've had LO in her Carters 3-month outfits since she was around 2-3 weeks old. She's very tall, but not very heavy, so the fit is a little funny. Because she's so tall, she outgrew her newborn-sized clothes very quickly in length... but the 3-month clothes are still very loose on her body since she's only maybe 9 or 10 lbs right now.

Carter's clothing tends to run small for us as well do we'll always wearing the next size up.

I find Carter's runs small, so LO was in their 3 month stuff right away, for sure by the time he was a month old.

I want to say LO moved into 0-3 at around 2 1/2-3 weeks old. She's 5 weeks old and already outgrowing the 0-3 sleepers lengthwise. My baby girl is going to be an Amazon!

Thanks for the info. Seems like it just depends on how big the baby is but they don't fit a newborn that first week.

My DD (regardless of brand) started wearing a size when she was at the upper limit; started wearing 3-6m at 6m. She is very thin and tall and has been her whole life. Not typical I know but she is very healthy and gets it from her father.

Baby X was in Carter's 3 month onesies around 6 weeks. But here's the thing, (and this is more pronounced when he's wearing a cloth diaper, but this applies even in thinner disposables), Baby X has a long, wide torso, and short legs. So for Carter's especially, he fits in the pajamas for a long time, pants for a long time, and for tops and onesies he fits and then grows out of them on the early side or right on target.

@mediagirl: My son is a little peanut. I only bought two newborn sleepers thinking he'd outgrow them the first couple weeks. And the first couple weeks he was mostly just wrapped in blankets or laying on my chest anyway. But turns out that he was in newborn until just recently (and some still fit!) and he's 10 weeks old, 12 lbs. I was so surprised. I wish I had bought a few more NB outfits. But I know this isn't the case for everyone. If your baby is 9lbs, more than likely the baby will be fitting into 0-3 mos right away.

Carter's 3 months clothes means it should fit 0-3 months. We brought baby Stroller home from the hospital in 3mos clothes, because I didn't buy anything newborn. Everyone told me he'd grow out of them in no time. He ended up being in NB for 8w and is still wearing some 3m now at nearly 5 mos. He's a bit of a peanut though
