It seems silly, but were there any birthdays you wanted to avoid for your LO? My nephew has a New Years birthday and he gets a lot of combo presents, Other than Christmas or New Years, any day would be fine. That being said, it's not a serious concern. We just want a LO.

We actually were hoping to have a baby in the spring or summer because it seems like everyone else in our family has birthdays from October through December.

Ideally we'd like to avoid Christmas (and I'd like to avoid being 9 mos. as MOH for my BF) but a baby is a baby is a baby and we'll take it no matter when it comes!

I actually wanted a Christmas baby and we started TTC just at the right time. Fortunately for us it worked out and I'm due in two days but we would've been happy conceiving any time after that if that's how it worked.

Not really... I did just realize though that baby could have our anniversary as their bday! Hopefully not though so DH and I don't feel pressed to not celebrate our anniversary b/c it conflicts. =/

@oliviaoblivia: That's how I feel! My birthday is Valentine's Day while my FIL's is Christmas Day. Everyone thinks it's super cute to have those birthdays. As a kid, it's fine. When you get older, you start to resent it a lot. My husband and I stopped celebrating Valentine's Day or do it near the holiday. My birthday takes priority over Valentine's Day.

@carrieknitscake: We might be the same person...my B-day is a few days after Valentines and it's so annoying! DH always wants to combine them - but that is NOT allowed! haha.
My grandmother was born the day after Christmas and she has been bitter about if for going on 86 years!

My coworker bff Lisa's birthday is Dec. 28th. She said she hated it growing up... mixing bdays with Christmas, so she said that if we don't conceive by March, she's going to hold us off on what would be our cycle 4, so that we don't end up with a Christmas baby!
I think that's probably the only holiday that we want to avoid...

@oliviaoblivia: Isn't it fun when your SO/DH whoever says it's such a pain in the ass to do two events near each other. I spent many an early relationship going through this gripe. Now, we just celebrate Valentine's Day a day or two later. I've found that it makes the two of us so much happier.

@chopsuey119: Our entire bridal party was born in March. All four people standing up for us were born in March. My husband has an August birthday and I have a February birthday. Crazy.

Our due date is 4 days before my birthday, and 5 days before April fools day. I'd like to avoid both of those days

@prettylizy: I'd like to avoid April Fools Day too. My edd is Apr 1st and I've joked that I am NOT pushing out this baby on April Fools Day.

We wanted a baby in the summer or fall. DD is due the beginning of March! DS and DH are 1 day apart in February, and SIL's birthday is in February too. I'm guessing I will deliver in February. I'm just worried now about her being a leap year baby!

We want to avoid Christmas, only because MIL's birthday is the day after and she's always hated it.
LO is due July 6, and DH's birthday is 4th of July-- he's kind of hoping that the baby doesn't "steal his thunder!"

I'd like to avoid mid to late November (2 birthdays/Thanksgiving/National Novel Writing Month) and December (4 birthdays/Christmas/New Year's) - but not to the point that we won't be trying!

When TTC, I preferred to not have a due date right around Christmas, and would have loved a summer-ish baby birthday (as hubby and I are both late summer babies). But it wasn't a strong enough desire to affect when we tried. And after dealing with infertility, I honestly didn't care at all anymore.
Luckily, our babes are slated to arrive in July! So I kind of got my wish in the end

We would like to avoid a December birthday. I know a couple people with a Christmas birthday and they hate it.

of course i'd prefer to have a baby born on a day i didn't want, rather than not having them. but i'd rather them not be born on a holiday or a leap year.

We wanted to avoid the winter because we worried about how we would throw birthday parties. Then, when we found out his due date, I really wanted to avoid sharing my birthday. I got my way with my birthday, but not by much because our birthdays are now 2 days apart.

I am a day after Christmas baby and as a kid I hated it. It was hard to have birthday parties, etc. My parents were great about not giving combo gifts, but almost everyone else did. Of course as I got older it wasn't such a big deal, but it was a big deal for me until I started to hit my tween years.
My preference would be to not have a Christmas baby, but when it really comes down to it, I don't care all that much!

I dont want to have a baby on a major holiday like xmas, or new years. I also prefer to have my baby during the school year. I think it sucks to have a birthday that falls during the school holiday because then the kids dont get to enjoy their birthday with the school friends.

@oliviaoblivia: we have Valentine's day, our anniversary, and my birthday around the same time. So far no issues though ...I think my husband knows better than to try to combine them.

When we talked about TTC, we both wanted to avoid a Christmas baby. My mom’s bday is a few days before Christmas and she said it was terrible as a kid because you always got combo gifts instead of two celebrations like everyone else. To this day, the easiest way to send her into a fit is to wrap her bday gift in Christmas themed wrapping paper.
I also wanted to avoid a winter (Dec-March) baby because it is so cold and snowy here and I didn’t want to deal with going into labor in the middle of a snowstorm, or not being comfortable leaving my house after the birth with a newborn because of snow/ice/slippery condition concerns.
Luckily, we’re having an early June bebe.

I'd like to avoid late Nov. to early Jan. so as not to have a baby around Thanksgiving, X-mas, and New Years. I figure we'll start TTC in May or so and if we still aren't pregnant by the next Feb/March, maybe I won't care so much about the potential holiday birth anymore.

When we started TTC, I really wanted an October or summer baby. We didn't really care if their birthday fell on a holiday. By about 6 months in, I didn't care when their birthday would be. We're due in August, the day before BIL's birthday and about 3 weeks before DH's.
