I saw the other thread on acupuncture and I did not want to take away from it. I am interested in trying to find an acupuncturist. Is anyone in the central NJ area and can make a recommendation? Also, do you think it is important to go to a "fertility acupuncturist" versus a more general one?

I'm no help. But, I will say that I think if you go to a general one, they will know about "fertility acupuncture" also. It may even cost less to go to a general than a specialized one. But I am not speaking from experience! Good luck!

Thanks @Rosie Girl for responding! I called a couple and the fertility one actually wound up being the same price (or a tad cheaper) than the general one that was closer. I am still a little nervous about going to an unknown place, but I think I am going to try it out...

@BLOVED - I'm not in NJ, but can tell you that I am using an accupuncturist that specializes in fertility (but also treats other conditions). For my first visit, I was nervous too, but a friend had recommended him (and got pregnant b/c of him!). For the first visit, it was all talking, so I got a great "feeling" about my guy, he was warm and friendly and answered all of my questions. I think that is pretty important, to just feel comfortable with him. As for my first treatment... I really didn't feel the needles at all (I'm not scared of them either). During the treatment though, I kind of feel waves of energy and it is so relaxing. I am so glad that I went to see an accupuncturist and would reccomend it to anyone!

@carrielouwho - thanks for the feedback. I did wind up trying it at a place that specializes in Fertility. I am still out on what I think. Everyone I know says that acupuncture helps them relax, and while I did not feel the needles, I did not feel relaxed either! I definitely want to give it another try though. I was excited because they did look at my charts and point out what they want to try and do, and talked about timing the acupuncture with my iuis. I have another appointment tomorrow, so I am hoping to get the relaxation bit too!!
