Are these brands of shoes worth the cost or do I just want them because my social media feed is inundated with their ads? I need new shoes and I am willing to splurge if they are comfortable, cute, and will last. Help me!

I have two pair of Rothy's (pointed flats) and love them. Haven't tried AllBirds.

I love my rothy’s! I’m an attorney and also have a toddler—they look super professional and also let me chase after a tiny human. Would definitely recommend!

I have a pair of Rothy's loafers and they have quickly become my favorite shoes. I also have a pair of Allbirds (I live in SF) and they are also comfy but less professional.

Also I will shamelessly share a Rothy's referral code if you want $20 off, https://share.rothys.com/x/DK01pn Also - Rothy's is on ebates/rakuten with a 5% rebate. Further, sizing can be a bit wonky - I had to go a half size up from my usual size in the loafers. The regular flats I tried on fit true to my normal size.

I have two pairs of Rothy's also and love them so so much. I walk at least 3-4 miles in them every work day and they have held up really well and are extremely comfortable. Plus you can throw them in the wash when they need to get cleaned. I have the pointed pairs and they're so chic and can transition from work to weekend wear.

I like my Rothy’s but they are not very supportive and I feel they are overpriced for what they are. But I have bunions and it is hard for me to find shoes that fit, and since they are fabric they are pretty comfortable.

I have the pointed rothy’s, they’re fine but I probably wouldn’t buy them again. I do feel like they are overpriced. They are super flat with no cushioning and the pointed toe kind of pinched/rubs my outer two toes.

I love love love my Allbirds Tree Breezers...just ordered another pair in the new red clay color. I tried on the Skippers and wasn’t sold on them, but I haven’t tried tho other styles. I have a pair of Rothy’s Points that are not super comfortable but I do wear them sometimes. I tried the Rothy’s sneaker a few weeks ago because the blue gingham print was so cute and they looked great on, but man were they uncomfortable so I returned them. Really narrow (and I don’t have a particularly wide foot) and scratchy inside. My Points are nowhere near as scratchy. I might give the Flats or Loafers a chance someday, but only if an irresistible color/print comes along.

I love love love my pointed Rothy’s. They’re my first pair of pointed toe shoes and I love how they look, they’re cute and professional, and they’re super comfortable. I badly want another pair but can’t justify the cost. (Although I might use that referral code!)

I love my Rothy flats and they’re my go-to work shoe. I just got a pair of all bird flats and haven’t worn them out yet but they look great too!

I bought a pair of Root Collective flats instead. I don't wear them a ton because I just don't wear flats a lot but they are super well made.

I’ve been wondering the same thing. For those of you who love Rothy’s, do any of you have wide feet?

@LadyDi: Nope! In retrospect I might have gone up a half size, but when I ordered them they didn’t ship to Canada (I had to ship them to my brother on a business trip) so I just deal with it, but I wouldn’t say that pinch or rub or anything, they just feel a little small.

I have 2 pairs of Rothy’s that I love but they have no support at all. They’re great but I’ll never be able to wear them exclusively because of that.

I have Rothys flats and sneakers and love them both. Point was uncomfortable for me even sized up though, I do have a wider foot.

I think I am gonna bite the bullet and buy black Rothys. I need new black flats anyway, I have one pair and I am embarrassed that I used to wear them to work. They are literally falling apart. The Allbirds will go on my Christmas list. I am listening to the How I Built This episode about the founders of Allbirds...really interesting!

@LadyDi: Are you getting the Flat or the Point? I highly recommend sizing up at least a half-size in the Point, for me a full size would have probably been better. Sizing does seem to vary by color though. And Rothy’s is really excellent about returns if they don’t work out. You can ship them back or drop them off at certain stores (I returned mine at a Paper Source).

@LadyDi: i was my normal size in the regular flat and a half size up in the loafer. I didn't try on the point.

I bought a full size up in my Rothys points and then added a dr scholls insert (I trimmed it down to size using the included insert as a guide). That really helped. Still not as supportive as my hiking sandals, but you can’t ask for that kind of support from a more formal shoe. I have degenerative joints in my pelvis and a spinal fusion, and the Rothys with inserts are the only “nice” shoes I can wear without pain.

@Hypatia: good tip on how to add inserts! I love my points but sometimes wish they had more support so I could wear them for wandering around the city instead of just at work.
