@hellobeeboston: thanks...this is month 7 for us, but I guess only technically month 5 where we have been able to try. It seems like it's been such a long time, especially since LO1 only took 4 months.
@cranberry: I usually try to hold out til 12dpo...but it really just depends on your personality. Some people like POAS as soon as possible, others find it depressing if it's a negative. @DesertDreams88: so sorry that is so frustrating.

@DesertDreams88: I'm sorry, that sucks We had some cycles in the fall that had "interference" issues and it really is frustrating to be on all the time. Hopefully you will feel better soon, and things will get back to something closer to normal!

@Finfan: Some crazy people (like me) say they will hold out and then cave on 7 dpo which is way way too early for most people. But I think most wait until at least 10 dpo? There was a note/tip on Fertility Friend that showed that a study of charts and positive tests saw that most people see a bfp by 12 dpo. FF use to suggest 18 dpo to me too, it took 4-6 cycles tracked with ovulation before it started really confirming my luteal phase, and now it has me testing at 13 dpo.

@lady baltimore: I temp orally, never tried vaginally. They used to be more erratic for me, but now that I have gotten better at getting up at the same time everyday, its gotten more consistent. For me, it took a while to get used to getting up and remembering to do it before moving or anything.

Sorry to just randomly comment. Didn't wanna start a thread and figured you guys could answer. I have a friend ttc. For temping is there a specific thermometer you need?
pomegranate / 3192 posts
@littleblessings: a basal body thermometer is recommended since it measures to 2 decimal places.

I'm 11 dpo today and took a test just out of curiosity. After our RE appointment where we discovered something interesting on the ultrasound (possible septum or bicornuate uterus), I was honestly waiting for AF so I could get on with it and go for more tests.
Today is our two year wedding anniversary.
Cautiously optimistic (but I realize it's early and if I truly do have a uterine abnormality, that puts me in the high risk category)!

@DesertDreams88: I'm so sorry hoping you get back on track shortly!
@MrsDoo: wow congrats!!!
For people asking when to test- Its really up to you...I find if I test too early I get bummed even though I know it's stillearly, but I like to torture myself for some reason, so I keep doing it generally though, I think by 12-13dpo is when you willprib get accurate results.
So I'm feeling kinda bummed, I forgot to take my bcomplex yesterday and my "symptoms" totally disappeared. No vivid dreams, no more pinching, no tingly breasts. And my temp went down a bit this morning too. I know it's still early (9dpo) but just feeling not good anymore about this month. We'll see though

Thanks, ladies! I confirmed it this morning with a digital. Nothing better than seeing "pregnant" pop up on the screen!!!
I won't worry about the future, I can only be positive about today. And today, I am pregnant!

hi everyone. i have totally been MIA and have not read the updates, but excited to see the new BFPS since i last posted.
I just got excited this morning as i got a positive OPK on CD18! AF is not expected for 12 days and often comes up to 2 days after what my app predicts,,,,which means i might have a normal length LP this month! Last month i got a positive OPK on CD21 and my LP was like 10 days or less (i was not sure when I ovulated). And i thought it might be because i was still breastfeeding my toddler....well i have successfully weaned him! The last time we nursed was one week ago and before that we had a stretch of almost a week with no nursing. I have even done bedtime twice without nursing (he asks, but i managed to distract), otherwise DH has been doing bedtime to help me wean. I just thought my cycle would not go back to normal until next month and was not expecting a positive OPK until this weekend, so i am pleasantly surprised right now!

@MrsDoo: congratulations!!!!
@wheres_c: sorry to hear about the disc, but yay for the green light to TTC

@californiadreams: Glad weaning is going well for you!! I'm sure that will start to make a difference on TTC.
I'm on CD15 and thinking I will probably O on Friday. Hope DH is ready for some busy BDing ahead coming up in the next few days.

@californiadreams: yay for positive opk! Glad weaning is going well and hoping it makes a difference!
Soooo after I posted my long rant this morning I just decided to POAS for the hell of it and got a faint line...still super early so not getting my hopes up yet and will test tomorrow w FRER...do you guys see a line?
squash / 13764 posts
@NovBaby1112: I see something that might be a line or might be the indent! I'm excited for you though--definitely test tomorrow!!
@californiadreams: yay for a positive OPK!
@MrsDoo: congrats!
@wheres_c: sorry about the back issues! What can you do for a herniated disc?
grapefruit / 4066 posts
@hilsy85: oh man I hope it's not an indent! It has some color In person and it showed up within the timeframe so I'm hoping not, but who knows...
squash / 13764 posts
@NovBaby1112: if it has color then I don't think it can be an indent? Either way, test tomorrow! Hopefully it will be more obvious
squash / 13764 posts
@NovBaby1112: ETA looking at it again in better light and I definitely see a line!!

@NovBaby1112: 9 DPO on a wondfo! That's awesome! I see a line!
pomegranate / 3411 posts
@NovBaby1112: I think i see it, not sure if i am looking at the correct place.
I have a general question - once you get the OPK, i know you are supposed to O in 12-36 hours, does that mean since i got the positive at 10am this morning that it is possible i will miss my window is if we don't BD by 10pm tonight? I wish we started BDing last night but i was working late and we have all been sick with yet another cold LO has brought home from daycare. My plan is to BD tonight and the next 2 nights though.

@NovBaby1112: I'm so excited for you! Congratulations!
@californiadreams: Yay for a positive OPK! I would think BDing tonight wouldn't be too late, but I'm new to OPKs. Good luck!

@NovBaby1112: Also, seeing that you got a positive on 9 DPO is going to make it reeeeeally hard for me not to test

@NovBaby1112: Ah I see it! Yay! I will be 9 dpo tomorrow... I was going to wait until Fri, but not sure I can now
grapefruit / 4066 posts
Eeek thanks everyone! Still cautious bc it's so early still but we'll how tomorrow's test looks!
@californiadreams: Its hard to tell bc you don't know if you caught the beginning of your surge, which would give you around 24-36 hours, or if you caught the end of your surge, which would give you 12-24 hours. Did you test yesterday? Either way BD tonight and tomorrow!
@jodyblair: haha I have no self control! That's why I like the cheapies! Goodluck!!!
@My Only Sunshine: haha glad I wasn't just going crazy!
