Did you wear an abdominal binder after giving birth? How long did you wear it?
I had a C-section on Thursday and I started wearing it in Friday. I love the support but I get hot easily!

I haven't given birth (yet) BUT I just wanted to share this anecdote from Jessica Alba that I read last week. It sounds pretty uncomfortable, but you definitely can't deny she got results! That bikini photo of her seems pretty motivational to me http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/25/jessica-alba-girdle-post-baby-body_n_3156323.html

I wore mine more in the hospital but didn't wear it much once I got home, just on occasion. (I was in the hospital from a Thursday to a Monday.) It made me hot and super itchy!

I wore a belly bandit and it definitely helped flatten things out!

I wore it on and off for a few months....helped everything come back together nicely! I found it too uncomfortable to sleep in though.

I wore mine for maybe two weeksx maybe three. It was great but I did get annoyed so I ended up taking it off after that. It totally helped!

I loved wearing it for about 2 weeks, but I can't imagine wearing it for three months! That's dedication! She always looks amazing, though, so maybe there is something to that.

@autumnlove: Ooo good timing on this thread, I was about to ask whether you can wear an abdominal binder after a C-section. It didn't hurt to wear it right away? Did you get a belly bandit or a different one? Sorry, lots of questions lol, I was totally thinking about this last night.

I had a c-section with my first LO and wore the belly bandit from about a week PP until 6 weeks or so but not at night. I liked the results it gave and will use it with my second.

I'm planning on getting one of these:

Pricey but hopefully worth it!

I've been wearing the bellefit! Every few days, I take it off for a day or night to let my skin breathe but I really think its helping! I undo the top few clasps at night to make it more comfortable

@JoJoGirl: I wish I had seen this before!!!
I've been using then belly bandit, though not religiously. I think the shape and my torso don't fit it well, but after 2-3 weeks it was already at the smallest of the Velcro. Been thinking of just wearing a corset or Spanx to continue to tighten feeling. It's not comfortable, but that Jessica Alba article has me inspired now!!!

@shopaholic: haha! I just read through a million of the reviews on amazon and i'm actually excited to wear it now

They gave me one after my c-section, but I was allergic to something in it. I ended up with a horrible rash.

I wore one for a few weeks after my c-section. It really helped keep everything sucked in and gave me extra stability to move around. I was so big and swollen after the delivery that they actually velcroed two together to fit me in the hospital! Within a week I was down to just the one and constantly stretching it tighter and tighter.

I bought a bellefit and received a regular medical ab binder in the hospital post c-section. After wearing the hospital one, which looks similar to a belly bandit to me, I hated my bellefit! it left an inch of skin bulge on top (between bra and bellefit) and rode up in this awkward way that gave me horrible vpl and let half of my butt hang out. hard to explain..but it just wasnt right for me and i thought the hospital one did the job. i wore it around the clock for a week and then off and on 2 weeks after that.
this looks really similar to what they gave me. might be worth a try for someone on a budget: http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/walgreens-ace-surgical-binder-%26-abdominal-support-beige/ID=prod6038818-product

Wow, do some of you really wear this to bed too?? It sounds sooo uncomfortable! But I'm intrigued and will have to look into this when the time comes...

I bought a Belly Bandit, but I guess I lucked out b/c I didn't need it. So I was able to return it - they're sort of pricey!

I had a c-section and wore my binder for at least 8 weeks. It really made my tummy shrink back to normal.

PS: if you get the belly bandit- get the bamboo one..It is MUCH more comfortable! I got sent a regular one by accident and it sucked! I had to send it back and get another bamboo...But the bamboo is like $20 more

The bellefit was recommended to me, and I do plan on purchasing one. However, I can barely sleep with a sports bra, or socks on, so I'm not sure how I'll fare at night.
Jessica Alba looks like she has never given birth. I just can't believe that kind of body is possible, post partum, and I'm hopeful I can achieve just half of what she's managed.

I wore the bamboo bellybandit after my csection. I didn't start wearing it until maybe 3 weeks pp though because I was so sore. I wore it day and night for about 6 weeks. Loved the support it gave me and definitely helped shrink things back up
