@T.H.O.U.: I will admit I am kind of confused by this as well, but here is what I know. My left Fallopian tube is completely blocked. I think it is technically possible to get pregnant during a cycle when I O from my left ovary (eggs can migrate, and this *did* happen to someone from my BMB on the Bump), but my doctor said that that is rare and extremely unlikely. So I try not to get too excited during those months. And, honestly, I have no clue how an egg would get out of one ovary and into the opposite tube.

@dc yoga bee: If I were you I would BD just ooooone more time to be sure. But I totally get if you don't want to. I think you covered your bases pretty well. Yay for the smiley going away!
@septca: Here's to a new month of possibilities! And drinking! YAY!!!
@littlek: I definitely think Wondfo is faulty. Not sure if it's recent or what is going on, but I haven't gotten any OPK's this round, when I *have* had them in the past. I switched to Babi brand which seems to have more definitive results. I'll be using them next cycle and will post pictures of the results!

@septca: *puts on nurse's cap... that hasn't been worn since graduation* Well, since the ovaries are not actually connected to the fallopian tubes and the fimbriae use their "sweeping" action to get the egg into the tube, it is *possible* for the egg to ovulate on the blocked side and somehow get carried over to the unblocked side, to be swept into the fallopian tube by those fimbriae. It is extremely rare, though. Like, go play the lotto and win before this happens, rare. That being said, your good ovary may be able to compensate for your bad ovary by ovulating more frequently. Also rare, but not as much so. I remember when the OB-GYN was explaining this to me during clinicals while a woman was getting a c-section. She was actually one of those cases where they believe the egg transfered from a blocked tube to a patent one and he was pulling up her fibriae and uterus and showing me everything and explaining how it all worked, especially in this fascinating case. The woman was totally into it too, she was just happy to be the lucky lady who this happened with. Plus the doc kept saying "Look at those GORGEOUS fimbriae! No wonder they were able to draw that egg over!" He was totally hamming it up, but he was a great doctor and teacher

@septca: Well hopefully you can get it unclogged and double your odds soon.
I have no idea how to determine what side I'm ovulating from (I guess I would need an ultrasound to show that?) but I was told I shouldn't worry about the every other month issue.

@Mrs.Panda: FANTASTIC!!!! You just completely made my day because this is something I always wonder about. The way you explain it makes perfect sense, so thank you! Because my blockage is caused my endometriosis scar tissue and isn't in the ovary, my left ovary apparently does not know there is something wrong with my left tube. I O like clockwork left-right-left-right, always on CD 17 or 18.
@T.H.O.U.: Thanks, but, yeah, isn't never going to get unblocked. The scar tissue has been there since I was a teenager and, according to my doctor, is "like concrete in there." We got super lucky and caught the growth in my right tube while it was still new and soft enough to be flushed out. I go in for a repeat HSG on the 30th to "clear out the cobwebs" on the right so that we can have the best chance possible to conceive quickly. (There don't appear to be any other problems - I conceived DD our first "right side" cycle after my doctor cleared my tube.) I am not a good candidate for clearing tubes - my doctor has me on the IVF path if we aren't lucky within 6 months (which is - *annoyingly* - only 3 cycles). Under pressure! (Cue 80s theme music...)
Also - the only reason I know which side I O from* is because of my endo scar tissue. Each cycle when my ovary produces eggs, it swells and disrupts the endo, which causes me a lot of pain. The only benefit of the pain is that I know which side O is happening on...

So I think this may have been mentioned before, but I just realized that we had an IUI today and it's Friday the 13! My husband keeps joking that we're cursed now which makes me want to punch him in the kidney a little bit. I'm not sure he's gotten how much this TTC stuff is so not a joking matter to women!

@however briefly: yay on the IUI, I say lucky number 13
I'm hoping to trigger tomorrow for an IUI on Monday (may push back a few days, but hoping my follicle(s) will be ready at the scan tomorrow!)

Just hanging out here on CD13, waiting for opks to turn +.
I'm already having a lot of watery CM, but last month I didn't get my + opk until CD22 (ugh) so who knows? My LP last month was also only about 3-4 days long unfortunately - so I'm not sure what that means for me

@bhbee: Good luck! I hope they're ready tomorrow so you can trigger!

@Keppa: was that just an off cycle for you or is your lp usually 3-4 days?

@Mrs.Panda: I'll bd one.more.time since you insist
ETS: It will be a bd sprinkle!

Aaaannnndddd AF just arrived. At 11DPO. WTF? I have never had a less than 14 day LP. This is the oddest cycle ever.
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@septca: I really wonder if you didn't have a chemical pregnancy. Have you thought about that as a possibility? I have heard (in SMEP) that if your body does have implant ion but realizes its not viable it will go ahead and release it (aka causing period to come early in LP).

Gah I'm too tired for even a bd sprinkle! Working 12hrs makes me just want to go to bed with no dinner, hellos to DH, etc. let alone bd!
nectarine / 2358 posts
@dc yoga bee: hahaha I think you're okay with no sprinkle, even if I did insist
@septca: Dang you AF, but at least you can start over on the good side.

@however briefly: lucky 13!!! I totally understand how you feel though because I can be so superstitious despite myself and u hate when my husband toys with fate when it is something important to me. Good luck with your IUI!!!
