@Charm54: Congratulations!
@NovBaby1112: @Chaosmaven: Thanks for posting your charts! Compared to yours, mine looks crazy and all over the place (though less crazy than it used to). I'm thinking about switching to vaginal temping next cycle. Do you mind my asking if you temp orally or vaginally?
blogger / pear / 1509 posts
@lady baltimore: you didn't ask me, but I saw your comment about temping. I've been charting for about 9 months now, and always took my temp orally for the first 8 months. I wasn't great about timing, but always took it after good sleep and usually within an hour or so of the average time. My temps were ALL over the place the whole time. Fertility friend saw a temp shift on most months, but barely. I had a lot of ups and downs through the whole cycle. This cycle I've been temping vaginally because I wanted to be sure I'm ovulating and actually getting that shift. My temps are SO much more stable. The biggest difference is .3 degrees, instead of varying by close to a whole degree from day to day. I just got my positive opk this morning, so haven't seen the shift yet, but I have no doubt it will be much more obvious doing it this way. It's a pain, but I sleep with my mouth open sometimes and I think that was really affecting my oral temps. My vaginal temps are significantly higher overall, and I think that must be why.

@NovBaby1112: I'm kind of the opinion that there is no such thing as "too early" pregnancy symptoms! With my pregnancy back in Sept, I felt VERY dizzy and lightheaded at 4DPO. like nothing I ever felt before! I am a teacher and I had to actually pause my lesson and sit down.

@2farmmoms: Thanks for the input! My recent charts show a general trend of elevated temps during the second half of my cycle, but there are still sharp jags (almost a full degree) up and down from day-to-day. If I'm not pregnant in February, I think I'm going to try vaginal temping to see if it's more consistent.

@lady baltimore: I temp orally and did that last time too when we were ttc #1...I haven't had too many issues with it, but I did hear temping vaginally is more accurate
@DesertDreams88: interesting! I guess we will see!

@lady baltimore: I second temping vaginally, it really made my charts clearer when I switched

Looks like I'm out this month. Fx to those waiting to test

Got my positive OPK this am. Inseminations Friday, Sunday and today, and probably one more tomorrow evening. I'm really hopeful about this month. Doubling the number of AI's has to help, right?! I'm getting sick of laying in bed with my hips on pillows, so it better help!

You guys, I am symptom spotting like a crazy person. This is basically my internal monologue: "Weird dreams, I must be pregnant! Oh wait, no pinchy feeling, I can't possibly be pregnant. I'm feeling sort of queasy, definitely pregnant!! But then again, I slept fine last night, so there is absolutely no way I'm pregnant."
I thought it'd be better since this is my second baby (third pregnancy with a CP before my daughter). But it's actually worse because I keep trying to remember how I felt that time. I'm only 4 dpo so this is going to be a long wait!
@DesertDreams88: Your post is just encouraging me to keep symptom spotting, haha

@My Only Sunshine: I'm in the same boat and I'm driving myself CRAZY. I'm 7 dpo today and I seriously considered testing. I'm losing it.
squash / 13764 posts
@My Only Sunshine: yep I totally was like that last month. I kept trying to remember what it was like with Lo, but I had like no symptoms with him!
I'm so annoyed, my bbt has given me the same temp for 4 days in a row makes me think it's broken. I also am cd 13 and haven't gotten a positive opk yet...it was usually day 12 or 13 per m/c and my one cycle post m/c. So now I'm worried that things are just still messed up and there's no way this month could work...sigh.

@hilsy85: so frustrating! Do you usually get any symptoms around ovulation?
grapefruit / 4066 posts
@2farmmoms: nice! Goodluck!! Sounds like great timing!
@My Only Sunshine: @jodyblair: add me to the crazy train. Im also symptom spotting like a mad woman and googling everything. I've been having some symptoms really similar to my cp last month but at the same time it could all just be a coincidence. Anyways- goodluck to us all and hopefully we aren't just crazy!
@hilsy85: that's frustrating! Maybe try a new thermometer? How many times per day are you doing the opks? I would just keep BDing EOD and hope it comes soon! But I know that must be frustrating and annoying!

@My Only Sunshine: @NovBaby1112: Totally crazy over here, 7 dpo and I DID test... because I am nuts. And it was BFN. So use me as a guide... don't do it! My temps are still high, which compared to the last 5 months is actually a change, so either the b vitamins are making a drastic difference in my progesterone, or I'm pregnant and don't know it. Or just crazy...
@hilsy85: Hmm, I had a cycle right after m/c that was like that, with temps very consistent for 4-5 days pre o. Are you still taking the B Complex? Could that be delaying O?
squash / 13764 posts
@jodyblair: yup I usually get ewcm and cramps around o day, and I haven't had either of those yet...@NovBaby1112: definitely need a new thermometer for next month! I use the clear blue smiley OPKs, so I use them with fmu.
squash / 13764 posts
@Chaosmaven: I actually stopped this month...was planning on maybe taking it after o. Could it be leftover effects from me taking it last month?
apricot / 315 posts
@hilsy85: I don't know much about it, but I don't think so? I would think it would be out of your system by now. Hope you see some signs of O soon!

