Choosing between these two pumps from my insurance provider. Any experience with or opinions on either? I know it's tough to ask for a comparison because most people have probably only ever used one pump.

I've had both these pumps and I liked the Hygeia better. There are less pieces, it was more comfortable, and I seemed to get better output with it (different pregnancies though, so maybe hard to compare?). It is heavier than the Ameda though.

I hated the hygeia and could barely get any output from it. The one I ended up loving is the Medela PISA.

I have the Ameda PU and have been very happy with it.

@Anya: i had to choose between those for my insurance, too, and went with the Q because what I saw online it seemed like it was hospital grade and good reviews. Came in the mail last week, but no personal experience yet

I love my Hygeia! (Well, as much as you can love pumping
)I rented an Ameda hospital grade for my first month, it was fine, but I got better results from the Hygeia.

No experience with the Q, but I have the Ameda and it is just OK. I find it not easy or comfortable to use and I don't think it is maximizing my output. It is also loud. My friends with other brands seem to be having better experiences.
