How long did it take for your LO to not cry???? And did they go up and down every night as far as time?
H fell asleep in less than 1 min the past 2 nights. Toniggt she cried for 13, which after 2 nights of 1 minute, was TORTUROUS!
My husband is coming home tonight but his flight is delayed. I had been looking forward to someone IRL to shoulder this horrific burden of a task. But airports dont care.
Mother F. This is the most stressful thing I can really remember doing in a loooooong time.

At her age, I don't think it should be like this.
The first time, he cried less than 15m at bedtime. It gets less and less everyday. Bedtimes at this point involves zero crying. He goes down ery calm and tired, but not over tired.
You HAVE to stick it out no matter how bad it is.
You will see results soon, but you have to follow the method and not cheat.
As far as naps go, he cries sometimes *still* after being trained for last 7m. But, the majority of the time, he doesn't cry at all.
How long is she staying up between naps? Esom can't handle any more than 1.5h.
I know some parents will do 2,3,4...but in our situation, that would be HELL and he would not be able to sleep after that at all. He'd be wired and wild. It blows my mind that an infant would be able to stay up 4h at a time without losing all sanity.
E is 9m old.

I hope it works out quickly for you! Olivia just never responded to CIO, and her sleep still sucks. But she's stubborn as all get out.

@TurtleDoves: wellll, I think she's transitioning from 3 naps to 2, bc some days she will drop that last 330ish nap...Today, her naps were a mess due to her first nap getting screwed up and she woke up at 2:45 and did not have another nap. Not cranky. Not a monster. Giggles and happy and grabbing my head for open mouth kisses. I put her down at 7. But she's had a similar schedule (like yesterday) and she went down fine. All in all today, she slept about 90 minutes in naps.
Maybe that's it. I am not ready to nap train after a week of doing this by myself. Idk if when DH gets here it will be attainable, but right this second I really cant imagine doing anymore sleep training of any kind. This has aged me. Taken years off my life.

@TurtleDoves: Fwiw, I dont cheat at night. But I still nurse to sleep during day/naps bc I thought you dont do both @ same time. Also would have lost all sanity and mental stability.

@PrincessBaby: Just offering more support! I can't imagine trying to work on sleep stuff alone 
(and yay that your DH will be home soon!). We're on two naps and he usually wakes from his last one somewhere between 2 & 2:45 and he is always a happy little guy until bed time around 6:30! He simply doesn't sleep if I tried for a third nap.. so I gave up

@scg00387: Thank you! I wondered today if I should move her bedtime up but she was sunshine & smiles and I nursed her at 6 and she popped off and went to go play with something she saw and needed to get to. And yesterday this schedule was fine so I just went with it. DH needs to get. It. Home.

@PrincessBaby: haha, C is def a drama baby too. Feel free to message me whenever. Sleep training is stressful. We're maybe, fingers crossed, getting over the current rough patch from her getting molars.
I want to say that C took a solid week the first time we trained, maybe 2. I dont think it was ever a situation of her going to sleep without a peep every night. Most nights she doesnt cry or lightly cries/grumps for a couple minutes but there are nights where she hasnt napped enough or she has napped too close to bedtime, etc and she gets pissy and throws a tantrum. Its hard but every time we give in and go up, I feel like it just prolongs the misery for all of us.

I sleep trained my LO at 4 months and she is now 14 months old. Unfortunately, she still kicks up a fuss sometimes at bedtime. In fact, for the past week, seemingly out of nowhere, she has cried for like, 20 minutes before sleeping and I agree - it's torturous. But usually it's not more than 5 minutes, which I can live with.

@PrincessBaby: I think it probably was her crappy naps today that caused her to fight it harder tonight I think at that age she needs about 3 hours of naptime sleep during the day... If I remember right.
I just looked at my sleep training record I kept and it looks like night 3 E didn't cry but then he did again nights 4 and 5. Night 6 he didn't cry and he did well from then on, excluding off nights where he's been extra teething fussy, overtired, etc

11 nights, then 3 nights of no crying, but tonight we had 12 mins of crying cause I think she was so over tired.

@PrincessBaby: I don't blame you; maybe you need. Mental break and a shoulder to lean on from dh this week! By the way: we nap trained at same time because his naps would directly interfere with bedtime mood.

Each night should get easier. We did both nap and night at the same time. The first day SUCKS but within 3 days he was falling asleep within 5 minutes of being in his crib. Good luck!

We did nap train at the same time just to keep things consistent. I hope your DH gets home soon and that gives you some extra strength! Again - I'm so impressed that you've been working on this alone.

My LO is now nearly 11 months and we sleep trained at 4.5 months. She *still* puts up a fuss nearly every night. She wails for anywhere between 5 and 30 seconds before calming down and falling asleep. Occasionally she will cry for 10 min or more.
I wonder if I'm doing something wrong since she still puts up a fight?

Thanks, you guys! DH got home for a few hours now and she didnt wake up. Even while her mama was being a total slore with daddy, lol(blushes)...I hope tomorrow brings less drama!!!

We sleep trained at 11ish months, and now at 15ish months she still cries everynight, some longer than others. We are nap training now, so we are in the thick of it with you. So stressful...i hate the crying so much.