I have a question since I'm fairly new at this (LO was conceived while just not preventing so I've never TTC before). I've had cramping since this morning around 4am. I believe I'm 2dpo so what could this mean? Am I ovulating later than I thought? I had some cramping Sunday and yesterday but it's a little more today. Is this a good sign? Leftover cramping from ovulation? Does it mean absolutely nothing? I'm going crazy thinking about every little thing!

@jodyblair: @NovBaby1112: @Chaosmaven: Glad I'm not the only one on the crazy train. Hoping we all have good luck!
@BelugaBean: This is exactly what I was talking about! It could be a good sign things are happening, could be late ovulation, could be nothing at all. The two week wait is so rough! At least you're in good company with the rest of us crazy ladies
pomegranate / 3516 posts
@hilsy85: No, I was going to wait a month or two to start that if things seem off. My cycles have been following a pretty normal 28 day schedule for a while and LO was conceived pretty much on day 14 of that cycle so we were seeing where that gets us again, with just a few adjustments.

@Chaosmaven: I just realized I was still TBD on the list. Got a bfp this weekend!
Good luck everyone !!!pulling for you knowing many will be POAS soon!!
honeydew / 7235 posts
@BelugaBean: I often cramp off & on after O which is weird. I have definite cramps right around O for sure but still get them of & on
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
@hilsy85: just lurking friend, the cycle right after CP I O'ed on the same day as the previous three months. The 2nd cycle after CP (our BFP cycle) I o'ed five days later.

@hellobeeboston: Congratulations!
Ladies, I'm seriously questioning my O date (and my sanity). I never got a true positive OPK even though I had EWCM and lots of ovulation pain. For the last 5 days or so I've had tons of EWCM and my cervix has been pretty soft and between medium and high. What. The. Hell. OPKs are still negative. I dk what is going on! I'm getting so frustrated.
apricot / 315 posts
@jodyblair: I've heard that a high soft closed cervix can be a sign of pregnancy? It could also be an estrogen surge. With negative OPKs, you're probably past O, but without temping it's hard to be sure.
squash / 13764 posts
@mrsjyw: thanks friend. That at least gives me comfort that a weird cycle isn't a sign that in completely messed up! Was the later O date more in line with what you were at pre-lo1? @hellobeeboston: ahh congrats!!!
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
@hilsy85: The two sticky BFP cycles (A and this pregnancy) were both random late O days, and our BD schedule was CRAZY. Like unnecessary crazy. This go of TTC #2, I was Oing typically CD18, didn't O until CD23 with this pregnancy! With A, I O'ed on CD26!
squash / 13764 posts
@mrsjyw: sigh I doibt we'll be able to do a crazy bd schedule...dh has a few things going on this week. I guess I will have to just do eod if possible and hope it happens in the next few days.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
@hilsy85: yea we just did EOD! then ED around + opks. It was "crazy" because we started expecting my O to be earlier than what it ended up being! So I still wholeheartedly believe in the EOD method!

@Honeygold89: I'm just getting caught up, and am so sorry to see your news. Take care of yourself. <<hugs>>

@hilsy85: fyi, this cycle we only bd day of solid smiley and 2 days after. Terrible timing and we were a little sick! Still totally possible!! Good luck!!!

I can't test until the end of the month, but I just added a pack of pregnancy tests to my Amazon order. I'm starting to get excited! This is the first month we are really TTC (last month we were NTNP, and I knew we didn't BD around O, so I never thought about testing). I'm thinking about doing the No Rush shipping option instead of 2-day shipping with Prime- that way I won't be tempted to use them too early. How many DPO do you usually POAS?
honeydew / 7235 posts
@hilsy85: I hope so too! And I only say it because it took us 8 months with J and we have been off & on trying for 6ish months this time too.
grapefruit / 4361 posts
@Chaosmaven: Please take me off the POAS list, I am CD 28 (!!) and still haven't ovulated (!!!). I guess my high temps were due to sickness / fighting sickness We have been BD almost EOD for 3 weeks and DH is just plain tired of it, and stress is... "interfering."
I'm honestly VERY annoyed, I've had only 4 cycles since July, three with delayed O due to stress, miscarriage, or both. Only September was "normal," and we lost that one
persimmon / 1436 posts
I am also wondering when people POAS. I'm currently 3DPO (confirmed by temping--I O'ed on CD17 after my first ever positive OPK) but Fertility Friend is suggesting I wait until 18DPO to test. My last cycles (first three off BC) have been--in order-- 40, 20, and 10 days long between periods. This is my first time charting and temping though so I feel like I have a better idea what's going on in my body. So, what do you think?
