@Torchwood: honestly, I had never heard of
Testing early until I joined HB.

@Torchwood: I have spared my husband the dates since he would surely think I was crazy, the upshot for me is that since my luteal phase is shortish I can just tell him the box says 6 days before you miss your period and mine is due tomorrow (and meanwhile only be 10 dpo). The idea of 1 test is laughable to me too! The one time he called me out on testing like a nutcase I pointed out that knowing earlier meant I could avoid foods on the no list and alcohol because for whatever reason that is something he is crazy paranoid about it. I think your plan is totally reasonable, do you chart? I was using high temps as way to rationalize testing.

@Keppa: That stinks, do you have a link to your chart? Did you use opks?

@Cole - here's a link to my chart. I've been using opks and haven't gotten a positive yet unfortunately. I've gotten lines every time I've used them - but I've never had one be the same darkness as the control line.

@Keppa: Are you temping at the same time every morning? I know that can make a difference for some people. It's gonna sound a little crazy but I make sure I temp on the same side of my mouth every day and I try to move as little as possible.

@Kate6214: I try to, but I'm still BFing my son in the middle of the night and he's pretty unpredictable about when he eats haha. Sometimes I'm up at 4am to feed him, while other times I'm able to get to sleep until about 6am before I have to get up. There aren't any set times for me, unfortunately

@littlek: While I did find HB before we started ttc, I was already well aware of how early one could test. I am part of the reasn why tests offer the option of 6 days early now.

@Cole: That's handy! I could argue the eating healthier thing too, but I don't drink and don't eat many foods on the no eat list anyway. Too bad. Maybe for the sake of going out for sushi...

Also, just flossed/brushed and my gums bleed like crazy. Granted, I've been out of floss for a week, so I expected a little sensitivity, but I've definitely gone a week before without having a ton of bleeding when I flossed again. So gonna go with tentatively a good sign! Getting impatient for time to test!

@Keppa: I found it too hard to temp having a toddler. My little man STTN but I don't anymore.. :). I'm sorry you are having a stressful cycle.

Any updates??? I was up all last night with stomach bug.. Need some good news!

@Keppa: Well that is definitely confusing! It is remarkable how sometimes things work so well and other times... It is just a mystery. Fingers crossed it becomes obvious soon!

@Torchwood: That seems positive! Who would have ever thought things like bleeding gums would be exciting?

@littlek: Oh no! I am sorry to hear you were sick, I hope you feel better soon. Are you going to test soon?

I'm 9 or 10 pdo today and nothing is showing up on tests. I was really hoping I'd see something today since my husband is coming back from a 10 day work trip and it was his birthday yesterday, but nope. Trying not to lose all hope and FX I'll get the BFP in the next few days.

Hugs to all those who didn't get their BFP this month and congrats to those who did!

@mrs. tictactoe: I'm sorry Still early though....

I"m still hanging strong at 12 DPO and no testing. I've luckily had enough going on were I haven't really been thinking about it.

@mrs. tictactoe: I'm 10dpo today too! I haven't tested yet, but don't notice any signs of being pregnant. I think your hubs will still consider a BFP a gift since you would be, in fact, pregnant on his birthday. FX hard/tight for you!

  20. Littlebit

    nectarine / 2932 posts

@littlek: look at you and your willpower! I'm hoping to not test until 12dpo next month (I usually test at 10dpo)...I'm already getting antsy just thinking about it!

@MrsMcD: when are you testing? Crossing my fingers for you, @mrs. tictactoe:, and @littleK:!

@littlek: You are awesome for waiting past 12dpo!

@Littlebit: In the last handful of months that I have POAS, I've done so at 10dpo with the exception of one time, when I did it at 9dpo. I get so antsy! I will hold out until at least 12dpo (wednesay) by default this time around. If not Wednesday, then Friday since I would be too excited to contain my secret during Thanksgiving... assuming (very optimistically) that I will get a BFP.

    GOLD / squash / 13576 posts

@MrsMcD: my goal is to make it to this Saturday.. If so, when I test my period will be officially late... I'd rather see
    AF than a BFN.

@littlek: I'm scheduled to POAS on saturday, too. Maybe I will just wait until that day as well. You are a good influence on me!

  25. littlek

    GOLD / squash / 13576 posts

    @MrsMcD: I also don't think it's my month, so
That helps keeping me from testing.

@littlek: Oh no.... Is there anything specific that makes you feel that way? I sort of feel that way, too. I've already started to look into buying a horse which is my no-baby consolation prize.

I'm officially a roll over - I'm spotting so AF will be here any minute.

Good luck to the rest of the ladies this month!!!

@MrsMcD: nothing in particular.. I wasn't thrilled with our amount of BD.. We also didn't use preseed of the JHo position..

@littlek: Keep your head up, friend! Neither of those things are required to get a BFP!!!

@sandy: So sorry to hear you are spotting. But rolling over into "magical December" isn't entirely horrible!

So tomorrow I will be 12 DPO, and even though I was hoping to hold out til Thursday, I feel like I might test. I have been a bitch on wheels for the past couple days, and I am hoping it's a sign of pregnancy so that a BFP can sub as an apology to my husband.

I am gross and bloated, but that could be PMS, so who knows. I almost tested this morning, but just rushed and peed when I woke up so I could justify not testing early with no availability of FMU so early. Don't think I can handle doing that again tomorrow, especially since it's just a cheapie. I dunno...

  34. deactivated_account

    GOLD / pomegranate / 3938 posts

@Mrs. Confetti: 12dpo is a fair time to test. How long is your LP normally? Hold out longer if you can! But you have good support here no matter what you do.

    @Kate6214: Thanks, lady!

  36. Kate6214

@Mrs. Confetti: I think 12DPO is not too early either

  37. Cole

    grapefruit / 4649 posts

@Mrs. Confetti: From what I have read most people get a positive by 12 or 13 dpo if it is going to be positive so I vote test away!

@MrsMcD: That's a serious consolation prize! I would almost hope this month is negative and that next month is the bfp!

@sandy: Sorry this month wasn't it, come join us in magical December.

  38. deactivated_account

    GOLD / pomegranate / 3938 posts

@Cole: oh gosh, no... I totally didn't say that right. If I can't EVER have a baby, then I will get a horse! Not if I don't get a bfp this month. Bahahahaha. Shoot. If hide a pregnancy if I could get a horse!!

  39. Mrs. Confetti

    blogger / pomegranate / 3491 posts

@MrsMcD: @Kate6214: @Cole: Thanks for the encouragement. I haven't been charting, and this was my first month with OPKs and my cycles have no predictable length, so I honestly don't know if I am too early or not. I guess I will find out soon enough

  40. Mrs. Oyster

    blogger / apricot / 427 posts

SO random - but I tested with an opk this morning and got a positive??!! I'm now on CD22 and I guess waiting to O late? I'm hoping I actually O, and this isn't just a throw away cycle. Either way, kind of exciting!
Now it's off to BD for the next few days, or until the opks dim again, I guess.
