My niece is about 11, and my mom said she's really starting to open up and talk to her a lot more on a more grown up level.

She's learning about early American history. Last week she was complaining that they only read about men. Hah!

Does anyone have any suggestions for books geared toward 5th-6th graders (she reads chapter books) about women in history, or really just historical women at all (doesn't have to be early America)?

Biographies would be great, but even historical fiction would be ok. Series would be even better!

Thanks!
