We have one of these. It used to be called "winter weight" but I guess it's been renamed to dream blanket. DS has several a+a blankets of various kinds. Regular , target a+a, and dream styles. He doesn't seem to prefer any of them over another. They're all really nice (but target ones are thin so would not recommend). If you live in colder climate you may like the thicker dream style but the regular ones are really light for carrying around (what DS likes to do)

I really want one of these, and was hoping somebody would buy it off my registry, but they didn't. And now I can't justify spending $50 when we have four (not at beautiful) hand-me-down blankets already. So I'll be watching this hoping somebody can help me justify my A+A craving...

We have a dream blanket...we haven't used it at all yet. It's large and pretty thick--it seems like it would be a good stroller blanket or a blanket for when LO is older (like 1 or 2) to put over him. It's not good for swaddling or anything like that. IMO it's too big and thick to be a "blankie" like a lovey--I think their regular muslin blankets would be great for that though.

@scg00387: we have one and we love it! We use ours for tummy time or just playing on the floor in our living room. It's so soft. I think it would be a great first blanket in bed.

@scg00387: Each of my LO's has one. Clearly, DD isn't using hers yet, but I couldn't pass it up! They are really great, it was DS's first blanket in the crib, and he still sleeps with it in his big boy bed, in addition to a duvet. DS's is more than 2 years old and still really soft and in great shape. Oddly, I bought a different pattern for DD and it is quite a bit larger and even softer than DS's, but I don't think it's the bamboo one.

Would this be a good blanket for daycare??

@lawbee11: I don't know. But I am guessing just take home on Fridays to wash. I don't see other parents bringing a blanket back and forth each day.

@scg00387: I would use it in bed. The only thing is I don't find it super "cuddly"--like the fabric isn't really that smushable, if that makes sense. But maybe it's because we haven't used it a ton, so it hasn't softened up yet?

@hilsy85: yeah I think muslin tends to soften the more it's loved on!

Guess it's time to start hunting for a good deal on one!

We have a bamboo dream blanket on DS's bed (he is 16 months) and it is super soft!

@scg00387: I think the bamboo ones are definitely way softer than the muslin ones, I kind of wish we had gotten a bamboo one.

Right now D just uses a regular swaddle - I put it on him when I lay him in the crib, but within a few minutes he rolls over and snuggles with it. When he's fussy, if we hand it to him, he'll crumple it up and put it against his face or lay down on it.

@Smurfette: I think that $50 was worth it. We've had our blanket for some time now. It's held up well since we got it.

@Smurfette: I think so! DD uses hers at daycare and on the weekends for her naps.

I don't use them at night because it gets cold and she still uses a sleep sack. But i like the weight of the blanket (not great for summer, but good for fall/winter). Plus it's quite soft!

@lawbee11: I have given ideas to some who have asked. But no one in my family would spend that much on a blanket and would give me crap if they knew I did. I will just order it myself! I just won't tell DH.

We have one that's just a nice dark blue. I've started draping it over DS in his crib while he sleeps if it's cold out. It never stays on him as he's super roly poly but I like it.

I want one! We are having trouble figuring out what to put with him in his crib.
