I am sure there are a million of these but how long did it take you to get AF after D&C? I will be 4 weeks out on Monday. I have never been so excited for a period, I just want to move on physically. Thanks!

@simplyfelicity: hi there!
my first one was 6 weeks. my hcg was extremely high after a blighted ovum. My second was 4w1d after my D&C. That was nice!

@Tidybee: HI! I never got my blood drawn but I did take a pregnancy test on Thursday (3 weeks and 3 days) or so and it was totally negative. What has your doctor said about waiting to TTC? Mine said 3-6 months and then said 2 months when I pressed her further. However, I have seen a bunch of different people saying that you need to wait for your first AF and then it's fine. I definitely don't want to do anything to make me mc again but I don't want to wait longer than necessary.

@simplyfelicity: No advice, but I just wanted to say how happy I am to see you around these parts. You've been missed.

@simplyfelicity: Have you had any signs of O? I think I ovulated both times in the cycle after and got AF about 13-16 days following some typical ovulation signs. That might give you a clue about when to expect it.
Both doctors said to wait 2 cycles before trying again. I got pregnant on the first cycle we could start trying again after mc #1. We know how that ended up. But my lining was good, and it seemed like my body could hold a pregnancy (but the chromosomes apparently did not agree). This time I ooopsied and got pregnant after 1 cycle (I thought I had ovulated that 1 time we didn't use protection but I guess I hadn't!). I had a CP. I worried that it was too soon to be pregnant which caused the CP. I will talk to my doctor about that on Friday. However, at the same time I got pregnant, I broke out in a rash which was actually the reason I tested. I thought maybe it was hormonal. Once the pregnancy had failed and I realized this rash was not getting better, I went to a doctor only to find out I had shingles! So who knows what part that played in the CP as well.

@Tidybee: Thanks for the info! Once again, I am sorry this is happening but I hope you get some answers on Friday. Please keep us updated.

@Tidybee: Just realized I didn't answer your question, I haven't had any O symptoms. I hope your shingles clear up very soon.

Same with me, 4 weeks today and still no AF in sight - and definitely no O!

@simplyfelicity: five weeks to the day from the d&c for me. We were planning to wait a month or two per OB but had a couple oops moments so I started to worry but then AF showed up. Hope it is on its way and that your BFP follows soon!

@simplyfelicity: I didn't have a D&C as I opted to take the medicine instead. I got my period back 7.5 weeks after I miscarried.

It took 5 weeks for me - and i bled through that whole 5 weeks so I didn't even realize it was AF until later!!

7.5 weeks for me. Like chibee: my period was at the end of it, without stopping bleeding in between. FX your AF comes soon so you can move on. It really does help.

@chibee: @ValentineMommy: I didn't know that was possible! I bled for about 2 weeks after my D & C, so I don't think I had AF in there.

@MamaCate: Thank you for your support! I created a thread about this but did your doctor tell you to wait one or two cycles? I have heard so many answers on the subject but I don't want to do anything to lead to another. I also had a D & C. Thanks, again!
@snowjewelz: Hopefully third time is the charm. Thank you!

@simplyfelicity: so I had my d&c and then didn't go see her until 2 1/2 weeks later due to scheduling. I was still bleeding lightly by we had DTD after the 14 days of "vaginal rest" or whatever. I hadn't really thought about my cycle. She encouraged us to wait until I got my period, then one more cycle, then try. But she stated this was more for emotional reasons (could you handle another loss?) than medical ones. We did try the first new cycle (so m/c in November, period in December and tried although doc rec would have been waiting until January) after but timing wasn't great...and we are still trying.
I hope you get your period soon and your BFP!! Hugs-- this is do hard!

@MamaCate: Sorry for the delay! Thank you for your help, it is so appreciated! Based on what a lot of ladies have said and research I have done, I think I am going to NTNP after my first AF and then TTC the cycle after. It seems like a lot of doctors recommend waiting for emotional reasons more than physical. I don't necessarily want to get KU right now, I just don't want to worry about protection, etc. Thanks again and I wish you the best of luck.

@simplyfelicity: that sounds like a good plan. I hope that your recovery continues to go smoothly and that your next pregnancy is a sticky one!
