oh and also, a sudden strike is not self weaning. Weaning happens gradually and slowly. A sudden stop like this is definitely a strike, so keep at it, but dont try to FORCE the boob

@regberadaisy: It sounds like a strike to me. Liv would latch on and then pop off and SCREAM and push me away. It killed me. I cried because I thought she didnt want me anymore. But I kept at it, tried different positions, and would leave my boob hanging out randomly in the house while we played in case she wandered by (at the 6 month strike) and decided she wanted it. Try the bath, and just keep offering it up. Its probably a combination of strike and 4 month sleep regression. A lot happens around that time that throws everything off =o)

@regberadaisy: I hope it's just a strike for you! My LO did the same thing around that time. She's about to be 8 months and she won't nurse, except at night, but since we cut out the night feedings, that means she doesn't nurse at all. Strangely though, after her last nap yesterday, she actually wanted to nurse, but only in a sitting up position. So maybe you can try that?

I hope everything has been working out for you now. My DD is 3 months and she is showing signs of a a strike as well. I am anxious before every feed and cry when she pulls off screaming. It is very frustrating. Im very tempted to pump and give her a bottle throughout the day and nurse during the night when she seems to feed a lot better. I dont mean to hijack your thread but Im at my wits end with this!!

@regberadaisy: Gabriel was doing this the past week. He will eat fine at night and scream during all day feedings--but he was 4 months to now (4 months + 1 week).
I don't have bottles so he basically hasn't been eating during the day.

Everyone swears he is teething (he even has funny scrapes on his cheeks from trying so hard to force his hands into his mouth and some fingers don't make it in. He gets about 7-8 fingers in....

Anyway. Is it getting better? I don't have answers but I do have the same question!
