What should I use? Aquaphor? Vaseline? Coconut oil? I need something that will absorb bc all she wants todo is wipe it off.

@Munchkin: Where is the dry skin? Face? Hands? Creases? My girls have eczema so they have prescription creams, but for me (my hands get extremely dry and cracked) I like something like Alba Botanica Un-Petroleum Jelly or Waxelene. http://www.amazon.com/Alba-Botanica-Un-Petroleum-Multi-Purpose-Jelly/dp/B000OO7546 or Waxelene http://www.amazon.com/Waxelene-Petroleum-Jelly-Alternative-9-Ounce/dp/B00D3PMP20/ref=sr_1_1?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1453251185&sr=1-1&keywords=waxelene
Ointments are better than creams in terms of moisturizing, and I would avoid lotions because they can contain alcohol and actually be drying or irritating. I try to grease them up right after a bath when their skin is porous and when their eczema flares their ped has recommended moisturizing 3x/day. I would try to cover any moisturized that you can with clothes, and if your LO scratches at the dry skin you can try putting them to bed with socks on their hands. It's really tough when the dry skin is on their neck or face...but I think it's better to try to moisturize than not to. You can also see if a humidifier in their room helps with the dryness!

On LO's face and rough spots I use Burts bees ointment after bathtime. It's thick and greasy and coats his skin well. During the day I will dab aquaphor on his face.

I use either coconut oil or pure Shea butter. The latter is kinda tacky so I mostly use it before bed when the PJs can seal in the moisture. But it really works well for us!

Lo hasn't had a problem yet this year but last winter I would slather her cheeks with coconut oil before we left the house. It totally stopped the chapped cheeks.

Aqua phor but it's a fight to put it on her - she hates how it feels. I just bought some cocoa butter for myself (pregnant) and I'm planning on using it on her as well.
